  • Today, interest in health information has risen overall due to the aging society, increased public interest in the quality of life, and the increased state's interest in reducing medical costs. Accordingly, efforts have been made across the library and information science in terms of academic research, libraries in terms of providing health specialized services, and the state, yet policies and strategies for providing the health related information in an integrated and systematic manner through the libraries have not been proposed with clarity to date. Thus, this study aimed to propose a method to provide the health information in an integrated manner by the libraries through the previous studies, policy studies, and case studies. Consequently, it proposes to build a system to integrate the health information, build an overall database of the health related information, develop and operate a health specialized library program, operate a general support center for the health information service, and build a cooperative network among the related departments and institutions for the health information service. The details proposed by this study is likely to contribute to developing services for improving the health of the citizens of this country.

First, the perception survey surveyed 200 students taking LIS - related classes at four-year universities in the Seoul metropolitan area on five topics (books, bibliotherapy, curriculum, libraries, and others) using keywords related to bibliotherapy. And then, the current status of bibliotherapy in the field of LIS was investigated by dividing it into a curriculum related to bibliotherapy and bibliotherapy activities in the library to examine it from an educational and practical perspective. Bibliotherapy related curriculum status survey explored and analyzed through bibliotherapy related keywords based on 32 universities with LIS departments among four-year universities in Korea. And bibliotherapy programs and reading lists were analyzed for 1,104 public libraries in Korea. • Altmetrics is an alternative impact evaluation index that evaluates the social interest in the research performance of individuals or institutions in universities, research institutions, and research fund support institutions. This study empirically analyzed what kind of attention a papers of domestic library and information science researchers published in an international academic journal was receiving in the international community using Altmetric explorer. As a result of the analysis, 230 papers were tracked. The average Altmetric Attention Score (AAS) was 6.63, but there were 2 papers that received overwhelming attention (over 170 points) as they were mentioned in news report and Twitter. Second, there was a tendency for high AAS to appear in cases where a domestic researcher participated as a co-author and the main author belonged to an overseas institution, and in the case where the research funds were supported by foreign government agencies. In addition to the field of the library information science or information system, the papers classified as the field of public health service and education showed high AAS, and it was confirmed that these papers were published in the journals of various fields such as life science. Finally, it was confirmed that there was a weak correlation of r =0.25 between the AAS and the number of citations of the analyzed paper, but a strong correlation of r =0.68 between the number of Mendeley readers and the number of citations.
