This paper is concerned with the life-cycle cost(LCC) analysis of the urban transit vehicle. LCC is the core part of analyzing the total cost of acquisition and ownership of a system. LCC in railway industry has been focused on the prediction of investment for railway vehicles. Therefore, to investigate future cost for operation and maintenance in detail, it is necessary to evaluate the LCC of the vehicle systematically. This study is focused on making a fundamental model for estimating the LCC of the urban transit vehicle. To develop a appropriate LCC model, we broadly analyzed specs and standards and compared the LCC model developed in other country. Moreover, this paper proposes strategies to develop an unique LCC model for the urban transit vehicle.
This paper proposed a general formulation of Life-Cycle Cost (LCC) models and LCC effective design system models of steel bridges suitable for practical implementation. An LCC model for the optimum design of steel bridges included initial cost and direct/indirect rehabilitation costs of a steel bridge as well as repair/replacement costs, loss of contents or fatality and injury losses, road user costs, and indirect socioeconomic losses. The new road user cost model and regional socioeconomic losses model were especially considered because of the traffic network. Illustrative design examples of an actual steel box girder and an orthotropic steel deck bridge were discussed to demonstrate the LCC effectiveness of the design of steel bridges. Based on the results of the numerical investigation, the LCC-effective optimum design of steel bridges based on the proposed LCC model was found to lead to a more rational, economical, and safer design compared with the initial cost-optimum design and the conventional code-based design.
Costs have long since become a major issue in railway system analysis, attention is not limited to the acquisition costs alone, but encompasses all costs involved in the use and disposal of the systems. Concepts such as Life Cycle Cost(LCC), Costs Of Ownership(COO), or Total Ownership Cost(TOC) are more and more frequent in any document dealing with system analysis. Most of railway projects have applied this LCC Model to evaluate effectiveness of system acquisition cost. But these action of LCC model does not applied all the rest of system life cycle period due to the differences of its responsibility. This is why a study has been undertaken by the operation party to harmonize the most important aspects of the LCC model. This study focused on these and other objectives for introduction of method and needs for an action plan for maintenance actions involved relevant cost allocation.

Recently, the government recommend the use of LCC analysis at a feasibility phase by comprehensive countermeasures for efficient public construction projects and comprehensive countermeasures against preventing unconscientious construction. From the end of 1980's, studies of LCC is in progress actively However, it is difficult to put to practical use for lack of a process, a detailed guideline and existing data about LCC analysis. This study proposes a analysis methodology and a cost model can estimate life cycle cost for Buildings. Furthermore, it develops algorithms for computerizing which is able to estimate efficient LCC assessment.

The reliability of the results of LCC analysis is determined by accurate analytical procedures and energy data from which the uncertainty is removed. Until now, systems that can automatically measure these energy data and produce databases have not been commercialized. Therefore this paper proposes a concept model of an S-LCC platform that can automatically collect and analyze electric energy consumption data of equipment systems using the IOT, which is the core tool in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and operates the equipment system efficiently using the analyzed results. The proposed concept model was developed by the convergence of existing BLCS and IOT and was comprised of five modules: Facility Control Module, LCC Analysis Module, Energy Consumption Control Module, Efficiency Analysis Module, and Maintenance Standard Reestablishment Module. Using the results of LCC analysis deduced from this system, the deterioration condition of an equipment system can be identified in real-time. The results can be used as the baseline data to re-establish standards for the maintenance factor, replacement frequency, and lifetime of existing equipment, and establish new maintenance standards for new equipment. If the S-LCC platform is established, it would increase the reliability of LCC analysis, reduce the labor force for entering data and improve accuracy, and would also change disregarded data into big data with high potential.

The objective of this study is to develop optimal alternative selection model for renewing building equipments system. Cost Breakdown Structure of LCC in HVAC systems are deduced from resonable data and factors. As for Cost Breakdown Structure of LCC in HVAC system, pertinent level, title, CBS number, and block number are determined efficiently. Especially, in addition to current cost factor, it is possible to make Cost Breakdown Structure using present worth method more clear. A model of POWER LCC ver 1.0 used to analyze primary cooling system, heating system, and air conditioning system are POWER LCC ver 1.0_/sub SYSTEM/ : C1+ C2- C3+ C4+ C5+ C6+ C7±C8+ C9- C10/sub -1/+ C10/sub -2/+ C10/sub -3/, and is implemented with consideration of Cost Breakdown Structure and their summation using present-worth method. It is programmed with one of scientific languages, MATLAB 5.3.

Approximately 25% of military establishments became superannuated to unable perform their function, and it influences on the environment by construction wastes and the waste of national budget, as there is no rational and objective standard even though old facilities have been replaced through modernization project. Therefore, it has been searched to introduce industrial building system that can cope with the new building-construction and transference for the improvement of existing military establishments. However, as there is no economical estimation standard for practical use, industrial building-construction is still remaining at the initial stage, and the study is insufficient too. So. in this study, I would like to develope LCC cost model for rational LCC comparative analysis between industrial construction system (Modular) and existing reinforced concrete structure and cage, and to evaluate economical efficiency through case analysis.
Recently, the demand on the practical application of life-cycle cost effective design and rehabilitation of bridges is rapidly growing in civil engineering practice. However, in spite of impressive progress in the researches on the Life-Cycle Cost (LCC), the most researches have only focused on the theoretical point but did not fully incorporate the critical issues for the practical implementation. Thus, this paper is intended to suggest a systemic integrated approach to the practical application of various LCC methodologies for the design and rehabilitation of bridges, For that purpose, hierarchical definitions of LCC models are presented to categorize the approach of LCC assessment applicable for the practical implementation. And then, an integrated LCC system model is introduced with an emphasis on data uncertainty assessment and user-friendly knowledge-based database for its successful implementation. Finally, in order to demonstrate the LCC effectiveness for design and rehabilitation of real bridge structures, illustrative examples are discussed.

A life cycle cost analysis model for public water supply systems should be different from the ones for other civil and architectural facilities as the operation and the maintenance cost of the water supply systems mainly come from the various mechanical systems and the pipeline systems of the collecting/treating/distributing facilities. This paper presents a cost classification scheme and a probabilistic life cycle cost analysis (PLCCA) model for public water supply systems. A value analysis (VA) procedure that is well suited for practical purposes is also presented. The presented probabilistic life cycle model and the value analysis procedure were applied to a real world project, and this case study is discussed in the paper. The model and the procedure presented in this study can greatly contribute to the value-oriented design alternative selection, the estimation of the maintenance cost, and the allocation of budget for water supply system construction projects.

Recently, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) for civil infrastructures, such as pavements, bridges, and dams, has been emphasized. However there are few cost models for road tunnel especially for maintenance phase. The road network is composed of highways, bridges, and road tunnels. Thus it is as important as for road tunnels to keep safe for traffic. The maintenance strategies for road tunnels can be achieved based on the minimization of LCC in maintenance phase. For this purpose, in this paper, cost model and cost classification for road tunnel in maintenance phase are suggested.
