Detection of Central and Dispersion Tendencies (중심경향 및 퍼짐경향의 탐지)

  • We investigate both of central and dispersion tendencies of the observed test statistics in control charts in order to judge whether a production process is abnormal or not. In order to do it, first, we study about detection of changes of the population mean as a central tendency The $\bar{x}$ and x control charts are used for detecting the change of the population mean $\mu$. We shows the probability detecting the change of population mean using the $\bar{x}$ and x control charts. Secondly, we study about detection of changes of the population standard deviation as a dispersion tendency in the s control chart. In our studies, for the given several parameters the detection probabilities of changes of central and dispersion tendencies are calculated, the necessary sample size values n are suggested for detecting the changes, and their informations are given as various tables.

Decentralization of Agricultural Extension Services in Korea (지방화와 농촌지도사업)

  • The objective of this study is to provide direction for agricultural extension services in an age of localization. Agricultural extension services has carried out most of its activities by central direction and control. The central planning and management resulted in disappointment, inflexibility, and lack of responsiveness of the central bureaucracy. Facing localization in recent years, the extension system has not been satisfactorily developed to meet local demands. Korea has to choose to decentralize its extension services. The decentralization of extension services involves the transfer of planning, decision making, and management from the central government to the local level.

Elucidation of Central Line Refocusing in Quadrupolar Echo Formation

  • Quadrupolar interaction is a strong line broadening agent for nuclei of half-integer spin except the central line. The two-pulse quadrupolar echo technique is widely used, which refocuses the quadrupolar broadening. Echo formation is due to the cancellation of quadrupolar broadening effect by the applied two pulses. Since the central line is not quadrupolar broadened, it should not be involved in the echo formation. However, the central line peak always appears in experiments. This is explained qualitatively here by close examination on the time development of individual coherence. This explanation is used to predict the number of echoes that will be formed with 2 pulse sequence for nuclei of I=3/2, 5/2, 7/2, 9/2 with ease.

  • Forming central warehouses for a number of stores can save costs in the continuous review inventory model due to economy of scale and information sharing. In this paper, transportation costs are included in this inventory model. Hence, the tradeoff between inventory-related costs and transportation costs is required. The main concern of this paper is to determine the number and location of central warehouses. Transportation costs are dependent on the distance from several central warehouses to each store. Hence, we develop an efficient simulated annealing algorithm using distance-based local search heuristic and merging heuristic to determine the location and the number of central warehouses. The objective of this paper is to minimize total costs such as holding, setup, penalty, and transportation costs. The performance of the proposed approach is tested by using some computational experiments.

A Study on the Characteristic of the Folk Houses' Plans compared with Central Region's ones in Che-chun City (중부형민가와 비교를 통한 제천지역 민가의 평면특성에 관한 조사연구)

  • After 18th century in Korea, a tendency of the traditional folk houses shows not only the typical types but also the cultural areas in terms of each regional part. The existing folk houses are selected in order to compare the characteristic of the plans with those of the central region in Korea. Moreover this region has been a collided zone of culture and military from the old period of the Three Kingdoms, because the district of Che-chun is located between the southern part and the central one. So its culture and housing plan showed as unique forms, so-called the Culture of Frontier and Composite. Consequently the purposes of this study are to grasp the characteristic of those plans and to compare the plan types with ones of the central region. For the attainment of the above goal, this investigated study is prosecuted by means of the existing 6-folk houses in Che-chun city.

  • Most common web or application system architectures have central network. As a result, central network can be supervised and controlled in all situation. And It has the advantage of easy to manage and fast to work. However, central network have a disadvantage of weak to security and unclear. In particular, many institutions used by web system be has many problems by central network. In this paper, we proposed blokchain technology based on ethereum to resolve of problem and trading structure that arise in cental network. We propose a decentralized application based on points including cryptocurrency functions and smart contract to the advantages of blockchain with a decentralized structure. The results of the performance experiment are as follows; It has shown the advantages of reliable use and security in a variety of environments(Windows, Ubuntu, Mac).

  • According to the simplified Gringorten's method of extreme values from data samples, daily maximum precipitation and return period at several stations in the central part of Korea were estimated. And also, it was known that the distribution of daily maximum precipitation of Sogcho, Chuncheon, Kangreung, Seoul, Inchon, Suwon, Seosan, Cheongju and Daejeon area belong to an exponential type of distribution.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm of the guidance line extraction for autonomous agricultural robot based on vision camera in paddy field. It is the important process for guidance line extraction which finds the central point or area of rice row. We are trying to use the central region data of crop that the direction of rice leaves have convergence to central area of rice row in order to improve accuracy of the guidance line. The guidance line is extracted from the intersection points of extended virtual lines using the modified robust regression. The extended virtual lines are represented as the extended line from each segmented straight line created on the edges of the rice plants in the image using the Hough transform. We also have verified an accuracy of the proposed algorithm by experiments in the real wet paddy.

Development of stability maps for flashing-induced instability in a passive containment cooling system for iPOWER

  • A passive containment cooling system (PCCS) has been developed as advanced safety feature for innovative power reactor (iPOWER). Passive systems are inherently less stable than active systems and the PCCS encountered the flashing-induced instability previously identified. The objective of this study is to develop stability maps for flashing-induced instability using MARS (Multi-dimensional Analysis of Reactor Safety) code. Firstly, we conducted a series of sensitivity analysis to see the effects of time step size, nodalization, and alternative MARS user options on the onset of flashing-induced instability. The riser nodalization strongly affects the prediction of flashing in a long riser of the PCCS, while time step size and alternative user options do not. Based on the sensitivity analysis, a standard input and an analysis methodology were set up to develop the stability maps of PCCS. We found out that the calculated equilibrium quality at the exit of the riser as a stability boundary above 5 kW/㎡ was approximately 1.2%, which was in good agreement with Furuya's results. However, in case of a very low heat flux condition, the onset of instability occurred at the lower equilibrium quality. In addition, it was confirmed that inlet throttling reduces the unstable region.
