Effect of the ERP Quality on the Performance and Causal-Effect Analysis between Outcome Variables in the Contract Foodservice Management Company (위탁급식 전문업체 전사적자원관리(ERP) 품질이 업무 성과에 미치는 영향과 업무 성과 변수 간 인과관계 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to analyze the effect of the ERP quality (system quality, information quality, service quality) on the performance (end user satisfaction, user's performance, system utilization) of business, 2) to conduct the causal-effect analysis between outcome variables (user's satisfaction, user's performance, system utilization) of ERP in the contract foodservice management company. The questionnaires were distributed to 260 end users (dietitians, foodservice management managers) in charge of managing the institutional foodservice such as the office (government agencies, factories), schools (universities, middle and high school) and hospitals which were managed by contract foodservice management company 'C' in Seoul and Kyunggi. The surveys were performed from July 26, 2004 to July 30. 2004. Two hundred and fifty (250) questionnaires were responded (response rate: 96.2%). The statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Win (11.5). And the descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, pearson correlation, simple and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results showed that among the 3 factors (system quality, information quality, service quality), the system quality and information quality were proved to have an effect on the user's satisfaction and user's performance significantly (p < .05). The influence of ERP quality (system quality, information quality, service quality) on system utilization were testified to be statistically significant (p < .05). The user's performance were affected significantly by system utilization (p < 0.001) and end user's satisfaction (p < 0.001). As a conclusion, to improve user satisfaction, which is the ultimate performance variable of an ERP system, high quality of an ERP system is the pre-requisite. And the user satisfaction and performance of business would be higher with the better quality ERP system. When constructing ERP system for the contract foodservice management company, we should improve system utilization and user satisfaction altogether so that user's performance could be ultimately enhanced and we should make efforts to enhance the quality level of ERP.   • A decision support system DSS-WQMRA (Decision Support System-Water Quality Management in Rural Area) was developed to help regional planners for the water quality management in a rural basin. The integrated model DSS-WQMRA, written in JAVA, includes four subsystems such as a GIS, a database, water quality simulation models and a decision model. In the system, the GIS deals with landuse and the location of pollutant sources. The database manages each data and supplies input data for various water quality simulation models. the water quality simulation model is composed of the GWLF( Generalized Watershed Loading Function), PCLM(Pollutant Loading Calculation Module) and the WASP5 model. The decision model based on mixed integer programming is designed to determine optimal costs and thus allow the selection of managemental practices to meet the water quality criteria. The methodology was tested with an example application in the Bokha River Basin, Kyunggi Province in Korea. It was proved that the integrated model DSS-WQMRA could be very useful for water quality management including the non-point source pollution in rural areas.

  • We study on the Influence of Business Performance by the Defense Quality Management System(DQMS). In this paper, we establish the 7 hypothesis which is as following that Motivation of DQMS certificate and CEO leadership of DQMS certificate will affect the DQMS, DQMS will affect on Quality performance and Customer performance, Quality performance will affect on Customer performance, each of Quality performance and Customer performance will affect Business Performance. By empirical study, we prove all hypothesis is accepted. We hope this result to improve performance and DQMS of corporate which try to take DQMS certificate.

Total quality management Activities Evaluation (TAE) Model by the traditional scoring system and the efficiency measuring system (품질경영활동의 효율성을 고려한 평가모형)

  • To evaluate the total quality activities is the most fundamental and critical process as one of the PDCA cycle. The quality award criteria such as Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and Deming Award can be a, pp.ied to the guideline for evaluating quality activities. We can identify several important factors for TQM by referring quality award criteria, but they don't suggest how efficiently implement TQM. In this paper, two methodologies are a, pp.ied to evaluate the TQM activities comparatively. One of them is the traditional scoring system (TSS) by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). TSS is the system which evaluates the performance of TQM by the weighted sum of critical success factors. Several quality award system are typical examples of TSS. The other is the efficiency measuring system (EMS) by data envelop analysis (DEA). DEA outperformed other alternative methods to measure the efficiency and it can be a, pp.ied to evaluate the TQM activities. The evaluation system by DEA can be named as EMS. The objective of this paper is to suggest a model called TAE (Total quality management Activities Evaluation), for evaluating TQM activities. In this model TQM organizations are classified into four types by considering TSS and EMS. Those types are high weighted sum and high efficiency type, high weighted sum and low efficiency type, low weighted sum and high efficiency type, and low weighted sum and low efficiency type. Therefore TQM organizations must not only make efforts to get the higher scores in terms of TSS, but also take necessary steps to enhance their efficiencies.

  • Quality management work at construction sites demands substantial time and effort, involving the preparation of documents in Excel, approval processes, and the execution of quality tests. These Excel-based tasks include printing quality test reports, performing quality tests, generating and approving test reports, and preparing management ledgers. This division of processes extends the duration of work and diminishes efficiency. Accordingly, a cloud-based construction site quality management system was developed to enhance the productivity of quality management work. The purpose of this study is to analyze the productivity of the construction site quality management system, which is in the early stages of implementation at construction sites. This study implemented the construction site quality management system at a road construction site and scrutinized subsequent alterations in the quality management workflow before and after the implementation. Additionally, a survey was conducted among quality control engineers to collect data on work time both before and after the introduction of the construction site quality management system. Based on the collected data, the Monte-Carlo simulation method was applied to analyze the productivity improvement effect of the construction site quality management system, and the results were presented. The results of this study can serve as foundational data for future research endeavors focused on the automation of quality management works.

  • On this research, recognizing that ship inspection and audit services are closely related in Improving ship safety, the importance of active quality managements of ship inspection and audit services have been notified. For this research, based on previous research results, Quality managements of ship inspection and audit services were divided into the following aspects; the source of quality managements, execution of quality managements and outcome of quality managements. The results of this study is as follows. Overall, it is clearly shown that the elements of quality managements execution such as management responsibilities, resource management., product realization, measurement and analyzation, and improvement had also acted as a mediator between the relation of quality managements source and outcome.

  • ISO 9001:1994 / KS A 9001:1998 was recently revised as ISO 9001:2000 / KS A 9001:2001, so as to be used in non-manufacturing companies as well. In this paper, a model for quality management system in public administration sector was proposed by customizing ISO 9001:2000 / KS A 9001:2001. The proposed model is compatible with ISO 9001:2000 / KS A 9001:2001, and expected to be used as a guideline for those people who are involved in establishing quality administration system in public sector.

  • Purpose: The primary objective of this case study is to establish a COQ(Cost of Quality) management system for power generation industries. Key topics of this study include collecting COQ elements, their classifications, COQ computation formula, and determining COQ improvement projects. Results: A comprehensive set of COQ elements have been isolated for electric power generation companies. The COQ elements were classified in such a way that they could be managed according to the PAF model as well as the SIPOC diagram. This study showed that a systematic approach could be established for monitoring the COQ elements and using them in the process of improving quality competitiveness. Methods: The PAF(Prevention-Appraisal-Failure) model has been employed in the process of collecting COQ elements for a power generation company. All the cost of quality elements were first examined through an extensive review of articles and books in the field of quality. The cost elements were then refined and augmented by conducting a comparative study with international standards. The COQ elements have been verified by a group of quality managers and classified according to both the PAF model and the SIPOC diagram for better understanding in the entire organization. An improvement strategy has been also proposed by using a typical COQ level of power generation companies. Conclusion: The conventional PAF model was used in establishing a COQ management system for power generation industries. This case study illustrates the procedure about identification, classification and computation of quality costs, including selection of improvement projects. The system can be used not only for observing the current state of cost elements related to quality, but also for planning an improvement strategy using the ratio of cost classification.

  • This study aims to development of web-based process management system for spatial data construction. For developing this system work classification of basic surveying was standardized and quality management method for spatial data was established. Production process and work classification system for basic surveying such as control point surveying using GPS, leveling, aerial photographing, digital mapping, topographic mapping, digital elevation modeling, aerial photographic DB construction and digital orthophotomap was standardized. The status of the output and quality inspection for basic surveying project were analyzed, and the elements of quality inspection and data format for the type of outputs were analyzed. Based on standardized and analyzed contents, web-based process management system was developed after database and process was designed. The process management system consisted of process management, quality control, metadata management, and system management.
