A pot experiment was carried out to examined the effect of electrolyzed micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn, Sr, Se, Sn, Co, Ti, and V) solution treatments with nutrient solution and SCB slurry on the mineral content and growth of tomato in cherry tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum). The treatment of nutrient solution (NS)+micronutrients solution (MS) significantly increased the concentrations of Li, Zn, Sr, Se, Ti as compared with that of NS alone in the cherry tomato fruits, and SCB+MS solution treatment significantly increased Li, Zn, Se, Co, Sr, and Ti contents as compared with SCB treatment. The micronutrient contents of MN+SCB+MS treatment were significantly higher in Li, Zn, Se, Co and in Ti than those of SCB and NS treatment, respectively. The growth and yield of cherry tomato fruits was highest with NS treatment. The yield indices of cherry tomato treated with NS+MS treatment and SCB+NS+MS were 97% and 94% of NS treatment. In conclusion, it seems to be possible to produce micronutrient-fortified cherry tomato by the mixed treatment of electrolyzed micronutrients.
The CA(Controlled Atmosphere) storage of cherry tomatoes were carried out under seven gas compositions including air. The weight loss of cherry tomatoes progressively increased with storage time. In the case of cherry tomatoes stored under CA conditions, increment of weight loss was reduced. However, cherry tomatoes (in air) tut about 15% weight at the end of storage. In CA stored cherry tomatoes lost about 10% weight at the same time. General trend was a decrease in titratable acidity with storage time. In air md 6.4% O$_2$, 4.2% CO$_2$, titratable acidity was lower than that in other storage conditions. During storage of cherry tomatoes, soluble solids increased till 8 days of storage, and then decreased. Stored cherry tomatoes in air and 6.4% O$_2$+4.2% CO$_2$ have lower values. Lycopene contents of cherry tomatoes with 6% O$_2$ storage condition increased and cherry tomatoes with 1% O$_2$+6% CO$_2$ and 3% O$_2$+3.1% CO$_2$maintained s initial contents. In air, flesh firmness decrease till 8 days, and then increase. At 1% O$_2$+6% CO$_2$ ethanol contents were ten times to that of other experimental conditions. Air and 6% O$_2$+7.8% CO$_2$ condition had lowest value for the ethanol content. In changes of organic acid and citric acid decreased slowly during storage, malic acid in air and below 3% O$_2$was disappeared at 8 days. Above 4% O$_2$concentration malic acid contents were maintained till 16 days. In over all acceptability, air and 6.4% O$_2$+7.8% CO$_2$ condition took a good score from the panel. Quality of stored cherry tomatoes was not edible condition in 1% O$_2$+6% CO$_2$. CA storage cherry tomatoes took a good score in firmness and juiciness where as control received good score in color and sweetness. This result was explained that in air ad 6.4% O$_2$+7.8% CO$_2$stored cherry tomato was ripened and full color development, but in CA was break stage because of suppressed ripening.

This study was carried out to determine the effect of osmotic dehydration as pretreatment on the qualities of dried cherry-tomatoes. The weight reduction and solid gain in osmosed cherry-tomato were increased by increasing sugar concentration, immersion temperature and time; among three parameters, the immersion temperature affected more than sugar concentration and immersion time did. The moisture content was decreased as increasing sugar concentration, immersion temperature and time, and it was the lowest at the osmotic conditions of 7$0^{\circ}C$, 60$^{\circ}$Brix and 11hr. To determine the optimum processing condition by RSm, the polynomial optimum models were established. The regression models was significant (p<0.05). It was used contour plots to optimize osmotic dehydration. The optimum condition for osmotic dehydration as pretreatments for drying of cherry-tomatoes were immersion temperature of 47~53$^{\circ}C$, sugar concentration of 39~43$^{\circ}$Brix, and immersion time of 7hr, in which process conditions were 78~86% moisture content, 8.5~10$^{\circ}$Brix sugar content and 80~86% weight reduction.

Festivals using plant phenology is one of the examples can represent the ecosystem services. Changwon Jinhae Gunhangje is typical spring festival using cherry blossoms phenology. This research was done to define relationship between flowering of cherry blossoms and Gunhangje. Phenological data (Julian day) of cherry blossoms and visitor number of Gunhangje from 1987 to 2013 were collected. Differences of Phenological phase of cherry blossoms and duration of Gunhangje was analyzed. Trend analysis was performed to know changes of flowering and budding day of cherry blossoms. Correlations between visitor number of Gunhangje and environmental factors was defined by factor analysis and regression analysis. Results are showed that during the 26 years, periodicity of flowering and budding day was not identified or even identified it was not significant. Environmental factors effect on visitor numbers of Gunhangje were defined as temperature factor, day factor, and precipitation factor. Temperature factor was significantly correlated with visitor numbers of Gunhangje. Though Flowering day of cherry blossoms and festival duration was not matched, however, difference of visitor numbers was not showed. These results suggest that fixed duration of Gunhangje would be more effective to visitors than changing the festival duration following the phenological day changes of cherry blossoms.
In this study, a comparative analysis was carried out between the 'Beta Tiny' and 'TY Nonari' cherry tomato cultivars harvested at the pink and red stages. Samples of the red stage were stored at room temperature for 9 days, during which physicochemical qualities, antioxidant compounds, and activities were measured. As cherry tomato ripening and storage progressed, firmness was reduced, whereas the lycopene content increased. Total phenolic content and antioxidant activity showed no significant changes as ripening and storage progressed; however, total flavonoid content of 'Beta Tiny' showed a significant increase (p<0.05). The main polyphenols in the two cultivars were identified as chlorogenic acid, rutin, and (-)-epigallocatechin gallate, among which chlorogenic acid showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) as ripening and storage progressed. A strong correlation was found between total phenolic and flavonoid content (R=0.744), and ABTS radical scavenging activity (R=0.975). Additionally, a negative correlation was shown by lycopene and chlorogenic acid (R= -0.934).
In this study, certain factors influencing cherry tomato were estimated using system equations. In addition, the amount of influence to income from each factor was estimated from both direct and indirect effects. Based on OLS(Ordinary Least Squares) estimation, path analysis and factor analysis were employed to overcome multicollinearity problems. Data used in this study is interviewed cross sectional data of 65 cherry tomato producing farm in Chungnam-do area. Average age of the producers is 46.5. Average year of the production is 8 years. Average farm size, productivity, and income are 1,123 pyong, 7,439kg/10a, 8,112,000won/10a, respectively. The business performance of the sample farms were above average, in terms of the diagnosis by "Standard Business Diagnosis for Cherry tomato". To identify the factors influencing productivity, 15, 19, and 25 independent variables were selected for the dependent variables of yield, price(quality), and business cost, respectively. Finally, yield, quality, and business cost variables were set as independent variables to explain income as dependent variable. As a result of main factor analysis, 10, 12, 15, and 16 factors were identified as main factors for yield, quality, business cost, and income, respectively.
The foraging activities of bumblebee, Bombus terrestris were surveyed to compare with two types of cherry-tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum. M) house as Nutriculture and Sawdustculture on southern part of Korea in winter . The summary of the result obtained for this purpose are below: In the interval of blooming time from Sawdustculture type. In the interval of the time from the first visting on the flower by a worker of B. terrestris after a flower of cherry-tomato bloomed. nutriculture type was more shorter than Sawdustculture type. Therefore there was no difference in the average pollination time from the flower's blossoming according to the inflorescence of the first visiting time of B. terrestris worker on the each flower between Nutriculture type and Sawdustculture type. The foraging activites of B. terrestris worker in two kinds of cherry-tomatio cultivating house had shown same patterns. and han not been found to the differences.

Although cherry tomato is one of major vegetables consumed in fresh vegetable market, the quality grading method is mostly dependant on size measurement using drum shape sorting machines. Using Visible/Near-infrared spectroscopy, apparatus to be able to acquire transmittance spectrum data was made and used to estimate firmness, sugar content, and acidity of cherry tomatoes grown at hydroponic and soil culture. Partial least square (PLS) models were performed to predict firmness, sugar content, and acidity for the acquired transmittance spectra. To enhance accuracy of the PLS models, several preprocessing methods were carried out, such as normalization, multiplicative scatter correction (MSC), standard normal variate (SNV), and derivatives, etc. The coefficient of determination ($R^2_p$) and standard error of prediction (SEP) for the prediction of firmness, sugar, and acidity of cherry tomatoes from green to red ripening stages were 0.859 and 1.899 kgf, with a preprocessing of normalization, 0.790 and $0.434^{\circ}Brix$ with a preprocessing of the 1st derivative of Savitzky Golay, and 0.518 and 0.229% with a preprocessing normalization, respectively.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients and have many beneficial advantages on human health. Four cherry tomato supplementation diets (CTSDs) were prepared from the juice and cake of fresh and processed (heat-treated) cherry tomatoes. Rats were fed CTSDs for 28 days and the changes in health indices in the serum were analyzed. CTSDs significantly decreased (P < 0.05) food efficiency ratio compared with the control. CTSD feeding significantly increased (P < 0.05) the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level compared with the control, which resulted in a significant (P < 0.05) decrease in coronary artery risk index and atherogenic index. Furthermore, CTSD feeding increased serum serotonin level. These results indicate that CTSD shows antihyperlipidemic effect.
This study was performed to investigate the antioxidant activity of cherry added into meat products. Water and methanol were used to extract the antioxidant compounds from cherry. Total phenolic compounds of the methanol and water extract of cherry were 2.17 g/100 g and 2.77 g/100 g, respectively. The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity of methanol extract showed similar activities to those with ascorbic acid at all concentrations (from 0.1% to 2.0%). Especially, water extract of cherry showed similar activity to those of ascorbic acid (AA), and methanol extract, when 2% of cherry extract was added. The reducing power of cherry was not comparable to those with AA, however no differences in reducing power were observed between the water and methanol extract. The iron chelating ability of cherry was observed in the range of 17.8-94.0% at both water and methanol extracts. An increased iron chelating ability was observed with increased concentration up to 2%. Iron chelating ability for water extract of cherry tended to be lower than those with methanol extract. After pork patties were manufactured with methanol extract of cherry at 0.5 and 1.0%, physicochemical properties, lipid oxidation and microbial changes of patties were measured. The addition of methanol extract of cherry reduced pH, brightness, redness, yellowness and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS). During 14 d of storage, pH, TBARS and microbial counts were increased, while redness and yellowness values were decreased. Since the addition of methanol extract of cherry lowered TBARS during storage, it could be used as a natural antioxidant in meat products.
