  • As well as providing various APIs for the development of inference engines and storage models, Jena is widely used in the development of systems or tools related with Web ontology management. However, Jena still has several problems with regard to the development of real applications, one of the most important being that its query processing performance is unacceptable. This paper proposes a storage model to improve the query processing performance of the original Jena storage. The proposed storage model semantically classifies OWL elements, and stores an ontology in separately classified tables according to the classification. In particular, the hierarchical knowledge is managed, which can make the processing performance of inferable queries enhanced and stores information. It enhances the query processing performance by using hierarchical knowledge. For this paper an experimental evaluation was conducted, the results of which showed that the proposed storage model provides a improved performance compared with Jena.

  • Purpose: This study is to determine knowledge about early detection and risk perception of cancer according to taking cancer screening tests in the general population. Methods: The participants were 151 people aged 40 years or older. A questionnaire consisted of knowledge about early detection (warning signs, cancer screening methods, general knowledge for early detection), cancer risk perception and history of cancer screening during past 2 years. Results: The percentages of correct answers were 64.7% in knowledge about warning signs, 73.7% in knowledge of cancer screening tests and 80.1% in general knowledge for early detection. Participants had the highest knowledge about screening methods for stomach cancer and the lowest for liver and colon cancer. The level of risk perception was medium. The participants who participated in cancer screening showed lower risk perception than those who did not. There was no significant relationship between knowledge and performance of cancer screening. The primary reason for not participating in cancer screening was patient's perception of their own health. Conclusion: These results suggest that cancer risk perception can affect the performance of cancer screening and we need to study how to handle this problem. Additionally screening programs should focus on liver cancer and colon cancer.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate nursing home caregivers' safety knowledge, safety attitude and safety performance; then to analyze the relations between them, and to find the factors influencing the caregivers' safety performance. The study method was conducted by using SPSS WIN 21.0 program of 134 questionnaires surveyed in S city. A positive correlation was found with caregivers' safety knowledge and safety attitude. Additionally safety attitude has positive correlation with safety performance. No correlation was found between safety knowledge and safety performance. These influential factors explained their safety practice behavior 36.1%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to establish a policy that can form a proper safety culture in the nursing home as well as repetitive training centered on practices that can affect the safety performance of caregivers.

  • In modern dynamic management environment, there is growing recognition that? information & knowledge management systems are essential for CEO's efficient/effective decision making. As a key component to cope with this current, we suggest the management performance analysis syystem based on Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD). The system measures management performance that is considered with both VA(Value- Added), which represents stakeholder's point of view and EVA(Economic Value-Added), which represents shareholder's point of view. The relation ship between management performance and some 80 financial ratios is analyzed, and then important financial ratios are drawn out. In analyzing the relationship, we applied KDD process which includes such as multidimensional cube, OLAP(On-Line Analytic Process), data mining and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). To demonstrate the performance of the system, we conducted a case study using financial data over the 16-years from 1981 to 1996 of Korean automobile industry which is taken from database of KISF AS(Korea Investors Services Financial Analysis System).

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of characteristics of nurses on knowledge and nursing performance of evidence based hemodialysis nursing practice among hemodialysis unit nurses. Methods: The participants were 180 nurses working in hemodialysis unit for more than 6 months in 23 private and general hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggido. Data were collected from March 30th to April 15t in 2016 and were analyzed using stepwise regression analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results: Nurses' knowledge on evidence based hemodialysis nursing practice was $15.87{\pm}4.52$ out of 23 points. Type of hospitals working in and adherence to evidence based hemodialysis guidelines were significant factors to knowledge and these two factors explained 30.0%. Nurses' nursing performance on evidence-based hemodialysis nursing practice was 4.52 out of 5 points. The performace level was significantly related to total nurisng career and necessity of hemodialysis nursing education and these two factors explained 8.0%. Conclusion: A development of guideline and continuing education is necessary for improving knowledge and performance of evidence based hemodialysis nursing practice.
