지엽류 급여가 흑염소의 발육 및 육질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding Browses on Growth and Meat Quality of Korean Native Goats)

  • 지엽류 급여가 흑염소의 발육 및 육질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 체중 13kg 내외의 4개월령 흑염소 수컷 28두를 공시하여 처리구별로 각각 7두씩 배치하여 농후사료와 함께 지엽류를 급여한 결과는 다음과 같다. 일당증체량은 참나무지엽구가 45.3g으로 다소 높은 경향이었고 소나무지엽구와 발효지엽구는 비슷하였다. 일일 조사료 섭취량은 참나무지엽구가 건물 197g이었고 발효지엽구가 74g이었다. 증체 g당 사료요구율은 참나무지엽구가 11.0g이었고 소나무지엽구는 15.1g이었다. 지엽류를 급여한 흑염소의 혈청 화학치는 영양장애나 체내대사에 이상이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 도체율은 45.1~46.2%이었고 정육율은 55.2~55.9%로 처리구간에 비슷하였으며 고기의 일반조성분인 조단백질과 조회분은 처리구간에 비슷하였고 조지방은 소나무지엽구와 발효지엽구가 볏짚구보다 낮았으나(p〈.05) 참나무지엽구와는 비슷하였다. 육질의 물리적 특성인 전단력, 가열감량은 소나무지엽구와 발효지엽구가 볏짚구보다 낮았으며(p〈.05) 지엽류 간에는 비슷하였다. 다즙성, 연도 그리고 향미는 소나무지엽구가 볏짚구보다 우수하였으며(p〈.05)지엽류 급여구간에는 비슷하였다.

솔잎 향미유의 제조와 기호성에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Development and Evaluation of The Pine Needle Flavor oil)

  • 우리나라 어디서나 자생하고 있어서 비교적 쉽게 접할 수 있고 예로부터 약용, 향료, 구급 식료품 등으로 사용되어 온 소나무잎의 일반성분과 향기성분을 분석한 후 솔잎의활용성을 검토하기 위하여 autoclaving법을 사용하여 솔잎 및 솔잎분말 향미유를 제조하여 저장중의 색도 변화와 산화정도를 조사하였다. 또한 실용 가능성 여부를 검토하기 위하여 관능 검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 솔잎과 솔잎 분말의 일반성분은 수분 함량이 각각 54.5와 8.2%, 조지방량은 4.9와 8.1%, 조단백질량은 1.4와 2.9%, 조회분은 0.8과 2.3%, 조섬유는 2.3과 4.9%, 탄수화물은 36.2와 73.7%였다. 2. 옥배유를 기질로 하여 제조한 솔잎 향미유의 산패도는 솔잎과 솔잎분말로 만든 솔잎 향미유들의 유도기간이 솔잎을 첨가하지 않은 대조유의 유도기간보다 각각 1.1 및 1.2배 증가되어 산패 억제가 인정되었으며 그 효과는 솔잎보다 솔잎분말로 제조된 향미유에서 더 크게 나타났다. 3. 솔잎향미유의 저장중 색도의 변화는 기기적인 수치는 다소 차이가 있었으나 육안적으로는 PNO(pine needle falvor oil)는 저장에 따라 투명해지는 반면 PPNO(flavor oil from powdered pine needle)는 혼탁해짐을 알 수 있었다. 4. 솔잎 분말 향미유에서 33종의 향기 성분들이 분리되었으며 주 된 성분은 $\alpha$ -pinene 20. 1ppm(31.1%), pentane 6.4ppm(9.8 %), tricyclene 4.8ppm(7.5%) camphene 4.4ppm(6.8%), hexanal 4.0ppm(6.2%), propane 3.9ppm(6.0%), $\beta$ -pinene 3.6ppm (5.6%), limonene 2.5ppm(3.9%)등 8종이었으며, 이들 주요성분의 총량은 49.6ppm으로 전체 검출량의 76.8%를 차지하였다. 5. 솔잎 분말 향미유를 송편 제조시 솔잎 향을 주는 참기름의 대체 기름으로 사용가능성의 관능 검사 결과, 기호성이 낮았으나 솔잎 분말 향미유와 참기름을 1 : 1v/v로 혼합한 경우는 기호도가 참기름과 거의 유사한 것으로 조사되었다 (p<0.05). 또한, 이 혼합유에 대해서 정량적 묘사검사를 실시한 결과 참기름의 고소한 향과 맛, 솔잎 분말 향미유의 솔잎향과 맛 등과 같은 특성들을 비교적 강한 것으로 인지(p<0.01)되어 송편의 맛과 향을 줄 수 있는 참기름대체 향미유로 사용이 가능할 것으로 생각되었다.

아밀로이드 베타로 유도된 신경세포 사멸에 대한 PineXol®의 보호효과 (Protective Effect of PineXol® against Amyloid-β-induced Cell Death)

  • $Amyloid-{\beta}$ protein ($A{\beta}$) is known to increase free radical production in neuronal cells, leading to cell death by oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective effects of $PineXol^{(R)}$ on $A{\beta}_{25-35}$ induced neuronal cell death. Rat pheochromocytoma (PC-12) cells were pre-treated with $100{\mu}g/mL$ of $PineXol^{(R)}$ for 2 h. The cells were exposed to single dose of $30{\mu}M$ $A{\beta}_{25-35}$ for 24 h. Cell death was assessed by a cell count kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, lactate and dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay. An Apoptotic process was analyzed by a protein expression of the Bcl-2 family using western blotting. Cell viability increased in PC-12 cells treated with both $A{\beta}_{25-35}$ and $PineXol^{(R)}$, compared to the control group. $PineXol^{(R)}$ induced a decrease of the Bcl-2 protein expression (p<0.05), while Bax and Sod1 increased (p<0.05), indicating attenuation of $A{\beta}_{25-35}$ induced apoptosis. These results suggest that $PineXol^{(R)}$ may be a good candidate for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease(AD).

잣가루가 석탄병(惜呑餠)의 기호도와 Texture에 미치는 영향 및 석탄병 제조법의 표준화에 관한 연구 (Studies in the Influence of Ground Pine Nuts on the Degree of the Taste and Texture of Seoktanbyung and in the Standardization of the Preparing Method of Seoktanbyung)

  • Seoktanbyung, a traditional rice cake, was named in old literature, since from old times its taste was so good that one was not able to eat it without much regret. To suggest its standard preparing method, we prepared it by 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of the moderate standard of ground pine nuts which had much influence on its own special soft texture. The result of the analysis was as follows: The water content of Seoktanbyung was $31.62{\sim}34.62%$. The degree of colour was L value: $48.17{\sim}56.88$, a value: $6.07{\sim}8.24$, and b value: $12.67{\sim}15.25$, and the higher the degree of the addition of ground pine nuts was, L value and a value were more or less decreased, but b value was increased. The measured result of texture was: as for hardness and gumminess, there was a significance (p<0.05) between Seoktanbyung with and without ground pine nuts, and as for cohesiveness, there was a significance (p<0.05) between Seoktanbyung added 20% of ground pine nuts and another material, but each material showed a similar value of measure. The result of sensory evaluation was: as for sweetness and flavor, there was no significance among material, so ground pine nuts had no influence on the sweetness and flavor of Seoktanbyung, and as for crumbness and chewiness, there was a significance between Seoktanbyung with and without ground pine nuts. The general degree of the taste was: Seoktanbyung added 20% of ground pine nuts was the highest among others.

Litterfall and Nutrient Dynamics in Pine (Pinus rigida) and Larch (Larix leptolepis) Plantations

  • Litterfall and nutrient inputs were measured in even-aged coniferous plantations (a 31-year-old Pinus rigida and a 31-year-old Larix leptolepis) on a similar site condition in the Forest Practice Research Center, Gyeonggi Province. Litterfall was collected monthly from circular littertraps (collecting area: $0.50m^2$) for three years between April 1997 and February 2000. Average total annual litterfall was significantly higher for pine (5,802 kg/ha/yr) than for larch (4,562 kg/ha/yr) plantations. Needle litter in both plantations accounted for about 63% of total litterfall. Litterfall in the larch was distributed as follows: needle > other leaf > branch > miscellaneous > bark, while it was needle > miscellaneous > other leaf > branch > bark in the pine plantation. There was no temporal variation in needle litter, other leaf and bark during the 3 year study period. The concentrations of all nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg) in needle litter were significantly higher in the larch than in the pine plantations. The annual nutrient concentration of needle litter in the larch varied among the years, whereas no year variation of needle litter was in the pine except for phosphorus (P). Nitrogen (N) and P inputs by needle litter were significantly higher for larch than for pine plantations established on a similar soil. The differences in N and P inputs were attributed to lower nutrient concentration in pine needle litter compared with larch needle litter, not to total needle litter mass. Annual inputs of nutrient in both plantations were not significantly different among years except for K of the larch although there was yearly different in needlefall mass and nutrient concentration during the 3-year observed period. The results indicate that the mechanisms of litterfall and nutrient inputs vary considerably between pine and larch plantations established on a similar site condition.

들깨와 잣 첨가식이(添加食餌)가 흰쥐의 혈청(血淸) 지질(脂質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Perilla and Pine Nut Diets on Serum Lipids in Rats.)

  • The study was performed to understand the effects of perilla and pine nut oils on hypercholesterolemia in cholesterol-fed male rats. All rats fed with the experimental diets for 3 weeks were decapitated to take serum. From the serum, the levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, free cholesterol, phospholipid, lipoprotein and glucose were measured, and the results were summarized as follows. 1. The experimental diets supplemented with perilla and pine nut did not influence on the body weight and on amount of food intake, but decreased significantly total cholesterol level by the rate of 22-30% 2. The perilla diets decreased the ${\beta}-/{\alpha}-lipoprotein$ value from 0.99 to 0.50-0.51, but the pine nut diets decreased to 0.68-0.69. 3. The 10% diets of perilla and pine nut decreased the triglyceride concentration by the rate of 11-14%, but it was not significant difference. 4. The perilla diets increased the HDL-cholesterol level by the rate of 53-72%, and the pine nut diets 72-92%, but both of these diets did not influence on the free cholesterol concentration. 5. The perilla diets decreased phospholipid concentration by the rate of 20-23%, but it was not significant difference. 6. The diets of 10% perilla and 5% pine nut decreased significantly the free fatty acid concentration by the rate of 48% and 34% respectively. 7. The diets of 10% perilla and pine nut decreased a little the glucose level, but it was not significant difference.

잣나무 생지엽(生枝葉) 사일리지 급여가 거세한우의 반추위 발효성상 및 스트레스 관련 Hormone의 혈 중 농도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pine Silage Feeding on Ruminal Fermentation Characteristics, and Blood Concentrations of Stress-Related Hormones in HANWOO Steers)

  • This study was conducted to utilize the wastes produced from thinning the forest as a roughage source for ruminants. Four ruminally cannulated Korean steers were used to investigate the ruminal fermentation characteristics and blood concentrations of stress-related hormones. Treatments were composed of the rice straw only (Control) and the 30% pine silage plus 70% rice straw(Pine silage) as roughages. The experiment was conducted with four replicates by a double tum over design. For sampling of blood under high temperature steers were accommodated in respiratory chamber. Concentrations of ruminal pH, volatile fatty acids and ammonia were not affected by substitution of pine silage. Mean concentration of blood thyroxine was significantly(P < 0.01) lower in the pine silage than the control. However, blood cortisol concentration was not affected by substitution of pine silage, even though it was significantly(P < 0.05) decreased after exposure for 6 hrs in high temperature. It was concluded that the pine silage using the wastes produced from thinning the forest could be use as a substitute roughage for reduction of heat stress in ruminant.

침엽수재(針葉樹材)의 원목형질(原木形質)과 단판결함(單板缺陷)이 단판(單板) 및 합판제조수율(合板製造收率)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Softwood Log Property and Veneer Defect on Veneer-and Plywood Manufacturing Yield)

  • Our plywood manufacturing industries which entertained prosperous stage in late 1970's have come to be in face of the problems of conceedingly obtaining good quality logs and yield up-grading, which is considered by future-replaceable forest resources. In view of this point, manufacturing characteristic on softwood plywood using Japanese larch, pitch pine as domestic plantation species, and western hemlock as foreign species was studied. In this study, veneer- and plywood manufacturing yields were discussed in relation to log properties and veneer defects (knots). The summarized conclusions were as follows: 1. The majority of sample logs belonged to second grade on the standard. And, eccentricity of larch was the highest 11%, about 2 times those of pitch pine, hemlock. 2. Knot frequency of occurrence of larch reached 19% within log height 8m, and pitch pine 13% within 4m. Correspondingly, the log height of larch available for plywood manufacture was higher by about 2 times that of pitch pine. 3. In the knot types, most of knots of larch appeared dead, whereas those of pitch pine and hemlock appeared live. In size of knots, larch and hemlock showed relatively small 1-2cm dia. by 70% or more and pitch pine did the larger 24cm by 65%. Generally the more knot emerged in the inner side of veneer than the outer. 4. Plywood manufacturing yields by peeling with spindle revolution lathe were 37% in larch > 32% in hemlock> 26% in pitch pine. S. Jointed core veneer yields by peeling with outer perimeter back-up lathe were 55% in hemlock> 53% in larch> and 48% in pitch pine.

소나무잎에 침착된 PCBs의 샘플링 오차에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Sampling Error of PCBs Deposited on Pine Needles)

  • 대기중에 PCBs의 바이오 모니터용으로 널리 이용되고 있는 소나무잎을 채취할 때 발생하는 오차를 줄이기 위한 방법에 관하여 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 새잎에서부터 3년생 잎까지 소나무잎에 농축된 ${\sum}$PCBs의 농도는 거의 일정한 율로 증가하는 바소나무잎은 대기중 PCBs의 장기간에 걸친 바이오 모니터링용으로 이용할 수 있음을 알았다. 반면,이러한 특성은 어린잎과 오래된 잎을 혼합하여 분석하거나 서로 다른 지역 간의 오염도를 비교할 때 연도가 서로 다른 잎들 중의 농도를 비교해서는 아니된다는 것을 말해준다. 2. 서로 수령이 다른 몇 그루의 나무에서 채취한 잎중 ${\sum}$PCBs의 차이는 거의 없었다. 3. 높은 나무 꼭데기에서 자라는 잎에 침착된 ${\sum}$PCBs 농도가 지상 가까이에서 자라는 나뭇잎에서 보다 낮은 농도를 보였다. 4. 다른 나뭇가지나 숲으로 가려져 있어 통풍이 원활하지 못하는 곳에서 자라는 잎은 통풍이 잘 되는 곳에서 자란 잎에 비하여 침착된 ${\sum}$PCBs의 농도거 상당히 낮은 값을 보였다.

솔잎분말 첨가에 따른 밀가루 반죽의 물리적 특성 (Rheological Properties of Dough Added with Pine Needle Powder)

  • 본 연구에서는 솔잎분말을 첨가하여 기능성식빵을 제조하기 위한 반죽의 품질특성을 조사하였다. 일반 성분측정 결과 생 솔잎은 수분 58.1%, 조단백질 4.5%, 조지방 3.9%, 조회분 0.9%, 식이섬유량 9.3%로 나타났다. 반죽의 pH 측정 결파 대조구의 pH는 5.9, 솔잎분말 $1{\sim}3%$ 첨가시에는 $5.8{\sim}5.5$ 범위로 나타났다. 반죽의 호화도는 솔잎분말 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 호화 개시 온도는 증가하였고 최고 점도는 감소하였다. 반죽의 falling number는 솔잎분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 낮아졌다. Farinograph, alveograph에 의한 분석결과 수분흡수율의 경우 솔잎분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 반죽 안정도는 증가하였고, 반죽 발전시간은 감소하였다. Alveograph은 최대압력을 나타내는 P값은 솔잎분말의 첨가량이 증가할수록 낮아졌고 부피와 신장성도 솔잎의 첨가량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. 반죽 발효팽창력 또한 솔잎분말의 첨가량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. 솔잎분말의 첨가량이 증가할수록 제빵 반죽의 물리성이 떨어진다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
