  • Price is one of the most important components of marketing mix. For consumers, price is an always-existing cue and definite evaluation criteria. However, information on price is meaningful only when it is perceived. Sources of price perception can be the actual retail price at the selling point, the internal reference price expected by consumers for a certain clothing product, and the external reference price advertised by marketer such as the price before mark-down. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of internal reference price on consumers' purchasing process of clothing products. A questionnaire including clothing stimuli was developed in order to assess consumers' internal reference price level. Usable data from 680 adult female urban residents were used for data analysis. Results indicated that consumers with relatively lower internal reference price tend to react low-price focused external reference price and use discount stores and unit price promotions. Consumers with relatively higher internal reference price advertisement are likely to have higher level of education, tend to infer price information to higher quality or prestige of products, and purchase clothing with regular retail price or coupons.

  • This study was designed to investigate the relationship between body mass index and food habits of college students. For this purpose, 358 students of Kangweon University were asked to fill out the questionnaires for food habits and weight control. The results are summarized as follows ; The rate of underweight, normal and obese was 16.5, 65.1, 18.4%, respectively. Food habits score of obese females were lower than normal or underweight females. Male subjects did not show significantly different scores among the three groups. Female obese subjects have lower scores than the other groups on the eating time, seaweed intake, protein intake and vegetable intake. Male obese subjects have nutritious meals and more eating time than normal and underweight males. College students are the early stage of adult life and their food habits, food behaviors and life style will continue in later life. Therefore, college students need more nutritional knowledge, positive dietary attitudes and modified life styles to prevent and treat obesity.

  • A 16-year-old female Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) infected with Paragonimus kellicotti was described. Noticeable clinical symptom was not observed before death. At autopsy, numerous cysts were found on the pleural surface of the lung. The cysts were spherical, approximately 1.0 cm in diameter, bulge the pleura, and dark red-brown in color. Such cysts were also found in the deeper lung parenchyma, and usually contained adult flukes in pairs. Histopathologically, the cyst was lined with stratified squamous epithelium which arose from metaplasia of bronchial epithelium. Partial hyperplasia and necrotic foci accompanied with inflammatory cells were often observed in the squamous epithelium. The outer part of the cyst was consisted of fibrous connective tissue in which leukocytes were infiltrated. Catarrhal pneumonia was manifested in the adjacent lung tissues.

  • Two species of the chloroperlid stonefly, Alloperla medlata and Sweltsa illiesi, are reported for the first time in Korea. Alloperla mediata can be distinguished by the smaller epiproct and the presence of a median sclerite under epiproct in male, and by the modified subgenital plate in female. Sweltsa illiesi can be distinguished by the presence of a pair of ridges on tergum 9 in male and upward V-shaped pattern on the center of head in adults. The line drawings of diagnostic characters and taxonomic remarks of the two species are provided with keys and comparative characters for adults of Korean Chloroperlidae.

  • These experiments were carried out to develop new techniques identifying XX-bearing embryos prior to implantation by immunological method. Antiserum to histocompatibility-Y(H-Y) antigen was prepared in adult SD(sprague-dawley) female rat by repeated immunization of newbone testis supernatant from males of the same strain. ELISA test was used to identify the H-Y antibody of antiserum. Total 124 mouse embryos (8-cell stage) were treated with H-Y antiserum and complement in BSA free Ho, pp. and Pitt's medium and cultured under the gas phase of 5% CO2 in air at 37$^{\circ}C$ for 24 to 48 hrs. The morphological characteristics of embryos treated were observed under the phase-contrast micro scope. The results obtained in these experiments were summarized as follows: 1. Optimal Density of H-Y antibody were a, pp.ared to be 0.27-0.47 by ELISA test. 2. Of total 124 embryos treated with H-Y antiserum and complement 69(55.6%) embryos developed to blastocyst and 55(44.4%) destroyed or arrested.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between physical fitness, and physical and psychological stress of females. The subjects of this study were 139 adult women, without a specific medical illness. The stress level was evaluated by Derogetis's checklist-90-Revision symptom of physical and psychological stress (Cronbach's a=0.88, 0.87). The physical fitness factors in this study were cardiopulmonary endurance, muscle endurance, muscle strength, power, agility, and flexibility. To analyze the data to examine the relationship between the physical and psychological stress, and physical fitness, correlation analysis was applied. The findings of this study were as follows. First, among the physical fitness factors, cardiopulmonary endurance, along with muscle strength and power had significant relations with physical stress (p<.01). Second, among the physical fitness factors, cardiopulmonary endurance showed a significant relation with psychological stress (p<.05).

  • The calcifying odontogenic cyst is rare lesion having features of both cyst and neoplasm. Clinically it frequently occurs in young adult and more frequent in the anterior area of the jaw. Radiographically, this lesion has several radiopaque foci within unilocular or multilocular radiolucency. The authors experienced cystic and neoplastic types of calcifying odontogenic cysts in the anterior area of the mandible in a 16-year-old male and 21-year-old female patients who suffered from pain, swelling and teeth displacemeent on the affected area. And we discussed the clinical, radiological and histopathological features with a brief review of the literatures.

  • Background: To investigate the effect of various intervention application on idiopathic scoliosis patient. Methods: One 20-years-old female subject underwent various intervention 3 times per week for 7 weeks. Modality physical therapy, muscle energy technique, combined pelvic tilt exercise and self exercise was performed for 50minutes. Degree of pain, axial trunk rotation, Cobb's angle, kyphotic angle, lumbar lordotic angle, and sacral angle were measured. Results: The subject decreased in degree of pan, axial trunk rotation, Cobb's angle, thoracic kyphotic angle, lumbar lordotic angle and sacral angle. Conclusions: The various interventions for scoliosis patients are effective in the pain and the improvement of angle on radiograph. However, any method is difficult to determine effective interventions.

  • Trichofolliculoma (TF) is a follicular hamartoma in which hairs protruding out of single orifice. To the best of my knowledge, only two auricular TF has been reported in the English literature. Moreover, clinically TF have been described to mimic malignancy. I present a case of an adult female with mass at the intertragal notch of the left auricle for several years. The clinical diagnosis was thought to be epidermoid cyst, accessory tragus, and other benign skin adnexal tumor. To prevent recurrence, the wide local excision of the mass was performed. The final diagnosis of TF was made. No recurrence was noted during the follow-up of 1 year. It is important for otologists to be familiar with the clinical and pathologic characterization of TF, to make the correct diagnosis.
