  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin films have been attracted lots of interests in large-area light-emitting display. In this stuffy, an emissive layer was fabricated using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique in organic light-emitting (OLEDs). This emissive organic material was synthesized and named PECCP[poly(3.6-N-2-ethylhexyl carbazolyl cyanoterephthalidene)] which has a strong electron donor group and an electron acceptor group in main chain repeated unit. This material has good solubility in common organic solvents such as chloroform. THF, etc, and has a good stability in air. The Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique has the advantage of precise control of the thickness down to the molecular scale, In particular, by varying the film thickness it is possible to investigate the metal/polymer interface. Optimum conditions for the LB film deposition are usually determined by investigating a relationship between a surface pressure $\pi$ and an effective are A occupied by one molecule on the subphase. The LB films were deposited on an indium-tin-oxide(ITO) glass at a surface pressure of 10 mN/m and dipping speed of 12 mm/min after spreading PECCP solution on distilled water surphase at room temperature, Cell structure was ITO/PECCP LB film/Alq$_3$/Al. We considered PECCP as a hole -transport layer inserted between the emissive layer and ITO. We also used Alq$_3$ as an emissive layer and an electron transport layer. We measured current-voltage(I-V) characteristics, UV/visible absorption, PL spectrum and EL spectrum of the OLEDs.

  • We investigate characteristics of J-aggregation as take advantage of LB technic. In order to confirm the applications possible for the molecular electronic device, the morphological properties of merocyanine dye were investigated by AFM. $\pi$-A curves investigated the surface pressure of the LB film from a liquid to a solid state ranged between 90 and 100 mN/m. We observed aggregation and it's characteristics by using visible reflection spectroscopy. This paper focuses on results obtained in mercocyanide dye. When LB films of merocyanine dye are mixed with arachidic acid, J-aggregate formation is exhibited. J-aggregate formation has been serving as typical systems in revealing the physical and structural aspects of nano-sized molecular aggregates constructed as muiltilayers.

  • The basic electrochemical and photochemical behavior of ultrathin mono- and hetero-type LB film of amphiphilic Ru bipyridine complex adsorbed on ITO electrode by the Langmuir- Blodgett(LB) method as monolayer and alternating multilayer state. With theoretical equation of cyclic voltammetry for redox species, the cyclic voltammogram were simulated successfully taking account the interaction parameters. We could fit almost all measured voltammograms with k$^{\circ}$=72s$\^$-1/, ${\alpha}$$\sub$a/=0.44, ${\alpha}$$\sub$c/=0.54, $\Gamma$$\sub$T/=1.4${\times}$10$\^$-10/, k=0.015s$\^$-1/ values. The AFM images of mono and hetero type LB film surfaces on ITO were also studied.

  • In conducting systems based on Langmuir - Blodgett (LB) films, tetracyanoquinodimethane(TCNQ) derivatives have been extensively studied as electron acceptor molecules. We have fabricated N-docosyl N'-methyl viologen diTCNQ (DMVT) anion radical LB film and investigated the FT-IR, ESR, and AFM images as the optical, magnetic properties and morphology of the LB film. We have measured in-plane electrical conductivity with number of layers. The in-plane conductivities are approximately $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-6}\;S/cm$.

  • In this research, We fabricated Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) ultra-thin films with (N-docosyl quinolinium)- TCNQ(1:2) complex. The characteristics ${\pi}$-A isotherms were studied to find optimum conditions of deposition by varing temperature of subphase, compression speed of barrier and amount of spreading solution. Film formation was verified by measuring transfer ratio, maximum absorption of UV-vis spectra, capacitance and ellipsometry. From the results, it was concluded that the LB film formed well with molecular oder was fabricated.

  • We investigated the electrochemical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of functionalized polyimide. LB films of polyimide monolayer were deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass. The electrochemical properties measured by cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) at various concentrations(0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 N) of $NaClO_4$ solution. The current of reduction and oxidation range was measured from 1650 mV to -1350 mV, continuously. The scan rates were 50, 100 and 150 mV/s, respectively. As a result, monolayer and multilayer LB films of polyimide are appeared on irreversible process caused by the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram.

  • Abstract We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 10[mN/m]. In processing of a device manufacture, we can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/Poly-${\gamma}$ Benzyl $_D$-Glutamate/Al; the number of accumulated layers is 1, 3, 5 and 7. Also, we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0 to +2[V]. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system. LB film accumulated by monolayer on an ITO. In the cyclicvoltammetry, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode measured in $LiBF_4$ solution, stable up to 0.9V vs. Ag/AgCl.

  • Transformation of molecular film occurs only usually in air-water interface, 2 dimensions domain's growth and crash are achieved. Organic matter thin film that accumulate molecular film in archaism board only that consist of growth of domain can understand correct special quality of accumulation film supplying information about fine structure and properties of matter of device observing information and so on that is surface forward player and optic enemy using AFM one of SPM application by nano electronics. The stable images are probably due to a strong interaction between the monolayer film and glass substrate. We are unable to obtain molecule resolution in images of the films but did see a marked contrast between images of the bare substrate and those with the network structure film deposited onto it. • This paper demonstrates details of thermal behavior of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film of poly(tert-butyl methacrylate) (PtBMA) by using the principal component analysis based two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (PCA2D) through eigenvalue manipulating transformation (EMT). By uniformly lowering the power of a set of eigenvalues associated with the original data, the smaller eigenvalues becomes more prominent and the subtle contribution from minor components is now highlighted much more strongly than the original data. Thus, the subtle difference of thermal behavior of LB film of PtBMA from minor components, which is not readily detectable in the conventional 2D correlation analysis, is much more noticeable than the original data. PCA2D correlation spectra with EMT operation for the temperature-dependent IR spectra of LB film of PtBMA reveal the hidden property of phase transition processes during heating.
