Optically active (R,Z)-(-)-5-tetradecen-4-olide, the pheromone of Popillia japonica Newman was synthesized from (R)-2,3-O-isopropylideneglyceraldehyde as starting material. The biological activity test of the synthetic pheromone as attractant for the male Japanese beetle was tested in Korea.

Adsorption of 1,3-propanedithiol, 1,4-butanedithiol, 1,5-pentanedithiol, and 1,6-hexanedithiol on silver surface has been investigated by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. It has been found that the conformations of the adsorbates were mainly affected by steric interaction of the adsorbates with the surface. As the alkyl chain length separating the thiol groups increased, surface stacking efficiency became increasingly important in determining conformation of the adsorbate on the surface.

The optimal control problem of linear Lumped Parameter Systems (LPS) and Distributed Parameter Systems (DPS) is studied by employing the technique of Walsh functions (WF). By the using the elegant operational properties of WF, a direct computational algorithm for evaluating the optimal control and trajectory of LPS and DPS is developed. Without the need of solving the traditional matrix Riccati equation, the WF approach in shown very simple in form and convenient for use of a computer. The approximation is in the sense of least squares employing WF as the basis and the results are in the piecewise constant and discrete form.

전력시스템에서 설치 운영되는 설비나 장치들을 감시, 제어하는 시스템은 산업 현장이나 기관에서 개발 운영하고 있다. 배전계통에서도 마찬가지로 여러 설비와 장치들 즉, 배전선로에 설치된 개폐기나 리클로져 등을 감시, 제어하는 배전자동화시스템, 배전반등을 감시하는 전력감시 제어시스템, 발전소나 대규모 수용가에서 사용하는 전력량이나 계량정보등을 검침하는 원격검침시스템 등이 있다. 이러한 시스템에서 배전자동화시스템과 현재 나날이 발전해가는 인터넷을 접속하여 원격지에서의 보다 효율적이고 간편하게 배전계통의 운영을 수행하고, 나아가 그 기반 시스템의 데이터베이스를 관리하여 차후의 계통운용에 기초자료로 사용하며 송 배전 시스템의 전체 구성 및 향후 계획에 기초 자료로 사용할 수 있다.

The orthogonal polynomials have been widely employed to solve control problems, but the LQG(linear quadratic gaussian) problem remains unsolved. In this paper, we obtained the solutions of Riccati equation and covariance matrix Riccati equation by two point boundary problem and matrix fraction method using BPF(Block Pulse Function), respectively. This solutions are solved the problem of the LQG controller design.

This paper presents a method to design Kalman filter on continuous stochastic dynamical systems via BPFT(block pulse functions transformation). When we design Kalman filter, minimum error valiance matrix is appeared as a form of nonlinear matrix differential equations. Such equations are very difficult to obtain the solutions. Therefore, in this paper, we simply obtain the solutions of nonlinear matrix differential equations from recursive algebraic equations using BPFT. We believe that the presented method is very attractive and proper for the evaluation of Kalman gain on continuous stochastic dynamical systems.

In the last several years, considerable attention has been focused on the problem of designing observers for linear systems with unknown inputs. Since UIO(unknown inputs observer) has the derivative of the outputs, it is very sensitive to measurement noises. Therefore this note propose an algebraic approach to UIO design to alleviate the prescribed problems. Since the proposed method has simple form to estimate state and unknown input and robustness to sensor noise, we believe that it is very attractive in practice.

Generally, The modeling method for the mathematical model is mdeled by using the physical laws and the system identification. In this paper, The arago's disk system of the operating principle of induction motors is selected as an example for identification. The system transfer function is derived from input/output data through experiment. Model is estimated by using ARX, ARMAX, BJ, OE model structure and compared each other.

As mentioned above, I have acquired some valuable results about medical treatments with acupuncture for "Tennis elbow" after studying oriental medical books. 1. In "HungTiNeiChing", there was called "joo-ryun" and "joo-mang" related to "Tennis elbow". 2. The medriens which remedy for 'tennis elbow' are as follow : 'Soo-yangmyoung', 'Soo-soyang', 'Soo-taeeum', 'Soo-gueleum', 'Chok-taeyang', 'Soo-taeyang' and 'Soo-soeum' in the order of frequency of use. 3. The acupuncture points which remady for 'tennis elbow' are as follow : 'Gok-ji', 'Soo-sam-ri', 'Joo-ryo', 'Hap-gok' and 'Woe-kwan' in the order of frequency of use. 4. Medical treatment with acupuncture is based on occuring area of pain and path of 'Kyoung-Rak'.
