Cultural Services Assessment in DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) Border Areas (DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) 접경지역의 문화서비스 평가)

  • This study examines the appropriateness of indicators and methodologies through the evaluation of cultural services in border areas and uses them as basic data for the ecosystem service-based management of border areas, which are key domestic ecological assets. Accordingly, in this study, seven border cities and counties were evaluated and compared based on the evaluation indicators and methods presented by the National Institute of Ecology. As a result of the cultural service evaluation, it was found that Paju City was superior in leisure and tourism, Inje-gun was best in scenic beauty and heritage, and Yanggu-gun was strongest in education, and Inje-gun in heritage. Accordingly, through this study, future tasks for comprehensive cultural service evaluation were presented as follows. First, in order to evaluate ecosystem services at the national and regional levels, it is necessary to establish an indicator system for cultural service evaluation and monitoring. Second, when building a cultural service evaluation index system, it is necessary to review upper and lower conceptual units and the consistency between indicators according to the scale of the evaluation region. Third, a specific review of DB utilization for cultural service evaluation should be conducted depending on the type of ecosystem. Lastly, given the significant lack of domestic cultural service research, additional basic research must be conducted to evaluate cultural services including non-material and qualitative perceptions. In order to evaluate cultural services in the future, additional basic research is needed for each ecosystem type, and a process of finding appropriate evaluation indicators and methods through research is necessary.

A study of sight-psychological effects by a color area of greenspace (녹지의 색면적에 따른 시각심리적 효과에 관한 연구)

  • We compared the electroencephalogram, blood pressure, and sensory evaluation inspectioni several color of Petunia hybrida to analyze the physiopsychological effects of a plant. Considering occipital is related to visuosensory field, green color is thought as mild visual stimulator unlike to pink color. The results are coincident with the well-known facts that green color is less stimulating color. It is also accorded with the sensory evaluation results that green color showed te feeling of blue and stable. In case of green color is showed the feeling of blue and stable. In case of green color the generatioin of alpha waves increased according to the increase color area. Therefore it is thought that green color helps decrease of visual stimulation and increase in visual stability. However it is thought that pink has less physiopsychological effects on human beings depending on area sizes than green has.

An Assessment on Environment Friendliness of National Park Facilities in Korea (국립공원 시설의 친환경성 평가)

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate environmental friendliness for facilities of national park to improve naturalness of national park. We have evaluated environmental friendliness of the facilities in Chirisan national park in terms of resource conservation and environmental integration, which are consisted of 9 and 8 evaluation indicators, respectively. Environmental friendliness of the small facilities was not good due to not using locally obtained materials and natural material, and that of large and complex facilities was bad in the field of excessive damage during construction, inadequate maintenance, use of natural material, locally obtained material, environmental integration with surroundings. In evaluating environmental attributes, new facilities is better than the older ones. The small facilities appeared to be worse than those of the complex, and the large facilities are the worst in terms of environmental friendliness. In general, environmental friendliness turned out to be lower in the light of the facilities in the clustered area than those of the facilities of the other area. In the future, It is required that criteria for evaluating environmental friendliness of natural park facilities is established.

  • Muju Resort Development environmental impact statement(EIS) in Mt. Teogyu National Park are evaluated with the results of post-environmental evaluation. Three EIA items (ecosystem, hydrology, landuse) are investigated. In terms of ecosystem and hydrology, the environment during construction period was compared with post-construction and it was also true of hydrology section. The land use surrounding the resort area have been changed seriously, and the wildlife in large patch are endangered with the fragmentation by road and resort construction. The three items in the Muju Resort EIS was not assessed properly. So, in order to assess properly accurate data, appropriate approach, and periodical post evaluation are required.

Development of Methods to lmprove the Reliability of ELECTRE (복합기준 평가방법 ELECTRE의 신뢰도 증진을 위한 방안 연구)

  • ELEECTRE is a less demanding and potentially Bffective multiattribute evaluation method for pre-editing proeedure. The method, however, was developed based on probabilistic mathematicsand its reliability has never'been emprieally tested. This article examined the reliability of ELECTRo under various conditions of linear and non-linear utility func- tions using a Monte-Carlo shnulation, and found the method eausea a considerably high rate of error. To enhance the reliability of ELECTRE, two ways of modi(ication - adjust- ment of threshold values of concordance and discordance matrices, and adjustment of the required nunlber of probably-dominant alternatives to eliminate a probably-dominated alternative - were suggested, and their effctiveness was also tesed by a Monte-Carlo simulation. The simulation result chows that these modifications cponsiderably improve the reliability of ELECTRE, and yet maintain a reasonably high level of efficiency. Through these modifications, ELECTRE can be used as an efficient and feliable pre-editing method. Ways to implement ELECTRE in the construction of plainning decision support systens were discussed. The impli(els combination of this method and other multiattribute evaluation methods will help to create more effective decision suport systems.

  • 본 연구의 대상지는 미국 뉴욕(New York)주 이타카(Ithaca)시에 있는 코넬대학교 (Cornell University)의 미혼자와 기혼자 대학원생 및 그 가족을 위한 캠퍼스 주택인 Maplewood Park이다. 연구자인 동시에 디자이 너의 입장에서 필자는 다음의 4가지 방법을 가지고 이 Maplewood Park에 대한 이용후 평가(post-occupancy evaluation)를 실시하였다: 1)물리적 흔 적 관찰(observing physical traces), 2)행태 관찰(observing physical traces), 3)면담(interviews), 4)설문지(questionnaires). 본 연구는 주거 환경 의 옥외공간이 가지고 있는 물리적 특징과 성질에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연 구는 행태 자료 수집에서부터 완성된 주택단지의 개선을 위한 디자인 제안 까지의 전 과정을 보여주며 주거 환경의 실제 이용자인 주택 단지 거주자 로부터 획득한 체계적이고 객관적인 행태와 태도에 관한 자료에 근거하여, 장래에 있을 유사한 주택 단지 건설을 위한 디자인 기준을 제시하고자 한다.

Evaluation of the City Residents' images on the Landscape of the Rural Traditional Theme Village (농촌전통마을 경관에 대한 도시주민의 이미지 평가)

  • This study analyzes the behaviors and images of city residents on the six Gyeongsangbuk-do rural theme villages. The results of analysis bring the following conclusions. 1) Behaviors of city residents are related with the images on rural villages. In addition, the better the image is, the higher their behaviors' needs. 2) Behaviors' needs become higher on the village as the image on 'Scale type' becomes better. 3) Especially, in case of Gimcheon and Gyeongju, we find a strong relationship between the images of 'Scale type' and 'Magnificent type' and behaviors; these villages should raise the scale and standard of villages by certain point.

A Study on the Morphological Management of Major Landscape Elements in Organic Farming (유기농업단지 주요경관요소의 물리적 관리방안에 관한 연구)

  • Up to date, the majority research on the major landscape elements in organic farming has been mainly focused on the practice of seeking efficiency. The problem is that this type of study contributes to polluting the agricultural environment and damaging the ecological circulation system. As an alternative, there is a growing body of research on organic farming, but it is not widely applied that research on how to manage the landscape considering the scenic characteristics of farming villages practicing organic farming. Therefore, this study was carried out in the conservative aspects of rural landscapes in order to effectively manage the landscape of organic agriculture and, intended to be used to maintain and preserve natural and ecologically harmonious landscapes by deriving management methods suitable for landscape elements targeting the major landscape elements of the organic farming complex. To carry out, this study performed the experts survey which is composed of 13 major landscape elements, including rice paddies and fields, monoculture and diverse crops, dirt roads, windbreak trees, accent planting, dum-bung(small pond), natural small river, natural waterways, plastic film houses, one-storied houses, and pavilion. As a result, Farm land was formed in a square shape, concentrated in an independent space, planted companion plants around the crop, and covered with plants to manage the borders. As for the surrounding environment, it was analyzed that the aspart road system circulating through the village, the evergreen broad-leaved windbreak forest around the cultivated land, and the accent plant located at the entrance of the village were suitable. The hydrological environment consists of Round small pond made of stone in an open space, natural rivers around the village, and natural channels around the farmland, and The Major facilities are suitable for greenhouses that are shielded by plants in independent regions, and wooden duck houses located inside the cultivation area are suitable and The settlement facilities were analyzed to be suitable for single-story brick houses located in independent residential areas, pavilion located with greenery in the center of the village, and educational spaces shielded with wood from arable land. If supplementary evaluation criteria suitable for the management of organic farming landscape are additionally supplemented based on the results derived from this study, It is expected to enhance the landscape value of ecologically superior organic farming.

The Potential Assessment and Creation Programming of Biotopes in Small and Medium City in Korea (우리나라 중소도시 비오톱 공간의 조성방안)

  • This study suggests the methods of the assessment and creation of biotopes in small and medium sized cities, in Korea. For this purpose, Chonju city was selected to classify and asses the biotope types. Moreover, relevant legislations to conserve and enhance urban biotopes were examined. The results of this study are as follows: 1) There were two approaches to asses the potential of urban biotopes in medium-sized cities. One was the urban scale evaluation for urban green spaces and the other was the biotope scale evaluation for the classification and evaluation of biotopes. 2) The urban scale evaluation was developed through overlaping analysis of landuse and vegetation factors. This study also included the conception of watershed. In this conception, three watersheds in Chonju city were characterized. According to these characteristics, individual programs for conservation and enhancement of urban green space were suggested. 3) For the biotope scale evaluation, Selected site was inclusively mapped and field investigation actually was carried. There were total 9 types of bitopes. Especially landuse was appeared in various evaluation items were vegetation structure, area of green space, condition of vegetation and vegetation profile. Mt, Gonji and Dukjin park, Chonbuk national University and fields were evaluated highly I the potential. 4) The biotope programs were based on the results of assessment and physical characteristics of biotopes. The uniform and simple levels on vegetation must be modified with various levels of vegetation structure and vernacular plants. And the physical characteristics like Points, Corridors and Patches can be organized by the conception of biotope networking theory. 5) The proper legislative environment was the clue elements for the biotope programs. Until now, only five types of parks and two types of green space are defined and the minimum size of green space has been proposed by the law. So, it is necessary to enlarge the conception of green space in legislation and improve the quality of green space by amending the related regulations. This study has limitation because it was selected only in Chonju. Through the continuous studies, we need to apply this other small and medium sized cities, South Korea. Also the data collection and management of theme maps such as actual vegetation, landuse and a soil must be done preliminary.
