Middle School Students' Knowledge State Analysis about Light

  • In this study, 15 evaluation questions about light were developed and presented to 30 middle school students, and then the theory of knowledge space was used to analyze the status of the middle school students' knowledge about light. Not only was the state of the students' knowledge about light intended to be measured by schematizing the knowledge hierarchy obtained; the data obtained were also intended to be used as basic materials to improve the teaching methods used. To achieve the purpose of this study, the evaluation results, the individual knowledge state, and the hierarchy of questions were analyzed. As a result, different knowledge structures were found in the individuals and groups, and it was determined that individuals and groups should be diagnosed differently. In addition, the implication that there is a connection between each question and the individual knowledge state was drawn.

  • As object models and hybrid knowledge are increasingly used in current information systems development, Is-a structures need to be more formally defined, and subsequently subsumption related anomalies need to be detected with minimal declaration of meta knowledge. This paper extends a metagraph in the hybrid environments and demonstrates its utilities for detecting such anomalies that can occur from semantics and dynamics unique to the hybrid knowledge and data structure.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate teachers'conceptions of mathematics through the conception on compositions of mathematical knowledge, the conception on structure of mathematical knowledge, the conception on status of mathematical knowledge, the conception on mathematical activity, and the conception of mathematics learning. This study reached the following conclusions: Most of teachers has more internal viewpoint than external viewpoint on the compositions, structures and status of mathematical knowledge, mathematical activity and mathematics learning.

온톨로지 구조로 표현된 FRSAD 모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ontology Architecture for FRSAD Model)

  • FRSAD과 온톨로지 모형간의 연계는 어떠한 정보구현시스템이나 특정 상황에서도 독립적인 상위 계층의 지식구조를 제안하고, 의미 연결, 지식구조, 주제접근, 상호운용성 등을 확보하기 위한 노력이다. FRSAD 모형을 현실적인 정보환경에 적용하고, 도서관 안팎 어디서나 자유롭게 정보를 확인하고 공유하기 위해서는 지식표현 인코딩 체계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 웹 온톨로지 언어인 OWL를 사용하여 FRSAD 모형을 온톨로지 구조로 표현하였으며, 이를 확인하기 위해 Prot$\acute{e}$g$\acute{e}$를 사용하여 FRSAD 온톨로지 모형을 시범적으로 구축하였다.

패션디자이너 직무수행을 위해 필요한 지식수준에 관한 연구 - 한국과 미국을 중심으로 - (The Level of Knowledge Required to Fulfill the Task of Fashion Design -A Cross-cultural Study between South Korea and the United States -)

  • Employees overseas have a need to prepare according to the different environments and industrial structures between countries. Therefore, to investigate qualities for fashion designers to possess when they work abroad, especially in the United States, this study compared the level of knowledge required to fulfill the work of fashion design in both South Korea and the United States. Responses from workers who are engaged to fashion design from the representative online career information systems of two countries, 'Worknet' in South Korea and '$O^*Net$' in the United States, were used as data. Looking at the result derived from the analysis of this study, first by comparing various statistical indicators, results showed the difference between knowledge level required to fashion designer in South Korea and in the United States. Even with the same type of job, because environments and industrial structures of each country are dissimilar, a different level of knowledge will be required in order to perform their tasks. Second, fashion designers in both South Korea and the United States required a high level of knowledge in the 'fine arts', 'administration and management', 'production and processing', and 'design' to perform their duties as a fashion designer. As a result, both countries have similarities that fashion designers need to possess a high level of the knowledge in areas such as 'production of products' as well as 'sales of products'. Furthermore, human relationship field of knowledge such as 'counseling', 'psychology', and 'communication' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in South Korea than those in the United States. On the other hand, higher degree of knowledge of 'machines and tools', ' fine arts', and 'transportation' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in the United States than those in South Korea.

Individual, social, and cultural approaches to knowledge sharing

  • Workplace knowledge sharing is a complex process and there are a large number of studies in the area. In this article three theoretical approaches in library and information science are used to discuss knowledge sharing in the workplace. The approaches are information behavior, social capital, and information culture, and they bring important insights that need to be considered from a holistic management point of view when it comes to knowledge sharing. The individual's relation to different levels of context is important, meaning both in relation to work roles, work tasks, situations, organizational structures, and culture. The frameworks also shed light on where and how knowledge sharing activities are present in the organization. From a knowledge management point of view, it is important to acknowledge that when knowledge is valued, there is also an awareness of the knowledge sharing activities. Also, in addition to more traditional views of context, the frameworks bring forward different views on context, such as time and space as contextual factors.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine influential factors in knowledge-sharing and to analyze how these factors influence the performances of knowledge management (KM) in public enterprises. Influencing factors of KM in this study include evaluation-compensation, knowledge management system, learning culture, and organizational structures. As a result, analysis turned out to be the KM system and organizational structure directly effects knowledge-sharing and KM performances. And knowledge-sharing performed as mediating effect between independent variables such as compensation system and organization structure, and dependent variable like KM performance. Therefore, this study concludes that each factor of evaluation-compensation system and learning culture has directly influenced to knowledge-sharing, yet KM performances have Indirectly influenced.

지능형 가상인간의 공간적 행동을 모사하기 위한 지식구조 (Knowledge Structures to Simulate the Spatial Behavior of Intelligent Virtual Humans)

  • 가상세계 기반 몰입형 가정교사 시스템을 개발하기 위해 상황의 다양성과 사실성을 최대화하기 위한 공간적 측면에서의 시뮬레이션을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해서는 가상공간의 모델링과 함께 가상인간들의 지식 및 지능적 사유기능이 필요하다. 먼저 공간의 계층적이고 다면적인 구성과 그에 상응하는 가상인간들의 지식을 모사하기 위한 정보구조가 필요하다. 구체적으로 2.5차원 공간분포표현, 복잡한 공간관계표현, 객체표현, 사건들의 시공간적 표현을 위한 네 개의 구조를 각각 개발한다. 그리고 이와 같이 표현된 지식을 사용하여 공간적인 이동을 하는데 필요한 가상인간의 공간적 사유 기능을 개발한다. 일반적으로 사건은 힘을 매개로 인접하거나 연결된 다른 객체들에게도 연쇄적으로 영향을 미쳐서 다양한 상황들이 펼쳐지며 관련된 가상인간들이 다음 행동을 계획하는 데에 반영된다. 이를 위해 시공간 표현구조 상에 역사적 흐름에 따라 사건들의 전개를 기록한다. 전형적 사건을 구현하여 가상인간의 복잡한 공간속에서의 자주적 행동의 실현가능성을 보여준다.

Generative Artificial Intelligence for Structural Design of Tall Buildings

  • The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) design for tall building structures is an essential solution for addressing critical challenges in the current structural design industry. Generative AI technology is a crucial technical aid because it can acquire knowledge of design principles from multiple sources, such as architectural and structural design data, empirical knowledge, and mechanical principles. This paper presents a set of AI design techniques for building structures based on two types of generative AI: generative adversarial networks and graph neural networks. Specifically, these techniques effectively master the design of vertical and horizontal component layouts as well as the cross-sectional size of components in reinforced concrete shear walls and frame structures of tall buildings. Consequently, these approaches enable the development of high-quality and high-efficiency AI designs for building structures.

Development of High-Performance FEM Modeling System Based on Fuzzy Knowledge Processing

  • This paper describes an automatic finite element (FE) mesh generation for three-dimensional structures consisting of tree-form surfaces. This mesh generation process consists of three subprocesses: (a) definition of geometric model, (b) generation of nodes, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional solid structures. Node is generated if its distance from existing node points is similar to the node spacing function at the point. The node spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Voronoi diagram method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Automatic generation of FE meshes for three-dimensional solid structures holds great benefits for analyses. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for three-dimensional complex geometry.
