Recently, the advanced company has been sparing no efforts in improving necessary core knowledge and technology to achieve outstanding work performance. In this rapidly changing knowledge-based society, the company has confronted the task of creating a high value-added knowledge. The role of R&D workforce that corresponds to the characteristic and role of knowledge worker is getting more significant. As the life cycle of technical knowledge and skill shortens, in every industry, the technical knowledge and skill have become essential elements for successful business. It is difficult to improve competitiveness of the company without enhancing the competency of individual and organization. As the competency development which is a part of human resource management in the company is being spread now, it is required to focus on the research of determining necessary competency and to analyze the competency of a core organization in the research institute. 'H' is the semiconductor manufacturing company which has a affiliated research institute with its own R&D engineers. Based on focus group interview and job analysis data, vision and necessary competency were confirmed. And to confirm whether the required competency by job is different or not, analysis was performed by dividing members into workers who are in charge of circuit design and design before process development and who are in the process actualization and process development. Also, this research included members' importance awareness of the determined competency. The interview and job analysis were integrated and analyzed after arranging by groups and contents and the analyzed results were resorted after comparative analysis with a competency dictionary of Spencer & Spencer and competency models which are developed from the advanced research. Derived main competencies are: challenge, responsibility, and prediction/responsiveness, planning a new business, achievement -oriented, training, cooperation, self-development, analytic thinking, scheduling, motivation, communication, commercialization of technology, information gathering, professionalism on the job, and professionalism outside of work. The highly required competency for both jobs was 'Professionalism'. 'Attitude', 'Performance Management', 'Teamwork' for workers in charge of circuit design and 'Challenge', 'Training', 'Professionalism on the job' and 'Communication' were recognized to be required competency for those who are in charge of process actualization and process development. With above results, this research has determined the necessary competency that the 'H' company's affiliated research institute needs and found the difference of required competency by job. Also, it has suggested more enthusiastic education methods or various kinds of education by confirming the importance awareness of competency and individual's level of awareness about the competency.
Process mining in big data environment utilize a number of data were generated from the business process. It generates lots of knowledge and insights regarding implementation and improvement of the process through the event log of the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In recent years, various research activities engaged with the audit work of company organizations are trying actively by using the maximum strength of the mining process. However, domestic studies on applicable sales auditing system for the process mining are insufficient under big data environment. Therefore, we propose process-mining methods that can be optimally applied to online and traditional auditing system. In advance, we propose continuous monitoring information system that can early detect and prevent the risk under the big data environment by monitoring risk factors in the organizations of enterprise. The scope of the research of this paper is to design a pre-verification system for risk factor via practical examples in sales auditing. Furthermore, realizations of preventive audit, continuous monitoring for high risk, reduction of fraud, and timely action for violation of rules are enhanced by proposed sales auditing system. According to the simulation results, avoidance of financial risks, reduction of audit period, and improvement of audit quality are represented.
The software industry is a high value-added industry in the knowledge information age, and its importance is growing as it not only plays a key role in knowledge creation and utilization, but also secures global competitiveness. Among various SW available in today's business environment, Open Source Software(OSS) is rapidly expanding its activity area by not only leading software development, but also integrating with new information technology. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to empirically examine and analyze the effect of factors on the switching behavior to OSS. To accomplish the study's purpose, we suggest the research model based on "Push-Pull-Mooring" framework. This study empirically examines the two categories of antecedents for switching behavior toward OSS. The survey was conducted to employees at various firms that already switched OSS. A total of 268 responses were collected and analyzed by using the structural equational modeling. The results of this study are as follows; first, continuous maintenance cost, vender dependency, functional indifference, and SW resource inefficiency are significantly related to switch to OSS. Second, network-oriented support, testability and strategic flexibility are significantly related to switch to OSS. Finally, the results show that willingness to secures SW competitiveness has a moderating effect on the relationships between push factors and pull factor with exception of improved knowledge, and switch to OSS. The results of this study will contribute to fields related to OSS both theoretically and practically.
Game industry, one of cultural-content industry which is considered as a typical knowledge-based industry and creative industry, is not like the overseas expansion of traditional manufacture, and has different strategy and performance of export expansion through product or project-based strategy. Therefore, it should be approached by each content unit, and necessary to look at the factors that make their decision makings of foreign market entry vary. This study focuses on discovering creativity, absorptive capacity and strategic orientation(market orientation and innovation orientation) which affect the difference of distribution's decision making of entry into foreign market in game industry This paper examined 252 cases of online games in order to investigate creativity, absorptive capacity and strategic orientations for each foreign market and what entry type(among licensing, joint distribution, exclusive distribution) they chose according to the products developed in team level. This helps us analyze the factors affecting market orientation and innovation orientation in the perspectives of creativity and absorptive capacity in comprehensive way, and notice the phenomena which use different foreign distribution strategy though there are company incorporated abroad and their results. This study supplements the limit of the existing Resource-Based View, Resource-Dependent View, and traditional international business theories such as Transaction Cost Theory or OLI Paradigm(Eclectic Framework), and proves how company could reduce asymmetry of uncertainty and information in creative industry and whether they accomplish successful overseas expansion according to strategic orientations.
Purpose - 2013 to 2014 was a transitional situation in which China's Smartphone industry was fluctuating. So in this paper, we will look at the strategies and achievements of Xiaomi, a company that has emerged in this situation and topped the market share. In particular, the purpose of this paper is to analyze why Xiaomi, which is considered a copycat, was able to succeed in the smartphone market four years after entering the market and analyze its strategy. Research design and methodology - Various secondary data are to be used for this study. Using various newspaper articles as well as corporate reports, the company analyzes the transitional situation from 2013 to 2014 and the competitors together. Through these analyses, Xiaomi's strengths are selected objectively and analyzed to identify the factors that made Xiaomi successful. Results - After China's transitional shift in 2014, Xiaomi brought about a 152.3 percent share change over the previous year. In addition, it surpassed Samsung Electronics, which has been the industry's No. 1 player, in 2014, and achieved the No. 1 ranking with a 16 percent share. Xiaomi Mi4's phone had a strong point of maintaining low price while being loaded with high performance. Conclusions - Xiaomi's success is because its price and performance was excellent. Xiaomi's Mi4's specifications were not far behind its competitors', but it was very cheap compared to its competitors' prices. They also valued software and used talent-oriented human resource strategies. Plus, it created the 'Mifan' culture successfully and benchmarked the strengths of its competitors smartly.
It has limits that system administrator deals with many problems occurred in systems because computing environments are increasingly complex. It is issued that systems have an ability to recognize system's situations and adapt them by itself in order to resolve these limits. But it requires much experiences and knowledge to build the Self-Adaptive System. The difficulty that builds the Self-Adaptive System has been problems. This paper proposes a technique that generates automatically the codes of the Self-Adaptive System in order to make the system to be built more easily. This Self-Adaptive System resolves partially the problems about ineffectiveness of the exceeded usage of the system resource that was previous research's problem and incorrect operation that is occurred by external factors such as virus. In this paper, we applied the proposed approach to the file transfer module that is in the video conferencing system in order to evaluate it. We compared the length of the codes, the number of Classes that are created by the developers, and development time. We have confirmed this approach to have the effectiveness.
The article concerns the public policy for the development of the arts educator in the field of the comic and animation education. The comic and animation education programs are focused on the promotion of the creativity and communication skills of the student in terms of the arts education. The article seeks to examine the case on the support program for the comic and animation educators, which has been managed by Korea Arts & Culture Education Service(KACES) since 2005. The forty two educators were surveyed. As a result, the support program of the KACES has an effect on the educator's recognition of the comic and animation education in the positive way. The most of the educators suggest that the support program should try to develop the comic and animation educator job as a special work with the full time job. In this repect, the article recommend the policy alternatives such as the promotion of the education program R & D, the knowledge and information system, training system and the establishment of the governance system.

Purpose. Electronic intermediaries (e-intermediaries) are gaining significance in international marketing with the rapid development of e-commerce. The goal of this study is to explain empirically what leads to a higher use of this relatively new exportation alternative. Relying on a resource-based view as our research foundation, we focus on information technology (IT) and non-IT factors as possible determinants. Further, this study brings arguments offered by transaction cost theorists to explain the other non-IT determinants. Methodology/Approach. Data are collected from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the electronic industry in Korea and the U.S to ensure generalizability. Ordinary least square (OLS) regression is utilized to analyze the data. Findings. This study raises new issues regarding a relatively new type of exporting channel, e-intermediary. Exporting is regarded as the most appropriate strategy for SMEs in international commerce. A number of SMEs stay away from exporting due to limited resources or lack of knowledge regarding foreign markets. The findings in this study should help SMEs use e-intermediaries more widely by developing appropriate IT-related resources (IT-related human and relationship assets) and dealing with non-IT factors (international competence, environmental uncertainty, and duration of relationship) effectively. Originality/Value/Contribution. This study illustrates the significant role of e-intermediaries, which may help SMEs to penetrate the global market effectively. Finding relevant sources in the global e-marketplace is a challenge for non-experienced users like SMEs. This study proposes e-intermediaries as an effective alternative for them. Another contribution of this study is to show how the use of indirect exporting channels, e-intermediaries, decrease costs in exporting transactions. This study suggests an e-intermediary as a hybrid exporting channel to balance risk and profit.
This study aims to examine the effect of coaching leadership on reality shock and organizational commitment of new nurses in general hospitals. Data were analyzed through the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Standard Multiple Regression. Regression analysis proved relevance of the organizational commitment model (F=6.17, p<.001), and coaching leadership had 39.2% explanatory power on reality shock. The results of the study showed that coaching leadership lowers reality shock and boosts organizational commitment of new nurses. This study provides necessary background knowledge of human and material resource management to alleviate the reality shock and help vocational adaptation to reduce turnover rates of new nurses. Hence, with such results, this study aims to provide basic information on future coaching leadership research and coaching leader defense program developments.
Short rotation woody crops belonging to the genera Populus L., Salix L., Pinus L., and Eucalyptus L'Her. have provided broad economic and ecological benefits throughout the world, including afforestation and reforestation along urban to rural gradients. Within the genus Populus, cottonwoods, poplars, aspens, and their hybrids (hereafter referred to as poplars) have been shown to exhibit favorable genotype ${\times}$ environment interactions, especially in the face of changing climates. Similar growth responses have been reported for Pinus, especially with white pine (Pinus strobus L.) in the North Central United States. This has led to current research priorities focused on ecosystem services for both genera. The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (2005) defines cultural, supporting, provisioning, and regulating ecosystem services. The overarching objective of this paper was to synthesize information about the potential of poplars to provide multiple ecosystem services when grown at sites with varying soil and climate conditions across landscape gradients from urban to rural areas. Specific objectives included: 1) providing background of the United States Forest Service and its Research and Development branch, 2) integrating knowledge of current poplar breeding and development with biomass provisioning and carbon regulating ecosystem services as they relate to changing climates in the North Central United States, and 3) providing a case study illustrating this integration through comparisons of poplar with white pine. Our results were evaluated in the context of climate change mitigation, with specific focus on selection of favorable genotypes for sequestering atmospheric carbon and reducing fossil fuel carbon emissions.
