As a rapid supply of a culture facility the change of living style bring on needs about storage space in the residence space. This study choose Hong Je Dong-Byuk San 4 type apartment house which was built in 1990 as research target and we selected 4type of a total 12house and we choose LDK as a research target that is high in a requirement and utilization other space is excluded in this study. We can expect that the apartment house will be differed with area of living space of apartment house in the requirement of storage space. Small apartment house is requried various storage planning because of confined living space But big apartment houses required storage planning of simple type because it have already storage space. So we have to do efficiency storage planning because of limited space in the apartment house. Base on this results we will show storage space according to the type of pyeong. So this study show proper storage type according to the scale of apartment house,.

The purpose of this study is to advance apartment houses in quality as a residence through revitalization of tradition and the procedures are as follows: The first procedure is theoretical contemplation. The second procedure is analysis of the traditional residential space that gives a starting point of introspection of it without cease at the stage of formal following or pattern application in revitalizing tradition in the apartment houses. And the third procedure is to select and suggest aspects applicable to developing Korean style apartment houses. The suggest is embodied by a plane figure of 55 pyong type apartment house after selecting the concrete development aspects with approaches such as arrangement and interior space analysis, behavior analysis and space division and design analysis. This study has its meaning in that it suggests a possibility of various approaches other than formal following or pattern application in revitalizing tradition in a new Korean type apartment house, that it gives another selection to diversifying consumers' patterns and that it helps recognize and develop our tradition in this age of cultural nationalism.

The purpose of this study is to understand various styles of Korean house living, up to the present, to identify apartment living as the main house living, and plan and propose the interior unit spaces for apartment house based on the analysis on living space. A survey study was conducted to deduce the traditional major life style and its changes along with favorable housing spaces. In conclusion, this study proposed the unit space planning requirements that satisfies the conceptual and interior elements for habitant's characteristics and preference according to major life style as follow; 1) As the Ahn-bang(master bed room) has been changed from traditional space concept, it is mainly used as private space for husband and wife, and its utilized period is mostly at night time, the back-arrangement of the Ahn-bang should be considered. 2) As the living room is central space in the apartment housing and has complex functions which is utilized as space for family gathering and guest reception similar to the Ahn-bang of the traditional house, it should secure more space and it is desirable to arrange the space as open type by combining the pathway area. 3) As for the kitchen/dining room, the kitchen should be isolated from external attraction and the space for storing and preparing traditional foods should also considered, and the dining room should be arranged as open type. This study also suggests that since the apartment housing must be an integrated environment for habitants which satisfy behavioral, physical and mental elements simultaneously, the unit housing space should be constantly analyzed in various ways to produce a housing space which meet both their changing major life style and the temporal environment.

In this study, we would like to suggest a virtual model house where the users participate in the planning of the apartment directly in order to supply the apartment which is suitable for the fast change of the resident's characterization, multiplication, and preference in this like high-speed information society. The users have various preferences and demands in the high level information society. It is necessary for the architect to communicate with the users in order to suggest the various styles of habitats that one can treat various life style and life cycle which reflects the demand. In addition, the object of this paper is the construction and using of the participating virtual model house that the resident can plan the preferred space design of the main house before moving Into the apartment and change space design of the main house after moving into the apartment following the variety of life style and the changing of life cycle. Regarding the effect of this study, firstly, it is possible to supply the plate type following the user's preference in order to enhance the quality of uniformed type apartment. Secondly, it is possible to maintain and control the high quality building using sharing the building information with planning, construction, maintain, interior, and related company by constructing the database. Thirdly, the unified database which is constructed by XML can supply the effective environment of apartment information exchange between other companies.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of demographic and housing life-style variables on evaluation or choice criteria to the decision making for purchasing house. The results of this research were as follows ; 1) In analysis on housing life-style according to demographic variables, it showed that the age group had significant difference in decoration pursuits ; the educational group had significant difference in self-expression ; the income group had significant difference in self-expression and interior function. 2) In analysis on evaluation or choice criteria of decision making for purchasing house according to demographic variables, it showed that : the age group had significant difference in surrounding environment ; the educational group had significant difference in interior environment, interior or exterior facilty, apartment management, economics and surrounding environment ; the income group had significant difference in avail of approach, convenience facilities, apartment management, economics and surrounding environment. 3) In analysis the influence of demographic and housing life-style variables on evaluation or choice criteria to decision making for purchasing house, it was effected on educational level, decoration pursuit, practicality and ostentation in interior environment ; decoration pursuit, self-expression, interior function and practicality in interior or exterior facility ; decoration pursuit, practicality and ostentation in avail ability of approach and convenience facilities ; self-expression, practicality and ostentation in apartment management and economics ; age level, income level, decoration pursuit, self-expression, practicality and ostentation in surrounding environment.

The objective of this research is an investigation and analysis of life style and preference trend for dwelling for 450 university students. The major findings are as follows: (1) The life style is classified into 3 categories according to the priority of fashion and privacy, brand and social relationship, and family and domesticity. Women give priority to fashion and privacy as well as family and domesticity than men do. (2) Dwelling awareness is grouped into 3; one for pursuing the value of asset, another with the inclination to residential transition and the other for preferring for a detached house. Women have a stronger inclination to the economical value of house and prefers to live in the big city than men do. (3) As a factor affecting the dwelling preference, men give priority to the exterior condition such as environment, but women do the interior condition like the size of house. Men and Women showed various preferences for housing style such as detached house, villa, apartment and commercial complex dwelling, which is accord with the present housing style.

This work is aimed at estimating the effects of various factors on the energy consumption of Korean-style apartment houses using TRNSYS. The factors considered here include the nominal size of floor area, type of remodeling, azimuth, sidewall insulation, and window type. Based on some assumptions, an actual apartment house is simplified into a model that is used for thermal load calculations. The simplified model is validated by showing a good agreement with the actual one in the predicted result. Remodeling balconies into unconditioned buffer spaces yields a favorable thermal performance in comparison with the original type regardless of the nominal size. Incorporating balconies into a conditioned indoor space leads to sharp increases in thermal loads, which must be avoided in view of energy conservation as well as structural problem. A quantitative assessment on the azimuthal effect indicates that the heating energy can be saved up to 16％ by taking the south or southeast direction. Reduction in the heating load with enhancing the sidewall insulation is gradual, so that a cost-effectiveness analysis may be needed when amending the regulations concerned. Glazing appears to significantly affect the heat transfer through window. A typical case illustrates that the heating load is decreased about 25％ by simply adopting triple glazing instead of double glazing.

Nowadays the increasing improvement of quality of life have been required more diversified housing environment. And it also focused on concern about Korean traditional housing style, Hanok. There were several studies applied to traditional style design on Hanok. but few on Hanokstyle apartment. So the purpose of this study were to identify the consumer awareness on Hanok style apartment plan and its design details. The research were done by questionnaire methode. It were distributed to 130 city and rural residents. 109 questionnaires were analyzed by frequency, Percentage, $x^2$-test, F-test, ANOVA, t-test, and factor analysis. The major results were as follows. First, 70% of respondents revealed their intention to live in Hanokstyle housing if it has improved conveniency and lowered maintenance expenses. Second, they preferred under 5 story row house type or apartment type Hanok located in suburbs. Third, Hanokstyle apartment characteristics were expected to have visual openness, good view, traditional decor, functional, rhythmical and transitional space. And also they wanted traditional Madang(inner garden) and Maru(a wooden floor room) located next to living room.

The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for the actual conditions and the preference of student housing in a regional university. The data are collected through questionnaire surveys from the students of a regional university. 265 samples are collected, and are analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The results are as follows: 1) The actual conditions of student housing Most residents of student housing(76.3%) come from the Capital region. Most of student housing are located at 30 minute distance from the school. Most of house style are Offistel as one room style. Most of housing size are within 10 minute distance from the school. Most of house style are Offistel as one room style. Most of housing size are within 10py, and two people reside in one unit. The average hours of staying at the student housing are over 10 hours. The most inconvenient factor is the lack of soundproofing in the current student housing. 2) The preference of student housing The most preferred location is in the walking distance from the school, and the apartment is the most preferred housing style. The most preferred installation of inside is internet connection. When choosing student housing, students prefer the distance from the school as the most important factor. Most female students reside with a roommate within 10 py of housing size, cook for themselves, and consider rent and maintenance fee as the decision factors in choosing housing. The most preferred style of house is apartment, and they prefer to install basic furniture and kitchen system inside of housing. As students go up to higher grade, they prefer the apartment, and prefer to cook for themselves. More fresh men reside with a roommate compared to other grades. They prefer Offistel with meals service at a walking distance from the school.
