Total Quality Management (TQM) is the aggregated management philosophy for quality including production, operation, human resource, leadership, marketing, and etc. TQM is the advanced concept and philosophy rather than traditional "Quality Control" or "Quality Assurance". Nowadays, downstream costs has been increased, that made cost accountants' attention to costs of quality. Many countries have developed their own quality awards system in order to improve overall national quality level. The Deming Prize of Japan and Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) of United States are two representatives of quality prizes. We compared the two awards by means of their history, objective, coverage, and judging criteria. Deming Prize has a longer history than MBNQA. Deming Prize selects five winners a year, while MBNQA has two or three areas. The biggest difference is judgement criteria. The Deming Prizes focuses on statistical control which is a traditional quality control method, while MBNQA concentrates on modem business concept such as customer satisfaction. The suggestions to these awards are: evaluate more on information of quality; evaluate more on inter-functional relationship between quality control function and other link more financial success.e financial success.

The Taiwan National Quality Award (TNQA) has been conducted for 14 years. However, small and medium-sized companies (SMSCs) rarely win the TNQA. This study undertakes a capability analysis to explore how SMSCs do win the TNQA. A survey instrument involving 149 questions extracted from 'the 2001 Handbook of Standard Criteria for Evaluation of TNQA' is used to measure the capability of SMSCs in competing for the TNQA. The paper concludes with a summary of the essential qualities required by an SMSC if it is to compete successfully for the TNQA.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to lay groundwork for future research on the outcomes of national quality awards for secondary-care healthcare organizations. Methods: For this study, a secondary-care hospital was selected through a convenience sampling method and all of its organizational members participated in complete enumeration survey using 109 survey questions derived from the MBNQA criteria for healthcare through structural equation modeling (SEM) Results: As a result, Leadership was shown to drive Foundation and Direction, which affect System that creates Results with 12 hypotheses supported out of 18 hypotheses established. Conclusion: The findings of this study will provide valuable implications to the top management of secondary-care hospitals for self-examining quality management and promoting sustainable competitiveness.

This study was examined the quality characteristics of 20 types of non-sterilized commercial Makgeolli. These samples are classified according to firm size, enterprise Makgeolli(4 samples), prize-winning Makgeolli(6) and local Makgeolli(10). The alcohol contents of Makgeolli was determinded as follows: enterprise Makgeolli(6.18%), local Makgeolli(7.11%), and award-winning( 7.87%). Enterprise Makgeolli(0.24%) showed higher total acidity than award-winning and local Makgeolli(0.21%). In addition, pH levels were as follows: local Makgeolli(3.75), award-winning Makgeolli(3.77), and enterprise Makgeolli(4.09). Enterprise Makgeolli had the lowest sugar content. According to the sensory evaluation, three grades were identified based on balance and taste(5 points). The upper grade(more than 3 points) showed a higher pH, reducing sugar, higher aminoacidity, more soluble solids, and larger color differences than other grades. There were no significant differences in the level of acidity across the grades. The alcohol and volatile acid contents of the upper grade were lower than the middle(2.0-2.9 points) and lower(under 2.0 points) grades. Further research should provide a quality analysis of leavening agents and fermentation conditions, and a sensory evaluation.

The learning, which is an extended concept from the concept of continuos improvement and replace it, has become a very important core concept in Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award these days. The most potent core value among 11 core values is 'organizational and personal learning' Embedded learning in the organization is also a critical part to get a high score in approach scoring criteria for 6 categories except results category. But the concept of learning is often overlooked for the people who have interests in MB award or TQM. This paper review and analyze the concept of learning which has appeared In MB criteria since it's first appearance.

Performance measurement is increasingly becoming a vital issue for promoting quality management within an organization. This research proposes a new performance measurement approach, called the Hierarchically Associated Performance Measurement, for the organizations which emphasize long term quality thrust through a balanced interface between the quality efforts of various units. The proposed approach is unique in that it considers relationships between internal quality activities and national quality award criteria and that it identifies and utilizes the quality responsibilities of functional units in order to encompass organizational roles in the evaluation process. The approach is illustrated via a numerical evaluation of a fictitious organization.

Quality management has become an pervasive philosophy in most sectors of business. Specific movements such as statistical quality control, quality circle, total quality management, and quality management system have become embedded in business organizations. Only the companies with competitive edge can survive in the competition in global market. KSA(Korean Standards Association) established in 1962 has launched all kinds of quality education, quality standard certification service for business, and KNQA(Korean National Quality Award) system. This article considers quality competitiveness excellent company award among KNQA. We performed a statistical analysis of audit data for quality competitiveness excellent company for three years, from 2015 to 2017. By using ANOVA and two sample t-tests, the average scores of 13 evaluation fields were significantly different depending on company size and type. We proposed ways to improve the current hall of fame system. We discovered that the average scores of 13 evaluation fields in the audit data according to years and hall of fame status were not significantly different. We also showed linear relationships among 13 evaluation fields by correlation analysis and obtained an estimated linear regression equation : Business Performance, which is a comprehensive index, as a dependent variable was significantly related to Customer Focus and Product Liability as regressor variables among 13 evaluation fields by regression analysis.

TQM(total quality management) is accepted as the powerful and holistic management innovation tools in the worldwide corporations since "Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award" model is established by US government. But nowadays, TQM′s roles and positions for the competitiveness is challenged from other many management innovations tools. This paper identifies the TQM′s roles and positions as the sources of sustainable competitive advantages through the examples of Japanese manufacturing corporations which enjoy the strongest positions since 1980′s in world market.

Until now, our country environment management system are operated by past control system, but which system have many restrict to be familiar environment. Nowadays, many company try proactive control environment management system, specially by ISO 14001 system. In this paper we propose new Excellence Environmental Management Strategic which are compounded with Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award and ISO 14001.

본 연구는 국내 의료 서비스 산업에 적합한 한국형 의료서비스 품질상 모형을 개발하고 이의 타당도를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 미국의 말콤볼드리지 국가품질상(The Malcolm Bladrige National Quality Award)의 평가기준인 리더십, 전략계획, 환자 고객 시장 중시, 측정 분석 지식관리, 인적자원 중시, 프로세스 관리, 사업성과의 7개 항목을 이용하였다.
