  • The purpose of this work is to explain the necessity and operation method of college mathematics clinic, investigating the reason why college students like and dislike mathematics. It is difficult for each professor alone to operate college mathematics clinic without students\` helping. They need to work together. For mathematics clinic operation, the following will be practiced: 1) make use of math-class, 2) help of math-club, 3) make internet homepage, 4) use of university institution and laboratory.

  • A conservative treatment approach to temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is recommended as the first line of management, usually with a stabilization splint. Recently, computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing and three-dimensional printer has been widely used in the dentistry since several years ago. The authors apply digital dentistry in oral medicine fields to make stabilization splint for TMD treatment.

THAMS Clinic Camp 운영을 통한 융합인재 양성 방안 연구 (A Study to Train Student with Interdisciplinary Abilities through THAMS Clinic Camp)

  • The aim of this study suggest the THAMS Clinic Camp program to train the interdisciplinary students with humanistic knowledge as well as the skills to perform the scientific and engineering works. Since the future of society is required students with the ability to elicit an emotional empathy, THAMS Clinic Camp program has been planed and performed from year 2012 based on the comprehensive liberal learning. The average employment rate over the past three years of the students who participated in THAMS Clinic Camp program showed 7% better than the overall average employment rate of Andong National University. The another visible educational outcomes of the THAMS Clinic Camp program are following; i) To take place the conversion of recognition for the interdisciplinary activity by breaking down the walls between fragmented disciplines to students and ii) To provide the opportunity that students will understand the past and refocus the current to have the idea to plan for the future in the right direction.

치과의원 외래환자 예약관리체계의 계량적 평가 (Quantitative Evaluation of Appointment System for Outpatients in Dental Clinic)

  • This study purported to evaluate the performance of the appointment system for outpatients in primary care dental clinic. The data of patients' time flow for 1,245 patients in Y Dental Clinic were collected for one month in 2002 and then analyzed. Specifically, the time periods of treatment and patients' waiting as well as rates of appointment and it's failure are estimated. The accuracy of expected treatment time period was also evaluated. The results showed that 72% of patients visited the clinic with appointments, and only 56% kept their appointments. The patient's waiting time period turned out to be 11 minutes in Y clinic. The expected treatment time period is turned out to be very important because they influence significantly on patient's waiting time period. Practically, the expected treatment time period should be overestimated about 9 minutes in general, and the characteristics of dentist, each patient's diagnosis and age need to be especially considered. Hospitals and clinics also need to make the systematic and detailed critical pathways for a variety of patient cases by analyzing the patients' treatment pattern. With the improved appointment systems, healthcare institutions will approach the goal of effective and efficient management of the institution and also satisfy their customers.

더러브렛 말에서 부비동염의 외과적 치료 (Surgical Treatment of Paranasal Sinusitis in Thoroughbred Horse)

  • A 11-year-old gelding Thoroughbred horse was presented with a history of unilateral nasal discharge of right side. The horse was diagnosed as maxillary sinusitis based on blood examination and radiography. The horse was treated with bone flap of right maxillary sinuses. Abscess of maxillary sinus was drained and irrigated with antibiotic-saline and povidone iodine solution. After surgical procedure, nebulization and medication applied by the result of antibiotic sensitivity test. After treatment for two weeks, the patient was recovered completely.

Pre-anesthetic clinic internship: new teaching method of pre-anesthesia evaluation for undergraduates

  • Background: This study aimed to observe the effect of internship in a pre-anesthetic clinic on the teaching quality of pre-anesthesia evaluation for undergraduates. Methods: A total of 120 undergraduates from July 2017 to July 2018 in the anesthesia department of our hospital were randomly divided into two groups: pre-anesthetic clinic internship teaching group (n = 60) and traditional teaching group (n = 60). The knowledge in the pre-anesthesia evaluation teaching chapters was evaluated between the two groups of undergraduates. Results: There were no significant differences in the demographic information between the two groups. The scores in the case analysis and theoretical knowledge test in the pre-anesthetic clinic internship teaching group were significantly higher than those in the traditional teaching group. In addition, the students' satisfaction with the curriculum design was significantly higher in the pre-anesthetic clinic internship teaching group than in the traditional teaching group. Conclusion: Pre-anesthetic clinic internships can improve the quality of pre-anesthesia assessment teaching for undergraduates.

과천시 학교구강보건실 운영 및 비운영학교 학생의 구강보건의식에 관한 비교 (Comparison of the Oral Health Awareness of Students in Schools with and without Dental Clinic in the City of Gwacheon)

  • 본 연구는 과천시 학교구강보건실 운영 및 비운영학교 학생의 구강건강지식, 태도 및 인식도 등을 비교 분석하기 위해 과천시 학교구강보건실 운영학교 학생 398명, 비운영학교 학생 384명을 대상으로 조사하였으며 향후 계속되는 학교구강보건실의 효율적인 운영 방안설정 및 구강건강프로그램 개발 시 기초자료로 활용하는데 도움을 주고자 시행하였다. 이에 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 운영학교와 비운영학교 학생의 구강보건지식에 관한 비교 결과 다른 질문에서는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았지만, 학교구강보건실에서 실시하고 있는 예방진료에 대해서는 운영학교의 학생이 비운영학교의 학생에 비해 알고 있다고 응답한 학생이 많았다. 2. 구강건강태도에 관한 결과 일일 평균 간식 섭취 횟수를 제외한 나머지 큰 운영 및 비운영학교의 학생에 있어서 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 3. 구강건강신념에 있어서는 건강상태, 중요도, 관심도 모두 운영학교의 학생이 비운영학교의 학생에 비해 구강건강에 대한 신념이 긍정적인 것으로 나타났으며, 유의한 차이를 보였다. 4. 학교구강보건실 인식도에 대한 결과 운영학교에서 인식도가 높았으며, 필요성에 있어서는 두집단 모두 충치예방과 치료를 위해 필요하다고 답하였으며, 학교구강보건실의 선호도에 있어서도 운영학교 학생들이 더 선호하는 결과를 보였다.

학습부적응 아동을 위한 학습클리닉 프로그램 효과분석 (Analysis of Effectiveness of Learning Clinic Program for Learning Maladjusted Children)

  • The purpose of this study is to help with education by applying the learning clinic program to the maladjusted children to improve the emotional stability and academic achievement. In order to find the components of the learning clinic program, we have classified self efficacy, learning motivation, anxiety, and academic stress as emotional factors and the results of Korean language, mathematics, sociology and science as academic achievement factors to examine the effects of the program. The results obtained in this study are followings. Firstly, there was significant difference in self efficacy and anxiety between boys and girls among emotional factors, and there was significant difference in math between boys and girls among academic achievement factors. Secondly, after applying the learning clinic program, significant difference is found in all factors such as self efficacy, learning motivation, anxiety and academic stress, and there was also a significant difference in Korean language, mathematics, sociology and science among academic achievement factors. In conclusion, the learning clinic program was helpful to maladjusted children by improving emotional stability and academic achievement.
