Many students with disabilities at the university face difficulties in educational inequity, cultural isolation, information illiteracy, and discrimination in the broad range of campus activities. The biggest barrier is the lack or difficulty of access to knowledge and information needed for learning. Libraries, therefore, must not discriminate against students with disabilities and should ensure equal access to and use of information resources and services. This paper analyzed the satisfaction and requirements on facility and space services, direct and indirect services, total library service of students with disabilities based on the results of the survey and interview. This paper suggested ways to improve service satisfaction of students with disabilities in a university library.

In the era of the forth Industrial Revolution, open source code and open source hardware have gained much attention. In particular, 3D printing technology is expanding into the realms of classical science, technology and our daily lives. Relatedly, in the present study, we demonstrate the manufacture of a nano-LC MALDI spotter robot using 3D printing technology. The parts of the spotter robot were either made using a 3D printer or purchased as 3D printer parts from the 3D printer online market, so that anyone can make the robot without a deep knowledge of engineering or electronics, i.e., DIY (do-it-yourself) product. In the nano-LC MALDI spotter, the nano-LC eluent and MALDI matrix were mixed in a T-union and discharged from the capillary outlet. The eluent and matrix mixture could be spotted onto the movable MALDI plate. The MALDI plate was designed to translate in a two-dimensional space (xy plane), which was enabled by the movements of two stepper motors. In the paper, all computer-aided design (CAD) files for the parts and operation software are provided to help the reader manufacture their own spotter robot.

Korea is utilizing geothermal resources mainly in the bathing and swimming facilities with very few applications for industrial processes or space heating. It is estimated that geothermal capacity and annual utilization are 36.2MWt and 761TJ/year as compared to global capacity and annual utilization of 15,145MWt and 190,699 TJ/year. RETScreen software is a user's friendly tool for analyzing the technical and financial pre-feasibility of potential Renewable Energy (RE) projects that promotes the use of RE applications through the capacity building of planners, decision-makers and industries for successful implementation of RE projects. Strong ties between Canada and Korean organizations such as Korean Solar Energy Society (KSES) and the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) exist for knowledge transfer about RETScreen. In this paper, an overview of RETScreen and its ground source heat pump (GSHP) model with a practical example of an existing project of a community hall in Canada are described to illustrate effectiveness of RETScreenin the implementation of RE technologies. The same community hall project is then evaluated hypothetically considering its location at Kangnyng, Korea. The main objective is to demonstrate how RETScreen GSHP model can also be utilized effectively for GSHP applications in Korea.

The essential identity of public library is a local knowledge and information center that guarantees access and use of present generation and descendant. However recently the public library is being called with core space for lifelong learning, hub of cultural activities, information gateway, community center, local public goods, information commons, democracy cradle, the second living room, etc. The spectrum for the identity of the public library in Korea is not only very wide, but also is confused. The researcher who paid attention to such a reality analyzed laws and regulations, local administrative organizations, national and official statistics related public library, and suggested evidences of the identity confusion. Based on this result, researcher proposed the principles and plans to get over the identity confusion of the public library.

Recently, with rapid advances of mobile devices such as smart phone and wireless networking, a number of services using mobile device based wireless network have been explosively increasing. From the viewpoint of security, because wireless network is more vulnerable than wired network, strong security is required in wireless network. On the contrary, the security for mobile devices has to be efficient due to the restrictions of battery powered mobile device such as low computation, low memory space and high communication cost. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient authentication scheme with mobile devices in wireless network environment. The proposed scheme satisfies security requirements for the service using mobile device and it is suitable in wireless network environment.

The present paper highlights some important fragmentation issues experienced in the limestone quarry blast rounds. In light of these major issues, the paper outlines influence of a few important design parameters, which bear merit to alter the blast performance in order to duly resolve the issues in field scale blast rounds. A comprehensive field based program for evaluation of such blast rounds has also been suggested. The knowledge disseminated in the paper, backed up by sufficient images, is largely based on the experience of the authors, while designing, implementing and evaluating numerous field scale blast rounds in cement grade limestone quarries.

Traditional criteria for optimum experimental designs depend on the specifications of the model; however, there will be a dilemma when we do not have perfect knowledge about the model. Box and Draper (1959) suggested one direction to minimize bias that may occur in this situation. We will demonstrate some examples with exact solutions that provide a no-bias design for polynomial regression. The most interesting finding is that a design that requires less bias should allocate design points away from the border of the design space.

The curriculum analysis of lighting design course in the Interior architecture departments in American universities reveals they share a major concern in the basic lighting theories, the sorts of light source and lighting equipment, daylighting, and interior lighting plav. The curriculum is usually composed of two semesters, the first semester being about lighting theory and simple project, while the second one abut more professional fields of design studio. The curriculum of lighting design at the Interior architecture departments in Korean colleges and universities usually consists of introductory courses in the field. Almost every institution allocated only one semester for the courses, and as the courses should cover the broad range within a short time, they were lacked in the required depth and systematic approach. The analysis also reveals the curriculum in Korea puts emphasis on the interior lighting equipment design, while disregarding the importance of daylighting. In comparison, American institutions have their curriculum focused upon the use of daylighting. The curriculum of lighting design courses in Korea, a major part of space rendering methods in the field of Interior Architecture, should be improved without delay. The courses should be included in the required subjects and the educational aims should be changed from offering a general understanding of the concepts to providing professional knowledge and skills, which would contribute to the competitiveness of the departments.

The library means to children a place where they find information necessary for them among a variety of knowledge and information to address their intellectual curiosity, which makes their lives wise and mature. There are not enough research materials understanding children's cognitive systems and behaviors in studies of a children's library with this necessity. This study divided and analyzed the behaviors of children, who were users into three types of reading in terms of information processing. First, it observed the types of reading depending on the stage of their cognitive development; Second, it analyzed the patterns of their behaviors through plays; and lastly, it presented the phases of their behaviors depending on the degree of an assistant's intervention. As a result of the study, the sensory system used and the space preferred differed depending on the stage of their cognition; there were differences in the patterns of their behaviors in each age group depending on the type of play; and there were differences in the children's ability of information processing depending on the assistant's ability. It is anticipated that there will be improvements of children's reading ability at the reading room in a better environment if the three types are considered in terms of information processing.

The goal of this study is to suggest the policy orientations of national library collaboration based on the analysis of three types of resource such as information, human, and space. For this research purpose, this study carried out the analyses of foreign cases, the related laws and national policy, case review of various cooperation by library types and resources. In the end, the three policy orientations are proposed for development of national library: sharing public values, securing specialized contents, and having leadership in the global network.
