In the Knowledge-based Economic Era, all of the enterprises are facing global competitive pressure. The activities of knowledge accessing, codifying, and application will obviously become the main inner function on enterprise operation. Knowledge will be the primary competitive advantage; therefore, he who wants to hold the competitive advantage should do the knowledge management (KM) very well. In this study, we construct the research dimensions and variances by the successful factors of KM, which had been practiced very well by big enterprises inside and outside our country, and which was recommended by the related scholars. In order to approach the differences between big enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) towards implementing KM, this study takes the way of questionnaire investigation to do empirical analysis and to construct the model of KM by path analysis. The study found out when implementing KM, SMEs should highlight 'leadership,' 'library-architecture,' and 'corporate culture' these three aspects, while 'information technology' and 'performance evaluation' these two aspects show no remarkable influence. It shows that he who wants to construct KM might not too overweight on information technology to build the KM system. Therefore, we suggest when implementing KM, enterprises should reinforce the corporate culture by sharing, organized KM process, learning environment for all employees, and highly authorization by top managers in order to reach the expectant success of KM. The result of this study offers practical thinking directions to reach the expectant success for the policy makers in SMEs, who are accessing to or evaluating to implement KM.
The purpose of this study was to elucidate elementary school teachers' pedagogical content knowledge regarding the subject of "weight and pressure in water". 6 elementary teachers in charge of the 6th grade were selected for this study. The 7 hour lessons were observed over $15{\sim}20$ days, and a variety of data including scenarios, questionnaires for teachers, interviews of teachers were analyzed. As a result of this study, teachers who had long career histories thought that the purpose of teaching science was to teach the use of science principles, and teachers who had only taught for a relatively short time thought the purpose was satisfying students' curiosity. Most of the teachers felt that the science content knowledge related to buoyancy was insufficient. They had acquired most of the science content knowledge from teaming experiences in middle and high schools. The pre-service teacher education programs didn't help them to satisfactorily acquire the science content knowledge under analysis here. Most of the teachers taught the science lessons according to the order of sequence as shown in the science textbook. They didn't teach the contents that they thought were needed if they were not already included in the science textbook. Only one teacher who had taken science courses in high school managed the science classes freely according to his own thoughts and opinions. From the results of this research, it could be concluded that most elementary school teachers did not have enough pedagogical content knowledge to teach their students effectively.
The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of sexual rehabilitation education on the knowledge and adjustment of sexual of spinal cord injury clients by the method of nonequivalant control group pretest-posttest group. The data were collected from Jan. 19 though Feb. 16, 2000. The experimental group was 26 spinal cord injury client from one rehabilitation center, and the control group was 26 spinal cord injury client from two rehabilitation center. Sexual rehabilitation education was done with manuals, videotapes and chart. Education time was 120 minutes a week for 2 weeks. The study tool was about Sexual Knowledge, designed Song, Chung Sook(1990) and SIAC(Sexual, Interest, Activity, & Satisfaction) designed Kruter, Sullivan, Siosteen(1994) translated by Kang, Hyun Sook, Koh, Jung Eun, Suh, Yeon Ok, Yee, Oon Hee(1999). This study clarified the knowledge structure of international collaboration in psychiatry based on analyzing networks in order to construct cooperation networks for international collaboration in psychiatry in South Korea. The result of analysis of knowledge structure at a state-level is as follows. First, this study found that the rate of collaboration for five years is high as 89.97%. Moreover, this study investigated the change of rate of collaboration and international collaboration according to the passage of time, and ascertained that while the rate of international collaboration has increased, Second, this study examined the trend of research on collaboration between Asian countries, and found that collaboration between Asian countries is on a low level. Third, the country (or group) that the number of papers of international collaboration and the value of centrality are the highest is EU-28. The result of analysis of knowledge structure at a research output-level is as follows. this study analyzed the correlation of centrality with research output, and found that positive correlation exists in the three indicators of centrality, and a country with high centrality has good research output.
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to enhance the effect of pictures on sexual education on primary school children which is one of the most crucial topics in health education and to evaluate how utilizing drawings can contribute to the development of school children's appropriate knowledge and attitude toward sexuality. Methods: This research followed the pre-test /post-test experimental and control group design. The selected school children of four classes at sixth grade in the H primary school in Gyeongi-do uijeongbu province had a pre-test about the knowledge and attitude toward sexuality. With the result of homogeneity data, three classes out of the four classes were chosen to be the subject of the post-test and these three groups took the "Sexual Education through Pictures." Results: After analyzing the data, average scores about the knowledge for class participants were higher than the non participants' (p =.000). Average scores about the knowledge of boys and girls who participated in class were higher than the non participants' (boys; p =.00, girls: p =.000). In addition, average scores about the attitude for class participants' were higher than the non participants' (p =.03), but there was not statistically significant among gender. Conclusion: From the results above, "Sexual Education through Pictures" proved to be a systematic and scientific method to develop a positive influence towards the knowledge and attitude of sexuality for primary school children of the sixth graders. These results show that the above teaching materials suggest an effective method to develop appropriate knowledge and attitude towards primary school children's sexual education.
The purpose of this study is to examine the nutrition knowledge, characteristics related to, nutrient intakes, anthropometrics, biochemical indices of university female students by major (food and nutrition versus physical science). Data were taken from 120 university female students (60 from each major) and the results follows. The mean age of the subjects was 19.6 years old. Most of subjects responded that they were healthy; subjects majoring in physical science scored higher in regular exercise (p < 0.01) and were more satisfied with their own body figures (p < 0.01), compared with the counterparts. The total nutrition knowledge score was $81.01{\pm}12.3$ for food and nutrition majors and $72.5{\pm}15.2$ points for physical science majors. (p < 0.01) The percentages of body fat were significantly higher in the food and nutrition students than the counterparts. (p < 0.001) The result of biochemical analysis showed that both groups were in normal range. But there was some statistically significant difference between groups in GTP, HDL-cholesterol and ALP levels. It suggests that regular exercise might have a positive effect on the body. This study showed that although both groups had different knowledge of nutrition, there was not much difference in the intakes of nutrients. But especially, the intakes of calcium and iron were quite low in both groups. Subjects majoring in Physical science had more lipid intake, but they had lower body fat. This suggests that regular exercise in this group might have effects on the percentages of body fat. In future study, nutrition education might be planned to increase nutrition knowledge and to connect nutrition knowledge to eating behaviors and to promote health to regular exercise. Also, the desire and the social perception for pursuing alean body figure and being underweight should be changed for optimal health.

This study aims not only to examine the globalization, imformationization, and networking as background of knowledge-information-based society, but also to clarify the research fields of 'geography of knowledge' and further research themes for economic geography in a knowledge-information-based society. As a result of globalization, the degree of regional disparity, which had decreased with neoliberal policy in Europe and America in 1980's, has increased in early development states such as China and Eastern European countries. In opposition to the globalization that has led to increasing regional disparities at a global scale, many scholars argue that grassroots globalization or globalization from below is needed. Based on a pessimistic view on globalization, many maintain that unequal access to information has enlarged the gap between rich and poor. They also argue that the study of the geography of poverty is crucial in oder to solve the problem of bipolization. According to the world system theory, spatial grasp of commodity chains, actors' diversities, flows towards innovation in learning knowledges, and geographical, organizational, and institutional proximities are intertwined. Because these elements make significant influences each other in social networks, the interrelationships among those elements should be carefully considered. A 'geography of knowledge' deals with manufacturing, finance and service, media, cultural, and creative industries. Former researches in economic geography have tended to deal with those industries separately without attempting to make meaningful linkages among discussions on those industries.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of self-efficacy, knowledge about the disease, and self-care behavior to the metabolic level in patients with NIDDM. Method: Data were collected from March 15 to April 15, 2001. Participants in the study were 48 patients with NIDDM who were seen regularly at the endocrinology out-patient department of Gwangju Christian Hospital. The data were collected through individual interviews and patient blood samples. The data were analyzed with SPSS/PC+, using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and Cronbach's Alpha. Result: 1. The mean score for self-efficacy was $71.37{\pm}15.56$, knowledge $15.00{\pm}2.84$, self-care behavior $63.18{\pm}13.10$. The mean score for HbAlc level was $7.66{\pm}1.77%$, HDL cholesterol level, $46.22{\pm}13.04 mg/dl$ and total cholesterol level, $187.93{\pm}41.45 mg/dl$. 2. There was a significant difference between patients with a spouse and those without one (t=-2.08, p=0.042), in knowledge according to level of obesity (t=5.14, p=0.010), duration of illness (t=3.22, p=0.031) and presence of complications related to diabetes (t=-2.58, p= 0.013). There were no significant differences in self-care behavior, but there were significant differences in sugar metabolic level according to sex (t=-2.02, p=0.050). 3. The correlation between diabetic patients' self-efficacy, knowledge and self-care behaviour and metabolic control was significantly related only to self-efficacy and self-care behavior (r=.692, p=0.000). Conclusion: It is necessary to improve self-efficacy, knowledge, and self-care behavior for patients with NIDDM by using nursing intervention programs to promote and maintain metabolic control.
This study was conducted to test whether a comprehensive health promotion program for promotion strategies and knowledge about the disease, thus leading to the improvement of health status by using repeated measure of quasi- experiment design. Eighteen RA patients who visited the RA clinic of an university hospital located in Inchon were invited to participate in the CHPPRA. According to the study results, it was shown that the CHPPRA had significant effects on the patients' health status such as pain, depression, and functional disability. Also, that the improvement of health status was achieved by a positive change in the four health promotion strategies, which consisted of goal setting, positive thinking, exercise, and knowledge about the disease. Goal setting, positive thinking, and knowledge about the disease could also affect the patients' depression. Thus it can be interpreted that the improvement of these strategies may result in a remarkable decrease of depression. In addition, alleviation of functional disability may be due to increase of exercise. However although the strategies which were directly associated with pain management were not significantly improved, pain was significantly reduced. On the other hand, the study result showed that the other health promotion strategies included in CHPPRA such as pain management, positive thinking, stress management, asking for assistance and communication were not significantly increased. although the health status such as pain, depression, and functional disability, which are final goals of the program, were significantly improved through the exposition of patients to those health promotion strategies.
AIDS is increasing by geometric progression in the world with more seriousness and HIV/AIDS is still spreading. Thus, the study enforced a self-administered survey with 526 dental hygiennics students to carry out an upright recognition and education on AIDS by grasping knowledge and attitude of dental hygienics students who will work at dental hospitals or clinics after graduating in AIDS. As the result, the study got the following conclusion. 1. 51.1% of the students got knowledge on AIDS and the majority out of them got its knowledge through school(35.2%) or mass media(10.8%). 2. The average score of dental hygienics students' knowledge in AIDS was 87.67: The first-grade students(86.00), the second-grade students(88.88) and the third-grade students(88.37) (p=0.000). 3. They had an accurate recognition about AIDS' causes, its infection ways and interceptive methods of its infection way in knowledge of AIDS(p=0.000). 4. In their attitudes for AIDS, the average score was $57.43{\pm}$: The first-grade students(56.19), the second-grade students(57.70) and the third-grade students(58.70)(p=0.001). 5. In their attitudes for AIDS, the students($4.09{\pm}0.82$ scores) responded that they would prepare for AIDS' infection of their families(p=0.004) while, on the other hand, the students($4.06{\pm}0.82$ scores) responded that they wanted to avoid PWA's dental treatment(p=0.001). Therefore, it is judged that vocational education as a specialized worker as well as AIDS education should be realized since it was appeared that they had not enough thought as a mature professional worker. 6. Dental hygienics students who would work at dental hospitals or clinics after graduating were in the environment infected in all diseases and so most of the students($4.23{\pm}0.74$) responded that AIDS education should be included in curriculum.
