Although design-build construction projects have recently increased. general conditions of construction contract are not reflecting the characteristic of design-build construction projects neither performing its fundamental roles as implying many claim elements. So. this study aims to propose the basis for improving the general conditions of the domestic design-build construction projects. This study reviews literatures associated with design-build construction contract and analyses domestic general conditions into foreign standard forms of general conditions. Additionally, it is examined the problems of design-build construction contracts and performed questionnaire survey to the practitioner in the construction contract field. In doing so, this study suggests the direction for improving general conditions of domestic design-build construction projects.

In this study, database schema which is capable of maintaining various design-knowledge and applicable to the structural designs has been presented. Futhermore, by utilizing the database system, RECODSS (REinforced COncrete Design Support System) was developed as well. Knowledge-base that were formulated from the document is constructed by applying the concrete standard specifications of Korea from 1989. The basic drawing was prepared by $AutoCAD^TM$. As an inference in the preliminary design, the certainty function and the interpolation function were presented. The certainty function is made by assuming linear relations between each data while referencing $MYCIN^TM$ (expert systems). Nevertheless, the interpolation function was made by utilizing the linear Lagrange interpolation. For the search of the design-knowledge, fast search algorithm and full-text search algorithm were used, however, the design engine was programmed with C language. RECODSS was applied for designing a slab and a beam member. And the results were compared with the existing results. In conclusion, RECODSS was able to efficiently manage various design knowledge and to introduce stable design results.

The research on meteorological data in Korea has been carried out but without much consistency and has been limited to some areas only. Of relatively more importance has been the area in the utilization of the solar energy, however, the measurement of the global solar horizontal irradiation has been quite limited. In the current study, the actually measured value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the meteorological data and the theoretically calculated value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the cloud amount will be analyzed comparatively. The method of analysis will employ the standard meteorological data drafted by the Korean Solar Energy Society, the standard meteorological data from the presently used simulation program and the corresponding results have been compared with the calculated value of the global solar horizontal irradiation from the cloud amount. The results of comparing the values obtained from MBE(Mean Bias Error), RMSE(Root Mean Squares for Error), t-Statistic methods and those from each of the standard meteorological data show that the actually measured value of the meteorological data which have been converted into standard meteorological data with the help of the ISO TRY method give the monthly average value of the global solar horizontal irradiation. These values compared with the monthly average value from the IWEC from the Department of Energy of the USA show that the value of the global solar horizontal irradiation in the USA is quite similar. In the case of the values obtained from calculation from the cloud amount, the weather data provided by TRNSYS, except only slight difference, which means that the actually measured values of the global solar horizontal irradiation are significant. This goes to show that in the case of Korea, the value of the global solar horizontal irradiation provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration is will be deemed correct.

oneM2M has been adopted to national and global smart city platforms leveraging its benefits, oneM2M platform assures interoperability to devices and services with standard APIs. Existing access control mechanisms in the standard should be extended to easily distribute smart city data. Compared to the as-is standard, this paper proposes a new access control method with minimum human interventions during data distribution between data sellers and buyers. The proposal has been implemented as the new data marketplace APIs to oneM2M platform and used for data marketplace portal interworking. This also has been demonstrated with smart city PoC service.

Slips and falls are associated with many occupational injuries in Korea. It is also estimated that slipping are major contributors to slip, trip and fall injury burden. So "LOCAL RULE ON OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDAR D" must be improved, especially article 3(prevention of slip, trip and fall). The primary purpose of the present study is to determine if, and to what extent, the standard could be improved in present environment. In order to fulfill our objective, the another regulation in Korea and foreign countries were investigated and reviewed. Many kind of standard, mandatory documents and guideline were also reviewed. And then, regulations, standard, guideline etc. reviewed were compared with each others. The article 3 was revised as below. 1. The floors of the traffic route in workplace shall have no hole or slope, or be uneven or slippery so as, in each case, to expose employees to slip, trip and fall risk, except if adequate measures have been taken to prevent a employees falling. 2. The employer shall design, install and fix the drain for effective drainage if fluid contaminants were frequently occurred. So far as is reasonably practicable, An employer shall keep the workplace clean, sanitary, and dry so that employees won't have any risk to tripping or slipping at the workplace. 3. To facilitate cleaning, every floor, workplace, and passageway shall be, so far as is reasonably practicable, kept free from protruding objects, splinters, holes, etc. Also, some criteria was developed in this study. Standard and criteria developed in this study will help to prevent slip, trip, and fall injuries.

In this paper, we study a method of designing a reflector for LED light sources with an asymmetric light distribution. In a sports game, lighting with a symmetric distribution makes the athlete and spectators look directly at the light source, so it can cause glare. We derive the optimal tilt angle and design a reflector with asymmetric light distribution to solve these problems. Afterward, performance is analyzed according to the tennis-court lighting standard, and is confirmed to meet the class 1 European standard.

Purpose - This research empirically proves that global shipbuilding industry leadership has moved to China from Korea. Design/Methodology - Competitiveness is measured by AHP for the weights of comprehensive competitiveness, which is the output mixture of three attributive factors: shipbuilding technology, shipbuilding contract price, and export credit. Findings - China is far ahead of Korea for standard vessels such as bulkers and containerships with competitiveness weights of 0.762 and 0.612, respectively, against 0.238 and 0.388 of Korea. Korea is maintaining its competitiveness only in LNG carriers (174k CBM) with a competitiveness weight 0.621. China and Korea have similar competitiveness for chemical carriers, complex vessels with a small hull size. The sources of Chinese competitiveness are shipbuilding contract price and export credit. With the majority share of standard vessel types in the world fleet, China will hold a bigger market share than Korea in the global shipbuilding industry in the forthcoming years. Implications - The swing factors of market power are shipbuilding technology and contract price. If China fails to further develop shipbuilding technology for shipowners worried about the reliability of the Chinese-built vessels, shipowners may swing back to Korea. The rising Chinese labor cost will expedite this swing in the forthcoming competition. Originality/value - To the best of the author's knowledge, this is the first paper that quantitatively examines the competitiveness of shipbuilding between China and Korea by comparing attributive factors for competitiveness.

Recent tendency in modern society for urban design and public space forming it recommended diversity of studies and design development, for the interest in urban design is increasing. In particular, street furniture being one of the important components to construct public space has been researched and developed in aspects of formative and emotional style, broken from the old way of the function-oriented purpose. It could be said that this results from the desire of human pursuing a well-off life, the new value standard regarding design and the life styles in mode. The new development of street furniture could be a creating the value-added source potentially being able to raise community, identity of nation and international competitiveness, beyond the primary purpose, namely the improvement of surrounding environment, and therefore the most of countries in the world are concentrating their life and death on development of design in reality. For this investigation the concept of city design, the basic content analysis of the street furniture and also the contents in the related sectors were reported. In order to develop the bench design, one of the representative items of the street furniture furthermore it was proceeded that basic process for the design like data searching for the object place and the existing case studies. On the basis of this the series of the design development processes such as idea sketch, computer rendering and drawing work were described step by step. The aim of this study is therefore to contribute in compiling the development processes of bench design as a new shape into a data and in utilizing it as a design case study and research material in the related sectors.

In the perspective of hybrid, design contains confused forms and styles. Thus, the question is what 'decisively affects' on life, happiness and peace of human beings: In the past scientific ecology that tries to solve the problem in the aspect of functional design was important. Now the question is beyond the scientific ecology because human has a different way of environmental adaptation from animals. From this point of view, design is defined as something beyond materialistic standard. Terry Eagleton said, 'Creative ability deviating oneself and transcending is the very standard to measure human beings' A tendency to hybridize one's own section off genre or pursuing dismantlement is found on such creative perspective. In other words, it focuses on making a space of human's cultural behavior by unifying creatively natural environment and architecture space in the organic aspect. Such phenomenon provides a new chance and possibility in environmental design through a new molding experiment according to the development of digital technology. As experiments of environment design using digital technology are actively implemented, ecological and cultural views hybridize to create a new cultural space of various functions and features. Such experiment in environment design highlights the connections of ecological view, recognition of value, and relation-centered ideas, and enables a tool pursuing a new cultural development. This study focuses on the paradigm of such digital hybrid design and purposes to set the system by analyzing the application styles and principles of environment design through theoretical and case studies. In addition, it promotes a new possibility to develop environment design in the history of civilization.

Purpose: As medicare services have gotten spreaded, clinical laboratory has been dominant position. So, it has been acted for quality control and clinical pathology accreditation. But there has been quite deficient information to evaluate working space and technical standards of medical laboratory for accreditation. This study goals to figure out accreditation standard and design guideline for clinical laboratory, and to give safe and efficient design information. Methods: This study has been searched by literature for accreditation standards and design guidelines of clinical pathology in USA, UK, and Germany. Results: Three countries have accredited based on working lab space, staff space, storage space, patient space and health and safety equipment. Design guidelines of three countries commonly have focused on worktable layout, worktable distance and module, and specific laboratory biosafety level. And USA guidelines stress on the architectural design such as design process and passage distance for escape, UK stress on the efficiency as functional work flow and construction cost, lastly Germany design guidelines stress on the operator's safety distance and workstation. Three countries have not only accreditation standards but also design guidelines for more specific quality management, separating from accrediting institute. Implications: In korea, it has been needed to make clinical laboratory design guideline for the safe and efficient environment and reliable and competitive medical service.
