This paper examines the safety perception of passengers on low cost carriers which has made several accidents and incidents at the early stage of their business. The concept of low cost carrier is becoming more important to airline industry in Korea. This study achieves the first selecting attribute among airline service factors on domestic flights and try to indicate that how much the passengers trust in the safety of low cost carriers. It is also sets the comparative safety awareness between low cost carriers and two full service national carriers in domestic market. The safety perception of aircraft type can be a major factor for LCC choice in Korea due to frequent accidents and incidents for last two years. More than 60% of LCC passengers have increasingly considered the safety after recent accidents. The low cost airlines' images of the passengers showed that the first image of the LCC was the fare and the second image was safety. This study indicates that most of the LCC travelers will use the international low cost airlines when LCC extend their destination to adjacent countries. For the accomplishment of the low cost carriers' competitiveness in domestic market, they have to try to get rid of bad image for safety and pay extra attention to find out better services other than the safety and develop other strategies to compete against existing full service carriers.

Low Cost Carrier(LCC)s in Asia Pacific market are expected to record high growth due to the expansion of Open Sky Policy among Korea, Japan, China and South East Asia. As everybody is aware of, LCC is not only saving flight cost but also creates differentiating business model by reducing unnecessary services such as F&B and in-flight duty free sales services. Booming LCCs in Asian market will cause not only Incheon airport but also other local airports in Korea to compete heavily to attract LCCs. For example, Air Asia Group with more than 200 fleet has expanded its alliance network throughout Asia. Therefore this paper has researched a new business model operating a LCC terminal for the hub airport competitiveness. According to analysis result of case study, it was found out, considering increasing airline demand next decade, Incheon airport and other domestic airports in Korea had better change an existing terminal into a LCC Terminal(LCCT) to differentiate airport services and expand its hub network. That is because of economic feasibility, first of all, of securing hub and spoke networking capabilities with airlines and finally of developing commercial facilities customizing LCC passengers' demand.

This study applied the network text analysis to reveal the scope and trends of low cost carrier studies. We analyzed low cost carrier research published in Korean journals and news articles. The results showed that there are three clusters in terms of research topics. First dimension consists of articles investigating growth in the low cost carrier industry. The second dimension is associated with service characteristics. The last dimension has strong ties organizational and human resource dimension. We run Krkwic, Krtitle, Netdraw, and Ucinet 6.0 to conduct the network text analysis. This study suggests the direction of low cost carrier research in the future.

본 연구는 LCC (Low cost carrier) 항공사 지상직 직원들의 잡 크래프팅이 개인-직무 부합과 직장만족에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 잡 크래프팅과 개인-직무 부합, 직장 만족에 대한 개념을 정리하고 관계를 파악하여 잡 크래프팅이 항공사 지상직 직원에게 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 인천국제공항에 근무하는 공항 지상직 직원들 중 LCC 항공사 지상직 직원을 대상으로 하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 잡 크래프팅의 하위 요소인 과업 크래프팅, 인지 크래프팅, 관계 크래프팅 중 인지 크래프팅만이 개인-직무 부합에 의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 개인-직무 부합은 직장 만족에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

Movements using aircraft are continuously increasing. This is because options for airlines, including eight national airlines, are becoming more diverse. In particular, FSC and LCC provide different services and prices, so it is not easy to choose, but it is analyzed that safety is the most important factor when selecting airlines in 2013 and 2017(all age groups are the same). There was a difference between 2013 and 2017 for each age group. In particular, the importance of price factors is high in 2017 compared to 2013, and other items in the 40s and 50s are also significantly changed.

본 연구는 네트워크 연결망 관점에서 저비용항공사에 따른 공항 네트워크의 구조적 특성을 파악하고자 진행하였다. IATA의 Airport Intelligence Service의 SRS Analyser Schedule Database를 이용하여 2010년 1월부터 2016년 1월까지 아시아 주요공항을 운항하는 71개 저비용항공사(LCC)를 선정하여 국내선을 제외한 국제선 노선을 대상으로 하여 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 본 논문에서는 인천국제공항을 비롯하여 홍콩, 싱가포르, 나리타, 간사이, 푸동, 가오슝, 김포, 제주공항 등을 중심으로 네트워크 연결 메커니즘을 파악하고, 4가지 중심성 분석을 통해 LCC 네트워크의 구조적 변화를 분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 이들 공항에서는 LCC 네트워크가 형성되어 있고 타 공항과의 연결성 밀도가 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 최근 저비용항공사들도 기존 항공사들의 동맹체(Alliance)와 같은 형태의 LCC-Alliance를 출범함에 따라 허브-앤-스포크 네트워크를 지원하는 운영방식을 확대할 것으로 보인다.

Today, the tourism industry, unlike the past, is fused with various fields and is closely related to various fields, not just one field. In the case of the tourism industry, it leads to an increase in product sales through not only national import but also enhancing national image, forming a positive virtuous chain. As mentioned in order to verify the hypothesis presented in this study, pilot tests were conducted on about 50 copies of the data, and as a result, in-flight service (H1), flight service (H2), compensation service (H3), and reservation service (H4) It has been shown to have a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and when customer satisfaction is achieved, it naturally leads to reuse.

Purpose - In this study, the safety related tasks for low cost carriers' were examined and measures to improve them were suggested. As the air demand increases rapidly, number of passenger has mushroomed in Korea and in order to keep with the demand low cost carriers have played a role. However, low cost carriers' safety related tasks are not reliable level so far. Thus, in this study, the low cost carriers' current situations in terms of safety are investigated, especially regarding how well the ICAO's new safety policies are applied. Research design, data, and methodology - The results of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation' investigation are introduced and field study results are analysed. Current status of retaining experts, staffs, administrators in terms of aviation safety tasks of low cost carriers is compared to those of major airliner and low cost carriers' aviation safety culture is also analyzed by examining the systems and questioning staffs. Especially the culture regarding aviation safety is very important because the culture surrounding the safety tasks plays a major role in every respect of conducting the tasks. Results - Overall the current status of low cost carriers' aviation safety tasks is below standard. Especially retaining experts and staffs is basically below the required level. Also, system and organization to conduct safety tasks are not satisfactory. In particular, aviation safety culture is not settled to operate appropriately. Conclusions - The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and member states are continuing to launch new safety policies in response to the surging demand for air travel worldwide. The most urgent and important issue among the various safety policies is to reduce air accidents. In order to reduce the number of accidents, ICAO decided to reduce the number of accidents by using the Reactive Safety Management. ICAO has to ensure that each member country can implement proactive safety management for aviation safety. A safety management system (Safety Management System) is a system in which each member state implements a fulfillment standard. The current situation and problems of the safety management system for each airline are suggested and proposed for improvements.

본 연구의 목적은 국내 저가항공사의 노선 효율성을 평가하는 데 있다. 저가 항공사의 경우 정규 항공사와 달리 국내선과 근거리 국제선만을 운영하고 있어서 매출수익의 원천이 정규항공사에 비해서 다양하지 않다. 특히, 국내 저가 항공사의 경우 화물운송 없이 여객운송과 부가서비스를 통하여 매출수익을 올리고 있다. 때문에 저비용 고효율의 여객운송 노선을 유지하는 것이 절대적으로 중요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 국내 저비용 항공사가 운영하는 노선과 정규 항공사의 노선들의 상대적 효율성을 평가하고, 평가한 효율성을 바탕으로 노선 효율성을 개선할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 분석 방법은 자료포락법(DEA)을 사용하였고, 기존 문헌연구를 통하여 투입과 산출 요소를 선정하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 기반으로 항공사의 노선 및 판매 전략 수립에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.
