The components, configurations and analysis on cost - effectiveness for a library network are studied. In discussing the effectiveness of network, it was divided into 1) the effectiveness of on-line system, 2) the economy in the cost of information processing and management, 3) the effectiveness caused by the increase of information users and 4) the effectiveness by circulation of library holdings.

This study is a structural analysis of a multi-type and multi-level library network within the framework of a regional interlibrary loan (ILL) system. The study monitored to information network structure for resource sharing of academic and research library materials transmitted through the ILL. The local flow of academic and research information was measured by a survey of the filled ILL transactions by individual libraries in the Western 3Rs region. The major findings were as follows: 1) the regional ILL network showed less than half of participation of the total subject libraries, 2) existing structure surveyed was identified as a composite centralized network with three communication groups, 3) depending on the types of materials transacted, the structure were changed, 4) statewide and multi-state library cooperatives had direct interactions with some of the local libraries, 5) individual libraries participated in the ILL network more for periodicals than book materials, 6) academic libraries throughout the total six structure analyzed showed the highest percentage of participation.

이 연구는 대학 및 연구기관의 도서관들이 자원의 공동 활용을 위해 이용하는 과학기술분야 정보유통 체제의 기능과 역할 및 서비스 내용을 조사 분석 하는 것이다. 이러한 연구는 이 정보유통체제들의 활동과 서비스의 중복성 여부를 규명해서 중복투자에 의한 국가적 예산 낭비를 줄일 수 있도록 하고, 정보이용자 및 정보 관리자들에게는 필요한 서비스만을 이용하도록 하여 시간과 노력과 경비를 절감할 수 있도록 하는데 필요한 것이다. 연구 대상으로는 KISTI와 KERIS를 선정하고 연구하였다. 연구방법으로는 문헌적 연구와 온라인상의 기능을 확인하기 위한 실제 분석을 병행 하였다. 연구 결과, 정보유통체제들의 서비스 및 정보의 중복성이 부분적으로 확인 되었다. 도서관네트웍으로서의 기능도 수행하고 있는 것으로 평가하였다.

오늘날 급속한 인쇄출판물의 증가에 따라 도서관계는 심각한 장서의 소장공간 부족문제를 겪고 있다. 문제해결방안 도출을 위해 먼저 해외 주요국의 자료공동보존 실태를 소개하구 국내사례로 국립중앙도서관의 자료보존관과 국립디지털 도서관의 자료보존서고 등을 살펴보았다. 또한 국립중앙도서관에서 발행한 "공공도서관협력망 운영실태 자료집 2005"를 기초로 하여 국내 공공도서관간 자료보존 협력 및 운영실태를 분석하였다. 이를 근거로 본고는 도서관계의 소장공간 부족문제 해결방안으로 현재 국립중앙도서관을 중앙관으로 하고 487개 공공도서관이 참여하는 $\lceil$공공도서관협력만$\rfloor$ 활용하여 공동보존도서관 및 국가보존도서관 설립방안을 제안하였다.

This study has been aimed to analyze the following three points which are believed to be the most important in establishing efficient library networks. The writers have done the research into the literature and references concerning the networks of library, as they are considered crucial functions in cooperative administration between the libraries. The following are the findings from the survey: 1) The established networks in foreign countries have been compared with those of Korea, basing upon the data and present situations in both areas and the definition and agreed viewpoint of the networks are presented. 2) The relations between the existing Library system and Consortia were clarified in view of the current trend, thus showing the scope and integral aspects of them. 3) Finally, we have classified the types of network into four categories, such as search service network, customized service network, service center/network and state local networks, and made through analysis of the character, organization and management of each realm.

우리나라 공공도서관은 도서관법이 제정된 이후 50여년도 되지 않는 짧은 기간 동안 수적으로 급속하게 증가하였다. 그러나 미국, 영국, 일본에 비해 1관당 봉사대상인원수는 여전히 많고, 공간, 예산, 인력 등 운영상 제약으로 지식정보서비스의 지속가능한 확대는 한계를 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 행정구역권을 중심으로 지식정보서비스 연계와 경영 효율성을 도모하고 있는 영국의 캄덴구, 일본의 대전구(大田區), 한국 부천시의 공공도서관 협력 네트워크 구축 사례를 분석하였다. 그 분석 결과를 토대로 공공도서관의 협력 네트워크 모형과 정책 제도적 지원 및 운영 효율화 방안을 제안하였다.

Efficient use of scientific and technical information is indispensable for research and development. This study is aimed at new system design of Agricultural Information for RDA Library operation by an expeditious system for appropriate support of research activities through information service. Current Library management factors such as organization, budget, collections, staff. space, and information service was surveyed and user's requirements was also evaluated. In order of optimize the information system performance the new designed system was suggested as follows : 1) Existing dispersed library functions have to be unified as a whole 2) Library could be reorganize as a independent unit 3) Construction of inter-library network between libraries engaged in the same field highly recommand for the exchange of information.

지식사회는 기존 보유 기술의 진화 방식이 아닌 전혀 새로운 기술 혁신에 의해 그 기반이 구성되고 있으며, 디지털 기술 기반 위에서 구성된 멀티미디어 네트워크에 의해 예전에 비해 수십 수백 배의 속도로 이루어지는 빠른 변화를 특성으로 한다. 따라서 이러한 환경에서 기대되는 디지털도서관 시스템 개발이 겨냥하는 미래 정보 이용자는 웹 이전세대의 이용자 수요나 정보 그 자체에 대한 가치 기준을 넘어서고 있다. 현재와 같은 멀티미디어 혁명과 네트워크 시장의 급격한 변화 추세에서 구현시키고자하는 디지털도서관을 정확하게 이해하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 이에 본 연구는 멀티미디어 정보 전송의 기반이 되는 네트워크 응용 현황과 기술적 동향을 일차적으로 검토하고, 미래 네트워크 인프라 구조의 변화를 조명하며, 멀티미디어 네트워크의 경제성과 정책과의 관계를 비판적으로 살펴보고자 한다.

본 연구의 목적은 국립어린이청소년도서관을 중심으로 국내 공공도서관의 어린이서비스 협력체계 구축 방안을 제시하여 향후 국립어린이청소년도서관을 통한 효율적이며 효과적인 온라인 및 오프라인 협력활동을 수행하며, 국내 공공도서관의 어린이서비스 협력체계를 기반으로 공공도서관의 어린이서비스의 발전 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위해 설문조사 및 면담조사를 수행하였으며, 이를 기반으로 어린이서비스 협력체계 및 전국어린이서비스 담당자 협의회 활성화 방향을 크게 협의회 위상강화 방안과 협의회 홈페이지의 서비스 개선 방안으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 먼저, 협의회 위상 강화 방안으로는 협의회 협력체계 확대 및 정립, 협의회 역할 강화 및 확대, 콘텐츠의 확보 및 공동 활용, 기타 필요한 방안 등으로 나누어 제시하였다. 다음으로 협의회 홈페이지의 서비스 개선 방향으로는 홈페이지 서비스 기능 강화, 커뮤니티 활성화 기능 강화 등으로 나누어 제시하였다.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망 환경상에서 구현될 정보시스템의 이론적인 틀을 구성한 다음 정보시스템 모형의 일부 기능을 멀티미디어 저작 도구를 가지고 실제 구현해 보았다. 시스템 모형은 JANUS Virtual Library, The Book House등과 같은 실제 시스템들을 기초로하여 구성하였고 시스템 구현에 사용된 지식베이스는 참고사서들과의 면담을 통해 얻은 데이터를 이용하여 구축하였다. 구현된 시스템은 참고 전문가시스템, 학술지 브라우징, 멀티미디어 데이타베이스, 온라인 열람목록, 외부 데이타베이스, 이용 안내의 6개의 모듈로 구성된다. 결론에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망을 구현하기 위해서 해겨해야 할 문제점들을 제시하였다.
