Design and Development of a Web Based Digital Repository for Scholarly Communication: A Case of NM-AIST Tanzania

  • Institutional repositories are essential research infrastructures for research-based universities. A properly dimensioned institutional repository has the potential to increase research impact and enhance the visibility of an institution through its scholarly outputs. The aim of the study reported in this paper was to design and develop a web-based digital repository for scholarly communications using NM-AIST as a case study. The system was developed using open source software. Findings obtained from system validation tests show that the system is a viable solution to the major challenges encountered in the management and sharing of scholarly information at the institution.

  • 본 논문에서는 효과적인 정보 공유 및 협업을 지원하는 SNS-웹 플랫폼 기반의 영상세미나 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 제안하는 영상세미나 시스템은 크게 세 가지 특징을 갖는다. 첫째, 구현된 시스템은 자바 웹 스타트를 기반으로 개발되었기 때문에, 사용자는 특정 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어의 설치 없이 웹 기반의 영상세미나에 참여할 수 있다. 둘째, 구현된 시스템은 다양한 운영체제 및 인터넷 웹 브라우저에서 동작이 가능하다. 셋째, 구현된 시스템은 SNS-웹 플랫폼 기반으로 동작하기 때문에, SNS 상에서 연결되어 있는 전문가들 간의 전문지식 공유 및 협업을 지원 가능하다. 마지막으로, 성능분석을 통해 구현된 시스템이 평균 지연 시간 측면에서 효율적임을 보인다.

지식경영을 활용한 기업인수 후 합병후 통합(PMI) : 한일은행과 상업은행의 합병 사례를 중심으로 (PMI Using Knowledge Management Viewed from Merger of Hanil Bank and Commercial Bank of Korea)

  • The purpose of this study lies in examining how knowledge management was applied to PMI(Post Merger Integration) in bank merger. Individuals and organizations in Korea have experienced a lot of changes since the 1997 foreign exchange crisis. In such a situation, individuals came to think the only thing to rely on was personal knowledge. Since organizations had to lay off workers in order of their birth year, not based on whether or not individuals had the knowledge necessary for the organizations, they needed to have such a system that could use their explicit knowledge and even outside knowledge or customers' knowledge as IT developed by changing individuals' tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge as needed in order to continue to maintain their competitiveness and for their own development. Thus, each firm started to pitch for the introduction of knowledge management. Individuals started to store their own experience and knowledge in their homepages or blogs. It was Woori Bank, the merged bank of Hanil Bank and Commercial Bank of Korea, that introduced the knowledge management system and Shared Service Center, in which knowledge creation is available, for the first time in the banking business. Its previous name was Hanbit Bank. Hanbit Bank wanted to construct an advanced bank system, bringing in their chief information officer(CIO) from a foreign bank and introducing an IT software used in Spanish banks to adjust all banking processes to it. However, they could not help giving up the plan in the middle of the road since there was a great difference between Spain and Korea in the financial system and more than 30% of software package had to be changed. In this situation, PMI was delayed, and customer inconvenience continued, which made the integration of organizational cultures slow down. As a breakthrough in this situation, knowledge management was introduced. To integrate knowledge of two organizations in the process of PMI is an important job for all merger candidates. This study aims at presenting the successful results from using knowledge management as a means to PMI ahead of other financial institutions so they can apply them to their organizations. PMI was not achieved properly after the two banks had been merged as Hanbit, but entering the era of Woori Bank, workers were integrated under one standard organization following the organizational and knowledge integration, and knowledge management was introduced for an efficient sharing of knowledge among members. A great number of mergers have occurred up to now, but Woori Bank is the first case that used knowledge management as a means to both PMI and competitiveness enhancement. Probably it was an appropriate time when Woori Bank introduced knowledge management as it was organized. Since Hanil Bank and Commercial Bank of Korea had not introduced knowledge management until then, it could use knowledge management as a means to PMI. Using knowledge management, it could create a new organizational culture and increase competitiveness in the banking industry.

A Study on the Factors Influencing the Satisfaction of Online Service System on the International Research Cooperation

  • Recently, as the pandemic COVID-19 has been spread worldwide, international research cooperation has come to the fore to overcome the crisis and develop treatments. Currently, in Korea, with the support from the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation, the International Research Cooperation Information Center operates an online service system for international research cooperation as a venue for sharing results among international research cooperation researchers and invigorating such research. However, since Korea's performance in international research cooperation is still poor, actively pursuing measures to improve professionalism and diversity based on international cooperation is deemed necessary. Therefore, in this study, factors influencing the level of satisfaction with international research cooperation online service systems were identified, and measures to increase the satisfaction of international research cooperation online service were proposed based on the analysis results. Design of the system quality factors, accuracy and consistency of the information quality factors, and professionalism of the service quality factors were verified to have a significant effect on the satisfaction with international research cooperation online service systems. Accordingly, further strengthening the aspects of design, accuracy, consistency, and professionalism was proposed as a way to increase the satisfaction of international research cooperation online service systems.

An Integrated Diagnostic System Based on the Cooperative Problem Solving of Multi-Agents: Design and Implementation

  • Enhanced methodologies for process diagnosis and abnormal situation management have been developed for the last two decades. However, there is no single method that always shows better performance over all kinds of diagnostic problems. In this paper, a framework of message-passing, cooperative, intelligent diagnostic agents is presented for improved on-line fault diagnosis through cooperative problem solving of different expertise. A group of diagnostic agents in charge of different process functional perform local diagnoses in parallel; exchange related information with other diagnostic agents; and cooperatively solve the global diagnostic problem of the whole process plant or business units just like human experts would do. For their better understanding, sharing and exchanging of process knowledge and information, we also suggest a way of remodeling processes and protocols, taking into account semantic abstracts of process information and data. The benefits of the suggested multi-agents-based approach are demonstrated by the implementations for solving the diagnostic problems of various chemical processes.

지식창출형 e-PBL 지원시스템의 개념적 모형 구안 - 해군 e-PBL지원시스템을 중심으로 - (Designing a Conceptual Model of Knowledge Creation Type e-PBL Support System - Focused on Naval e-PBL Support System -)

  • 지식의 중요성이 강조되고, 전장환경이 변화함에 따라 군대에서도 창의력, 협동력, 의사소통 능력을 갖춘 인재상이 요구되고 있어 해군 교육에서도 PBL의 적용이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 지식창출을 위한 해군 e-PBL 지원시스템을 구현하기 위한 프로토타입을 개발하기 위해 크게 3단계를 거친다. 첫째, PBL, e-PBL, 지식창출, 지식생태계 등을 키워드로 하여 한국교육학술정보원, 국회도서관, 등에서 검색하였다. 내용 전문가들로부터 본 연구와 직접적으로 관련 있는 국내 외 논문 및 단행본, 연구보고서 등을 추천받아 본 연구와 관련해서 인용도가 높은 문헌과 최근 연구를 수행한 문헌들을 중심으로 선정 분석하여 지식창출형 e-PBL지원시스템의 핵심가치와 설계전략을 도출하였다. 둘째, 분석 내용을 토대로 1차 프로토타입을 개발하여 교수설계 전문가들의 검토를 받아 수정함으로써 지식창출형 해군 e-PBL 지원시스템의 최종 프로토타입을 제안하였으며, 이는 다음과 같은 가치를 가진다. 첫째, 지식창출형 해군 e-PBL지원시스템은 학습자들에게 e-PBL을 적용할 기회를 제공함으로써, 창의력, 협동력, 의사소통 능력 향상과 업무 노하우를 축적 할 수 있다. 둘째, 개인간 또는 집단간 지식 공유를 통해 지식이 선순환됨으로써 업무능률을 향상시키고, 학습하는 조직문화를 조성하는 시너지 효과를 볼 것으로 기대한다. 셋째, 지식창출형 해군 e-PBL지원시스템은 해군 뿐만 아니라 학교교육에 PBL을 적용하고 있는 교수자들에게 지식 Base를 구축하는 PBL적용의 새로운 가치를 가지게 한다.

Exploring the Determinants of MOOCs continuance intention

  • In our current information-based society in which knowledge is a fundamental asset to production, the capability to utilize information and produce knowledge with the use of information technology (IT) has become essential to learning. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have recently been introduced in light of such changes and are recognized as an alternative to open education. MOOCs' capabilities are being acknowledged in lifelong education in terms of reeducation and knowledge sharing, and also in terms of improving teaching quality, and improving university students' levels of creativity and integrated thinking by supporting high-level content and teaching. Therefore, this study presents an extended research model that combines information system (IS) continuance and task-technology fit models. Our study researches previous literature, revealing factors of continuous use after accepting MOOCs from the learner's perspective, and analyzes the model empirically. The ideal environment for MOOCs learners is evaluated, and a strategic approach to the successful settlement and diffusion of MOOCs is presented based on this study's findings.

Context Aware System based on Bayesian Network driven Context Reasoning and Ontology Context Modeling

  • Uncertainty of result of context awareness always exists in any context-awareness computing. This falling-off in accuracy of context awareness result is mostly caused by the imperfectness and incompleteness of sensed data, because of this reasons, we must improve the accuracy of context awareness. In this article, we propose a novel approach to model the uncertain context by using ontology and context reasoning method based on Bayesian Network. Our context aware processing is divided into two parts; context modeling and context reasoning. The context modeling is based on ontology for facilitating knowledge reuse and sharing. The ontology facilitates the share and reuse of information over similar domains of not only the logical knowledge but also the uncertain knowledge. Also the ontology can be used to structure learning for Bayesian network. The context reasoning is based on Bayesian Networks for probabilistic inference to solve the uncertain reasoning in context-aware processing problem in a flexible and adaptive situation.

웹2.0 기반의 온라인 로봇 프로그래밍 교육시스템 개발 (Development of an online robot programming education system based on Web 2.0)

  • 정보화 시대의 개인의 개성과 창의력은 지식산업에 요구되는 시대적 요청이다. 로봇 프로그래밍 교육이 학습자의 창의성 신장의 측면에 있어 의미 있는 효과가 있는 것으로 알려지고 있다. 기존의 로봇프로그래밍 도구들은 텍스트 기반 혹은 GUI 기반 저작도구기능을 가지고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 프로그래밍 도구들은 상호작용기능이 없는 단순한 튜토리얼을 제공하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 웹 2.0의 상호작용 기술을 응용하여, 협력 코드 생성이 가능한 로봇 프로그래밍 교육 시스템을 연구하였다. 시스템이 제공하는 협력코드 생성기능을 통해 학습자들은 협력하여 로봇 프로그래밍을 생성하는 경험을 할 수 있다. 또한 학습자들은 지식공유 기능을 활용하여 효과적인 프로그램 디자인의 경험과 소스코드의 공유가 가능하다.

ICT 기업의 영업조직에서 지식경영 활동이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on the Impact of Knowledge Management Activities on Business Performance in the Sales Organization of ICT Companies)

  • Maintaining the permanence of a company in the current rapidly changing business environment is not an easy task. Rather, the lifespan of a company can be said to be gradually decreasing. As such, the author of this paper, which describes the current market environment, is the sales organization of a large company. While leading the company, I thought about how to overcome the rapidly changing market and create an organization that continues to grow. As a result, I succeeded in creating an organization that continued to grow over the past two years, and the main activity of this result was the use of sales computer. It was clear that it was an information sharing activity. This can be said to be a result of proving that a series of activities to create and share information is important for the sales organization of ICT companies to actively respond to the rapidly changing market environment. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the relationship between knowledge management and business performance in the sales field of ICT companies, which has not been covered so far. Knowledge management is a four-stage activity from a process perspective, divided into knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization. did. As a result of the study, first, knowledge management activities, such as knowledge creation and knowledge storage, were found to have a significant impact on financial performance. Second, knowledge management activities such as knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization were all found to have an impact on non-financial performance. In the end, this study confirmed that efforts to turn tacit knowledge into knowledge in order to respond to the ever-changing ICT market are ultimately an important factor in growing a company.
