This study suggests the dynamic value chain model, that will be able to not only show changing processes to organization's significant capital by integrating an individual, implicit, and explicit knowledge which affect organizational decision making, but also distinguish the key driver for raising organizational competitive power because it makes possible to analyze sensitivity of performance along with decision making alternatives and policy changes from dynamic view by connecting knowledge management capability, knowledge management activity, and relations with organizational performance with specific strategic map. Recently, a lot of organizations show interest in measuring and evaluating their performance synthetically. In organizations taking knowledge management, they introduce effective value chain model like a dynamic balanced scorecard (DBSC), and therefore they can reflect their knowledge management condition as well as show their changes by checking performance of established vision and strategy periodically. Furthermore, they can ask for their inner members' understanding and participation by communicating with and inspiring their members with awareness that members are one of their group, present a base of benchmarking, and offer significant information for later decision making. The BSC has been a successful framework for measuring an organization's performance in various perspectives through translating an organization's vision and strategy into an interrelated set of key performance indicators and specific actions. The BSC, while having significant strengths over traditional performance measurement methods, however, has its own limitations, due to its static nature, such as overlooking two-way causation between performance indicators and neglecting the impact of delayed feedback flowing from the adoption of new strategies or policy changes. To overcome these limitations, this study employs SD, a methodology for understanding complex systems where dynamic feedback among the interrelated system components significantly impact on the system outcomes. The SD simulation model in the form of DBSC would serve as a useful strategic teaming tool for facilitating an organization's communication process through various scenario analyses as well as predicting the dynamic behavior pattern of their key performance measures over a future time frame. For the demonstration purpose, this study applied the DBSC model to Prototype of Korea manufacturing and service firm.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationships among patient safety culture, safety competence and safety nursing activity among nurses in anesthetic and recovery rooms, and to identify the factors contributing to safety nursing activity. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. Participants were 156 nurses from 13 hospitals. Data were collected from February 11 to March 15th, 2019, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis with SPSS statistics 24.0 Program. Results: Safety nursing activity was significantly different in relation to nurses' level of education, position at work, clinical career, clinical career at anesthetic and recovery rooms, and work experience in patient safety. Safety nursing activity demonstrated a significant positive correlation with patient safety culture and patient safety competence. Factors contributing to safety nursing activity were patient safety knowledge, skill and attitude, clinical career, clinical career at anesthetic and recovery rooms, and the patient safety improvement system which explained 57.0% of total variance of safety nursing activity. Conclusion: To improve safety nursing activities at anesthetic and recovery rooms, it is necessary to develop patient safety programs with enhanced knowledge, skill and attitude to take patient safety as a top priority.
This study examines whether employees' legitimacy perceptions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) affect their organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). It also investigates whether CEO's visionary leadership can moderate this causal relationship. CSR legitimacy is defined in the current study as employees' personal beliefs about the appropriateness of corporate CSR activities. In fact, employees evaluate the appropriateness of CSR activity based on its consistency with corporate philosophy (e.g. corporate mission, vision, and values) which functions as employees' referencial belief structure. If CSR activity is perceived as one of firm's effort to fulfill its mission, vision, and values, which means that espoused theory and theory-in-use of CSR activity are congruent, employees will consider firm's CSR activity as legitimate. If, however, employees think that CSR activity is not congruent with firm's mission, vision, and values, which means that espoused theory and theory-in-use of CSR activity are inconsistent, they will perceive that CSR activity of their firm is not legitimate. In the current study, we propose that employees who perceive that the CSR activity of their firm is legitimate are more likely to engage in OCB. In addition, we hypothesize that CEO's visionary leadership can strengthen the positive effect of employees' perception of CSR legitimacy on their OCB. We tested these hypotheses with the sample of 383 employees from 32 companies listed on DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Index) Korea 2009. We employed the HLM (hierarchical linear modeling) program to decompose the multi-level random effects. We found that CSR legitimacy perceptions of employees increase employees' OCB and that CEO's visionary leadership moderates this relationship. We discussed implications of these findings in more detail.
This study analyzed the effects of learning participation motivation and collaborative self-efficacy on knowledge sharing behavior in an online learning environment. Collaborative learning in the online learning environment took the initiative in team formation, learning topic selection, learning planning and execution, and reflection. Collaborative learning was operated as an extracurricular program, and a survey was conducted targeting students who finally completed all learning activities. The results of the study are as follows. First, goal-oriented motivation and self-Efficacy for group work, showed significant influence on knowledge sharing behavior. Second, activity-oriented motivation did not show a statistically significant effect relationship. Interpreting the analysis results, it can be judged that the higher the goal-oriented motivation and self-Efficacy for group work of students who performed collaborative learning in an online learning environment, the higher the willingness to share knowledge, skills, and information they know. This study explored the outcomes of collaborative learning conducted in an online learning environment. It is meaningful that the learner's learning participation motivation was identified and the effect of self-Efficacy for group work, which can be expressed in collaborative learning situations, on knowledge sharing behavior, which is a necessary behavior for group performance, is significant.
This study examined musical concepts of early childhood teachers with the 'Sing-a-New-Song' activity and problems teachers face in the application of musical concepts. Participants were 10 kindergarten teachers; data were collected through lesson plans, videos of classes, and interviews with teachers. Results showed that (1) selection of songs focused on words of a song rather than musical concepts; ignoring development of the musical level of the children. (2) Goal-setting ignored musical concepts. (3) Class management confused musical concepts with other concepts. (4) No evaluation of musical concepts was undertaken. Problems included teachers' lack of knowledge of musical development in young children, insufficient understanding and limited application of musical concepts, and low expectations regarding music as a subject of instruction.
This study empirically examines the correlation between the data, system, service quality, collective intelligence, innovation activity, and work performance of the KMS for employees of state-run enterprises. This study also confirmed that collective intelligence and innovation activity have a mediating effect on the relationship between KMS system quality and work performance. For this study, employees of state-run enterprises completed a 5-point Likert scale survey, and the data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The reliability and validity of variables were also verified through a measurement model analysis. Structural equation modeling of IBM SPSS 26 and AMOS 26 were used to prove the hypothesis. Through this study, For the improvement of sustainable work performance of state-run enterprises, which is a difficult issue to solve, not only should the quality of the KMS utilized in the enterprises be improved and managed, but also the design for various incentive schemes tailored to the enterprises' job characteristics, such as rewards, HR bonus, work incentives, job allowance, and encouragement from the head of the enterprise, should be reviewed and continuously developed in reflection of the active collective intelligence of the employees and the effect of innovation activities. Then, the work performance of public institutions will increase.
Although a wide range of theoretical researches have emphasized on the importance of knowledge management in cooperative R&D network, the empirical researches to synthetically examine the role of organizational learning and open innovation which influence on the performance of technological innovation are not enough to meet academic and practical demands. This study is to investigate the effect of open innovation and organizational learning in venture business on technological competitive advantage and establish the mediating role of organizational learning. For the purpose, the questionnaires, made based on the reviewing previous researches, were collected from 274 Korean venture businesses whose managerial focus is on developing technological innovation. As a result of analysis, the relational dimensions of open innovation - network, intensity and trust shared by a firm with external R&D partners - as well as the internal organizational learning system and competence have positive influence on building technological competitive advantage whose sub-variables are technological excellence, market growth potential and business feasibility. In addition, it is identified that organizational learning has the mediating and moderating effect in the relationship between open innovation and technological competitive advantage. These results imply that open innovation complements and expend the range of limited resources and the scope of innovation in technology-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises. Besides, organizational learning activity reinforces the use of knowledge and resources, obtained from external R&D partners. On the basis of these results, detailed issues and discussion were made in the conclusion.
Learning community is one of the important pillars of the education in knowledge-based society. How to encourage students' spontaneous participation to the learning community is one of the actual problems to solve for the revolution of the education scheme. In this paper we introduce a strategy to boost the activity of the learning community, which works in the on-line space. The keys for the on-line supporting system for the learning community are to have communication space, trading space and connection with industry. To support activities of each space, we provide an on-line web site which includes a community module, a knowledge market module and an industrial commentary module. Students can start their self-leading study in the communication space, and they can also practice skills for the knowledge management in the knowledge trading space. Through the connection space, they can learn more from the real world critics with help of industry.
This study analysed the result of a survey answered by 120 technology teachers and 360 students from 357 middle schools in Seoul to find out the actual state of safety accidents during technology education activity course in the middle school class and safety awareness of the teachers and students. The result shows that many safety accidents happen during technology education activity course in the middle school class. However, most teachers and students have experienced safety accidents or dangerous situations more than once a year. Technology teachers had very low awareness on the states of retaining safety equipments. On the other hand, they were well aware of the importance of safety, including the actual states of safety education, knowledge of safety, and the will to join safety education. Therefore, safety awareness of technology teachers should be reinforced by the extension of safety training and the improvement of safe environments.
