Mating is an essential behavioural social event in the life cycle of silkworm, Bombyx mori (L.) for the perpetuation of population. A number of intrinsic and extrinsic factors and events of significant importance are involved in successful mating and egg deposition by an adult silk moth which besides biochemical, physiological and environmental factors also includes attraction of reproductively competent male and female moth for mating, duration and frequency of mating, age of moth at the time of mating, reuse of male moth in the production of eggs etc. An attempt has been made in this review article to elucidate briefly the behaviour of male towards female moth after eclosion, impact of duration and frequency of mating on egg deposition and oviposition, reuse of mated male moth in the production of quality and quantity eggs etc. in the silk-worm, B. mori and its significance in silkworm seed production.
iepicondylar fracture of the humerus is very rare in adults. To date, there have been limited evidence of this injury in the English literature. We report a case of a 65-year-old female with a biepicondylar fracture of the left distal humerus without dislocation. Open reduction and internal fixation with K-wires, cannulated screw, and suture anchor were performed. We obtained stability of the elbow and a satisfactory functional outcome. Because this type of injury is associated with varus and valgus instability, operative reduction and fixation are essential in order to gain stability and early recovery of normal function.
The author studied to determine the tooth-age according to the degree of attrition. This study was performed on 247 subjects over forties. Upper and lower posterior teeth were clinically examined and transferred to a store model on which degree of attrition was measured with a magnifier respectively. The obtained results were as follows : The attrition by aging was increased in both male and female. The degree of attrition in male was higher than that in female for same age group. The coefficients of correlation and relation equations by the degree of attrition were obtained.
The mulberry small weevil, Baris deplanata ROELOFS, has highly infested mulberry trees in Korea. As the damage caused by the mulberry small weevil in mulberry fields has been increased over the country since 1969, the authors has carried out a series of biological and controlling studies on the pest from 1971 to 1972. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The adult weevil is elongate oval in shape with black in color and the probocis is long as usual in curculionidae. The size of adult female is 3.30${\pm}$0.04mm in length, 1.47${\pm}$0.04mm in width, and the length of proboscis is 1.25${\pm}$0.014mm, while adult male is 3.28${\pm}$0.06mm in length, 1.40${\pm}$0.04mm in width, and the length of proboscis is 1.30${\pm}$0.02mm. The antenna is geniculate consisting of 12 segments. The terminal sternite of the abdomen has a pointed tip in male but not in female. 2. The egg is long oval in shape, milky white in color, 0.51${\pm}$0.05mm in length and 0.32${\pm}$0.02mm in width. 3. The mature larva is cylindrical and light yellowow in color except the head of dark brown, and legless, 3.88${\pm}$0.06mm in length, 1.40${\pm}$0.02mm width, each segment bearing many wrinkless and short setae. 4. The pupa is long oval, milky white and exarate, 3.53${\pm}$0.09 in length, 1.40${\pm}$0.03mm in width. 5. Majority of the species has one generation through a year and overwinters as adult in xylem of withered branch and come out again from late April to early May in next year. But some of the female oviposit in the same year and the offsprings overwinter as larva (0.4%) or pupa (0.1%) 6. The eggs are mostly laid under the cork layer of withered branch and the number of eggs deposited by an adult female is 73.44${\pm}$8.74, the average egg-laying period is 33.88${\pm}$6.04 days. The incubation period is 11.69${\pm}$0.39 days, the larval period 45.04${\pm}$1.63 and the pupal period 11.05${\pm}$0.49 days. The period of adult's activity is 46.7${\pm}$5.90 days. 7. The larvae feed on the cambium under the bark and adults feed on the winter bud, the latent bud, the leaf stalk and the base of newly shoot. 8. An active period of adults was observed during the period of 4 months from April to July. However, the peak of adult-density occurred in the early May (in the fields of spring-prunning) and early to middle June(in the fields of summer-prunning). 9. There is a positive correlation between the density of larvae and diameter and length of the branches. 10. The pattern of distributions of the adult of mulberry small weevil is negative binomial distribution. 11. The chalcid fly was disclosed to be a natural enemy which was parasite on the larvae of mulberry small weevil and its parasitic ratio was 11.9%. 12. Phosvel D, Malix D, Salithion EC, DDVP EC, and Phosvel EC were effective for the control of adults and Satchukoto-S EC, and Salithio EC were effective for the control of larvae.

Experiments have been performed to investigate biological characteristics of Diglyphus isaea (Walker), an ectoparasite of Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess). At $25^{\circ}C$, development time of D. isaea was estimated as 1.3 days for eggs, 4.5 days for larvae and 6.3 days for pupae. Adult longevity was 25.1 days, and a female adult could lay 305.3 eggs throughout its lifetime. Number of L. trifolii parasitized or killed by the wasp was 962.2 individuals/adult. Most of all parasitized or killed larvae were identified as third instar. With 20% honeyed water as food source, half of the adults could survive 180 days at $5^{\circ}C$, 150 days at $10^{\circ}C$, and 90 days at $15^{\circ}C$. After storing at $10^{\circ}C$ with absolute honey for 30 days, 70 days and 140 days, a female adult in room temperature laid eggs 190.8 individuals, 104.0 individuals and 89.4 individuals, respectively.
This study was carried out not only to investigate the toxicities of 12 registered insecticides on different developmental stages, but also to determine the sublethal effects on longevity and reproduction of newly emerged adult female and development of the next generation in the rice skipper, Parnara guttata. Fenitrothion, fenthion, cartap hydrochloride, ethofenprox highly suppressed egg-hatch. All insecticides treated showed high larvicidal activity on the 1st to 2nd instar larva. The insecticides showed higher larvicidal activities on the 5th instar larva were fenitrothion, fenthion, ethofenprox, fipronil, methoxyfenozide, tebufenozide and Bt. var. kurstaki. The sublethal doses of fenthion, tebufenozide, cartap hydrochloride, methoxyfenozide, ethofenprox, imidacloprid and fipronil shortened the longevities of newly emerged adult female from the treated larva ($3{\sim}4$ instar). BPMC, imidacloprid, ethofenprox, fipronil and methoxyfenozide delayed the preoviposition periods of adult females and decreased the number of eggs laid when they were treated at the larval stages of the previous generation. Ethofenprox caused severe sublethal effects on P. guttata offspring, completely blocking the production. All insecticides except fenitrothion affected the egg viability, and all eggs from the adult females emerged from the survivors treated larvae with imidacloprid or fipronil fail to hatch. IGRs, methoxyfenozide and tebufenozide showed an adverse effect on the development of next generation larva.
The behavior and circadian rhythm of emergence, copulation and oviposition in the Oriental tobacco budworm (Heliothis assulta Guenee) were studied to obtain the following results. More than three quarters of adults emerged within 3 hours after the light-off. It took about 33 min for an adult to expand and tan its wings after emergence. Adult male showed a sequential pattern of mating behavior, such as antennal movement, wing elevation and vibration, exten¬sion of hairpencils, and tapping of female ovipositor leading to a copulation. However, adult female revealed a rather simple behavior, such as protraction and retraction of her terminal abdomen and vibration of wings. All of the mating took place during the early part of the scotophase, with the peak from 1 hr to 2 hrs after the light-off. But the mating peak in virgin females tended to advance with age. Adult females showed the highest rate of mating among 24 hr-olds and the rate declined with age. The rate of first matings in males gave a very similar pattern to that of females. The duration of copulation was $77\pm$14min. Oviposition occurred throughout the entire scotophase, with the peak during the first 2 hrs. The most nu¬mber of eggs deposited daily was seen on the 3rd day after the mating. Mating rate, number of eggs laid and longevity we~e compared under different sex ratio. Unmated adults lived longer than mated adults.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of body mass index(BMI) and waist circumference(WC) on hemoglobin(Hb) in Korean Adult. This study analyzed the data of 2015, The Sixth KNHANES. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe's test, Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate logistic regression analysis(SPSS 25.0). The major findings, The subject's Hb In BMI, obese was the highest(F=97.862, p<0.001). The Hb In WC, $WC{\geq}90cm$ was higher for male(t=4.909, p<0.001), and $WC{\geq}85cm$ was higher for female(t=5.088, p<0.001). Hb has a significant positive correlated with BMI(r=0.188, p<0.001), WC(r=0.298, p<0.001). In male, Hyperhemoglobinemia was 2.30 times(p<0.001) higher in obese and 1.81 times(p<0.001) higher in $WC{\geq}90cm$. In female, Hyperhemoglobinemia was 1.99 times(p=0.002) higher in overweight, 5.66 times(p<0.001) higher in obese, and 4.27 times(p<0.001) higher in $WC{\geq}85cm$. In conclusion, adult obesity prevention and management programs should include exercises, diets, and education, and exercise interventions specifically for eliminating abdominal obesity.

This study investigates the effects of fashion innovativeness and utilization on the price perception of formal wear and climbing wear as well as gender differences on price perception and the relationship of the variables. Price perception measurements were based on reference price and reservation price; subsequently, a premium price ratio was calculated based on the measured prices. A survey that involved male and female adult consumers was conducted in Daegu in August 2011. A total of 321 responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlations and independent sample t-test. Two factors of fashion innovativeness were derived and named as unique-oriented innovativeness and change-oriented innovativeness. The utilization of formal wear and climbing wear was higher in the male group versus the female group. Reference price and reservation price were identified similar to the actual consumer purchasing prices reported in previous studies. Male consumers showed a tendency in price perception in accordance with the utilization. The change-oriented innovativeness of the female group led to a positive relationship with the perceived price of climbing jackets.
A survey was conducted to investigate the intake pattern of health supplements and health foods by using questionnaire. The data were collected from 395 adults over middle age and analyzed with SAS program. The natural foods were most frequently taken among health supplements and health foods for health. There was no difference in pattern of health supplements or health foods intake between male and female. The item taken over 20% of subjects was health drinks, green tea, ginseng product, dietary fiber drink, honey, general tea, tonic medicine from natural foods, vitamin B, vitamin C from nutrition supplements, and Lactobacillus product from health supplements. As the main reason for taking health supplements or health foods, the male indicated recovery of fatigue and improvement of health, but the female indicated recovery of fatigue and protection or treatment on disease(p<0.001). The frequency of taking health supplements or health foods was once a day. About the effect of health foods 70.1%, of subjects answered not bad and 25% responded very helpful for their health. Twenty percent of subjects experienced side effects such as diarrhea. The results showed that the proper education program should be developed for consumer to choose suitable health supplements or health foods according to their dietary life and health condition.
