Gaze Recognition Interface Development for Smart Wheelchair (지능형 휠체어를 위한 시선 인식 인터페이스 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a gaze recognition interface for smart wheelchair. The gaze recognition interface is a user interface which recognize the commands using the gaze recognition and avoid the detected obstacles by sensing the distance through range sensors on the way to driving. Smart wheelchair is composed of gaze recognition and tracking module, user interface module, obstacle detector, motor control module, and range sensor module. The interface in this paper uses a camera with built-in infra red filter and 2 LED light sources to see what direction the pupils turn to and can send command codes to control the system, thus it doesn't need any correction process per each person. The results of the experiment showed that the proposed interface can control the system exactly by recognizing user's gaze direction.

  • In this paper, the full color LED billboard or a general quality improvement methods of quality gamma correction, brightness, and brightness adjustment, etc., regardless of the overall color of images uniformly bright or dark have been taken care of. A Design of Heat-Sink and DMX512 Communication Control for High-Power LEDs (고출력 LED 방열 및 DMX512 통신 제어 설계)

  • Recently, various applications for LED lightings are growing continuously due to their better performances such as low power consumption, longer life time, operation speed, controllability, high quality color rendering, and sustainability. However, in developing the high-powered LEDs illumination system, heat-sink problem is one of the important obstacle. In this paper, a heat-sink design with multi-layered structure for high-powered LEDs is proposed, which is composed of metal core PCB, heat-pipes, heat-sink plates, and fans. And also, in this paper, a design for LED controls using DMX512 protocols through RS-485 communications is proposed, which is considered as de facto international standard in LEDs illumination control and is widely used in landscape lighting and stage lighting. In this paper, LED control and its application techniques are introduced and the method of wireless remote control for main controller is proposed.

피팅 부식을 이용한 LED용 Al 6063 방열판의 열 방출 특성 향상

  • 에너지 효율이 높은 LED조명을 사용하면 에너지 절감, 이산화탄소, 환경오염물질 배출 감소의 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 LED조명에서 발생하는 열은 LED조명의 수명과 에너지 효율을 감소시킨다. 따라서 LED조명을 상용화하기 위해서는 LED조명에서 발생되는 열을 효율적으로 제거하는 것이 필수적이며 LED조명 방열판의 생산단가 또한 낮아야 한다. 이러한 조건을 충족하는 LED조명용 방열판은 Al 6063이 주로 사용되고 있다. Al 6063은 열전도 특성이 우수하고 생산단가가 저렴하다. 그러나 100 W급 이상의 고출력 LED조명에 Al 6063을 사용하기 위해서는 Al 6063의 열 방출 특성을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 금속의 열 방출 특성을 향상시키기 위해서 주로 이용되는 방법은 표면적을 극대화 시키는 것이다. 금속에 국부적인 깊이 부식을 일이키는 Pitting corrosion을 이용하면 저렴한 비용으로 Al 6063의 표면적을 극대화하여 방열판의 열 방출 특성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 실험에 사용한 기본적인 구조의 Al 6063 방열판의 크기는 $50{\times}50{\times}30(mm)$ 이며 1M HCl + 0.05M $H_2SO_4$에서 $I_a$ = +40 mA, $t_a$ = 60 ms, $I_c$ = -40 mA, $t_c$ =20 ms로 50, 100, 200 cycle AC 에칭 하였다. Pitting corrosion된 방열판은 $3W{\times}3$개의 LED모듈에서 1시간 발광 시킨 후, 열화상 카메라를 이용하여 표면온도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 AC에칭 cycle이 증가할수록 발열특성이 우수하였으며, Pitting corrosion을 이용하지 않은 방열판에 비해 최대 $5^{\circ}C$의 표면온도 감소가 이루어졌다. 본 연구를 통해, 저렴하면서도 열 방출 특성이 높은 방열판을 설계하면, 고출력 LED조명의 상용화를 앞당길 수 있을 것이다.

  • In this paper, we propose that it can control the interior lighting, LED and alarm clocks based on Bluetooth. The proposed 'Bluetooth based LED Alarm Lamp'may be an ON / OFF by using a Bluetooth module, by the light sensor and voltage transformers were designed to adjust the ON / OFF and light intensity. Also 7-segment display the clock, it was used a piezo-buzzer that designed to ring an alarm in time. And to decrease the voltage by using the touch sensor can adjust the light brightness. It was also added the ability to align the alarm. This piece (Bluetooth based LED Alarm Lamp) can provide a comfortable environment inside the room of a resident if the environment is dark when voltage is maintained to be ON automatic system. And designed with emphasis being able to improve the quality of sleep due to weak light.

  • Module of the LED traffic signal is the core component for the care of driver and walker. Also it is important one to control the traffic. If it is against the criteria of brightness, it is the source of the people's death and traffic congestion. Therefore, it is a list of articles desired the security of stability. However, there is not the analysis of failure and not preserve the uniformity of quality. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the criteria of appreciation for the module of the LED traffic signal to analysis the data of failure. In this paper, we investigate the performance test, environment field test and test of reliability appreciation to improve the reliability. We also set up the criteria of success decision using the real measurement data.

Measurement of Junction Temperature in High Power LED Module with Property Analysis of Single Package (단일 패키지의 특성 분석을 통한 고출력 발광 다이오드 모듈의 접합 온도 측정)

  • The temperature of junction in LED affects the life time and performance. however, the measurement of junction temperature in module is very difficult. In this paper, to measure the junction temperature in LED module, optical and electrical properties is measured in single package in temperature from 25 [$^{\circ}C$] to 85 [$^{\circ}C$], and then junction temperature can is estimated in module with measuring the average voltage of single package. As results, the junction temperature of single package is measured the temperature of 61.2 [$^{\circ}C$] in ambient temperature, also, the junction temperature of LED module is measured the temperature of 72.5 [$^{\circ}C$] in ambient temperature.

Optimization of Heatsink and Analysis of Thermal Property in 75W LED Module for Street Lighting (75W급 LED 가로등 모듈의 방열판 최적화와 열특성 분석)

  • In this paper, we optimized and simulated the heatsink of 75W LED module for street lighting and evaluated the optical properties with the manufactured heatsink. the structure of LED package make simple as chip and heatslug and thermal flow is analyzed by using the FEM(Finite Element Method) with CFdesign V10. Also, we measured the temperature of heatsink and evaluated the optical properties with infrared thermal image camera and integrated sphere system for luminous flux in $1\;[m^3]$ box. As results, Heatsink optimized in 3 mm pin thickness, 6 mm base thickness and 16 number of pin count by using Heatsink-designer and got the results which is the temperature of $47.37\;[^{\circ}C]$ and thermal resistance of $0.48407\;[W/^{\circ}C]$. In thermal flow simulation, the temperature of heatsink decreased from $51.54\;[^{\circ}C]$ to $51.51\;[^{\circ}C]$ and the temperature of heatsink by the time in real measurement decreased from $47.03\;[^{\circ}C]$ to $46.87\;[^{\circ}C]$. Moreover, we improve 0.68 % in the decreased ratio of the luminous flux.
