메로시아닌 색소 LB막의 상호혼합효과에 의한 J-aggregates 편광특성 (Polarization Properties of J-aggregates by Mutual Mixing Effect in the LB Films of Merocyanine Dyes)

  • The physical properties of the LB films with merocyanine dyes have been published and attract attention due to the possibility of molecular structure control. The evaluation of the thin films was focused for the purpose of molecular structure control. The molecular structure in the case of the thin films with dyes can be examine by optical absorption spectra measurements. In the result measured by optical absorption spectra, the $[DX]_{1-x}[DO]_x$ LB films shows a large in-plane anisotropy and the transition dipole moment of red-shifted band is preferentially oriented perpendicular to the dipping direction of the film, while that of the blue-shifted band prefers the dipping direction. The spectrum for $0_{\circ}$, $90_{\circ}$-polarized light coincides with the spectrum for non-polarized light and also with the spectrum was observed in the LB film deposited using a fresh solution. These results show that the aging process does not cause a structural change in chromophore but a change in the degree of molecular orientation. In the results, study of the merocyanine dyes LB films using optical absorption spectra would an interesting problem of absorbance peak shifts and mixed components.

  • The use of preformed polymers and their cross-linking have been a attempted in order to improve the intrinsic fraqility of monolayers and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB)films and to make their technological applications possible. It has shown that an imidization followed a polyion-complexation can stabilize the LB films against heat and solvents. And when the polymer structure was properly designed concurrent removal of the alkyl tails together with imide formation could be accomplished. In this paper we present a characteristic monolayer behavior of polymer with pendent polythers and carboxyls it’s polyion-complexed LB film with subphase polymer PAA and a possible skeletonization of the LB film by thermal imidization. Also deposition status of LB films are evaluated by using QCM

  • Langmuir-Blodgett method is the best candidate for the development of the future molecular electronic devices. But, this molecular thin film devices requires the bulk properties that was influenced by the molecular arrangements and orientations. So, these are of current interest in molecular electronic device fabrications of new materials. In this experiment, the N-docosylquinolium-TCNQ LB films were deposited on the surface pressures of 30 mN/m and 45 mN/m. We measured the polarized UV/visible absorptions of deposited films for the study of the molecular arrangements and orientations. The polarized UV/visible absorption variation on the incidence and polarization angle of the LB film deposited on the surface pressure of 45 mN/m shown methodically variated. So, we concluded that the LB film deposited on 45 mN/mwas arranged better than that obtained at 30 mN/m.

지방산과 폴리아미드산 혼합물의 광이성질화 현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Photoisomerization of Fatty Acid and Polyamic Acid Mixture)

  • Maxwell displacement current (MDC) measuring technique has been applied on the study of monolayers of fatty acid and polyamic acid mixture. The displacement current was generated from monolayers on the water surface by monolayer compression and expansion. Displacement current was generated when the area per molecule was about 132 $^2$and 115 $^2$just before the initial rise of the surface pressure during the 1st and 2nd mixed monolayer compressions cycle, respectively. Maxwell displacement currents were investigated in connection with mixed monolayer compression cycles. It was found that the maximum of MDC appeared at the molecular area just before the initial rise of surface pressure in compression cycles. Ultra thin film of fatty acid and polyamic acid mixture was prepared on the hydrophilic quartz plate by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. The precursor LB film was heated in a vacuum dry oven at 12$0^{\circ}C$ in order to convert it into the LB film of polyimide. The absorption spectra of LB films were also induced photoisomerization by UV and visible light irradiation.

폴리이미드와 인지질 혼합물의 나노 Langmuir-Blodgett막의 전기화학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrochemical Properties of Langmuir-Blodgett Nano-film Mixed with Polyimide and Phospholipid)

  • 우리는 순환전압전류법에 의한 폴리이미드와 인지질혼합 나노LB 필름에 대한 전기화학적 특성을 조사하였다. polyamic acid와 인지질 단분자 LB막은 ITO glass에 Langmuir-Blodgett법을 사용하여 제막하였다. 전기화학적 특성은 $KClO_4$ 용액에서 3 전극 시스템 (Ag/AgCl 기준전극, 백금선 카운터 전극 및 LB 필름이 코팅된 ITO 작업 전극)으로 순환전압전류법을 사용하여 측정하였다. 측정 범위는 연속적으로 1650 mV로 산화시키고, 초기전위인 -1350 mV로 환원시켰다. 주사속도는 각각 50, 100, 150, 200 및 250 mV/s였다. 그 결과 polyamic acid와 인지질 혼합물의 LB 필름은 순환전압전류도표로부터 환원전류로 인한 비가역공정으로 나타났다. Polyamic acid와 인지질혼합 LB막에서 확산계수(D)효과는 LAPC를 사용한 경우가 LLPC를 사용한 것 보다 확산계수 값이 적었다.

  • We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 30[mN/m]. LB layers of Arac. acid deposited by LB method were deposited onto slide glass as Y-type film. The physicochemical properties of the LB films were examined by UV absorption spectrum, SEM and AFM. The structure of manufactured device is Au/arachidic acid/Al. the number of accumulated layers are 3~9. Also. we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from -3 to +3[V]. The insulation property of a thin film is better as the distance between electrodes is larger.

  • In this paper, we synthesized poly(N-(2-4-imidazolyl) ethyl) maleimide-alt-1-octadecene(IMI-O) polymer that can have function group and improvement of mechnical strength and then confirmed the possibility of molecular device made by LB method. Evaluation of LB film have been processed such as the technique of EA, $^{1}$H-NMR, FT-IR. Also, the deposition status was observed by SEM and Metal/Insulator/Metal(MIM) device was fabricated for investigation of electric properties. In our experimental results. The surface pressure for the solid state was investigated to 20~35[dyne/cm] by the $\pi$ -A isotherm and the limiting area was about 40 ~45 ($\AA$$^2$/molecule). The deposition status of LB films was confirmed by SEM. The conductivity of LB film was found to be 10$^{-14}$ ~10$^{-13}$ [S/cm] by I-V characteristic.

메로시아닌 색소 LB 단분자막의 광메모리 특성에 관한 정성적 연구 (A qualitative study of photomemory characteristics of the LB monolayer films of merocyanine dye)

  • The structural changes of the merocyanine monolayer LB (Langmuir Blodgett) films were investigated. These changes were compared with the typical changes of the molecular structures of merocyanine solutions. The structural changes of quinoid/benzenoid were attained by exposure to atmosphere gases (HCl gas, N $H_{3}$ gas). The photoisomerization was not observed for the monolayer LB film due to their state of $M_{trans}$. But we could obtain the cis/trans photoisomerization characteristics reversibly, after the films were changed to M $H^{+}$$_{trans}$ structure by exposure to HCl gas. We also found that the cis/trans photoisomerization of the LB monolayer films show the memory characteristics.s.

  • Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films of arachic acid and TCNQ(tetracyanoquinodimethane) were prepared in the sample of Al/LB film/Al type where Al are electrodes, and polarization in LB film and dipolar moment of molecules in the films were measured by themally stimulated current(TSC). It is ascertaind in our experiments that dipolar mament of $C_{12}$TCNQ molecule was about 13-15 debye and the moment was directed from the alkyle chain toward TCNQ. Generation of the open circuit voltage was investigated on the z-type and Hetero structure of LB films.

  • We carried out this subject to observe electrochemical properties of 1,2-dioleoyl-sn- glycero-3-phosphocholine(DOPC) mixed with fatty acid containing azobenzene group by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode in $NaClO_4$ solution. We investigated the photoisomerization and electrochemical property of the organic ultra thin film of fatty acid containing azobenzene was prepared on the hydrophilic ITO(idium tin oxide) glass plate by LB method. As a result, the absorption spectra of BASH and DOPC of mixture LB films was induced to photoisomerization by alternating irradiation of ultraviolet and visible light. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV and measured to the initial point. The scan rate were 50, 100, 150 and 200 mV/s. As a results, LB films of BASH-DMPC appeared reversible process caused by the reduction-oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram.
