  • A smart tourism chatbot is needed as a user interface to efficiently provide smart tourism services such as recommended travel products, tourist information, my travel itinerary, and tour guide service to tourists. We have been developed a smart tourism app and a smart tourism information system that provide smart tourism services to tourists. We also developed a smart tourism chatbot service consisting of khaiii morpheme analyzer, rule-based intention classification, and tourism information knowledge base using Neo4j graph database. In this paper, we develop the Korean and English smart tourism Name Entity (NE) datasets required for the development of the NER model using the pre-trained language models (PLMs) for the smart tourism chatbot system. We create the tourism information NER datasets by collecting source data through smart tourism app, visitJeju web of Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO), and web search, and preprocessing it using Korean and English tourism information Name Entity dictionaries. We perform training on the KoBERT-CRF NER model using the developed Korean and English tourism information NER datasets. The weight-averaged precision, recall, and f1 scores are 0.94, 0.92 and 0.94 on Korean and English tourism information NER datasets.

  • Korean fisheries societies have had many difficulties for economic, social, and living circumstances. The government has tried many projects to improve these circumstances. But the results of the projects did not come up to his expectation. Recently, blue tourism is emerging as an alternative for improving these circumstances. So we applied a tourism value chain model for identifying what value activities and resources needed. According to the tourism value chain model, it was identified that there were six different value activities, i. e. advertising, reserving, moving, experiencing, returning, and after services of blue tourism. To identify which of the resources are sufficient or not in Korean blue tourism, we compared the required resources with actual ones. It was identified that Korean fisheries societies have so sufficient H/W related resources, but not IT related S/W resources, humanware-based resources, some industrial H/W resources and sociocultural resources. Therefore, Korean blue tourism will be activated, we have to concentrate our efforts on supplementing some scant blue tourism resources, i.e. S/W and humanware related resources and developing a variety of tourism programs to H/W resources. Generally, sustainable tourism needs all of S/W, H/W, and humanware resources. So we suggest several policies for the aspects of S/W, H/W, and humanware resources to activate blue tourism. But before carrying these policies out, they should be tested by field studies. And tourism motivations will be also studied because effective tourism marketing is impossible without an understanding of consumers' motivations.

This study aims to introduce a strategic plan to vitalize the Korean integrated medical tourism so that Korea can differentiate itself from competing countries and create high added value. Methods: The concept and actual conditions of medical tourism and Oriental medical tourism were examined. A plan to differentiate Korea from the competing countries in the medical tourism industry was studied to create high added-value through strategic vitalization of its medical tourism industry. Results: Korean integrated medical tourism must be developed differently from those of other South-East Asian countries in order to strategically promote the cash-cow medical tourism industry. In order to develop such medical tourism, Korean medical practice, which integrates Western and Oriental medicine, is to be developed through mutual understanding and fusion of other disciplines among medical doctors and Oriental medical doctors who are working in local healthcare for health promotion of local residents and disease prevention and control. This will play a key role in developing a unique medical tourism product of Korea by means of strategic alliances as an integrated medicine. Manpower specialized for integrated medicine is to be specially supplied for Oriental medicine-related business lines at city, county and borough levels, among local governments, that are enthusiastically carrying forward Oriental medical tourism with an interest to promoting more active and strategic business development and raise the effectiveness and efficiency of public health centers handling related medical tourism. Manpower specialized for Korean integrated medical tourism is to be specially supplied for the Ministry of Culture, Health and Tourism, a policy control tower to develop and vitalize high value-added fusion (theme) tourism products such as the Korean integrated medical tourism, in order to discover, promote and support Korean integrated medical tourism's differences from existing medical tourism. • This study aims to examine a significant difference in performance of, and attitudes towards, environmental tourism among domestic tourism companies by their types and scale, and to propose a policy direction for a new certification program on environmental tourism. This study conducted a survey with 152 tourism accommodations and 150 travel agencies. As a result, this study found that tourism accommodations and a large scale of companies had participated in environmental management practices more often than travel agencies and a small scale of companies. Also, tourism accommodations were more likely to recognize well a relation between their business and environmental tourism, and were more likely to participate in a new certification program than travel agencies. A large scale of tourism accommodations showed more positive attitudes towards environmental tourism than a small scale of tourism accommodations. On the other hand, all of the travel agencies showed less positive attitudes towards environmental tourism regardless of their size. In conclusion, this study proposed that the government should adopt a different approach to a new certification program according to tourism companies' types and scale, also it should provide a variety of incentives and supports for tourism companies.
