In the current field of Medical Informatics, the information increases, and changes fast, so we can access the various data types which are ranged from text to image type. A small number of technician digitizes these data to establish database, but it is needed a lot of money and time. Therefore digitization by many end-users confronting data and establishment of searching database is needed to manage increasing information effectively. New data and information are taken fast to provide the quality of care, diagnosis which is the basic work in the medicine. And also It is needed the medical database for purpose of private study and novice education, which is tool to make various data become knowledge. However, current medical database is used and developed only for the purpose of hospital work management. In this study, using text input, file import and object images are digitized to establish database by people who are worked at the medicine field but can not expertise to program. Data are hierarchically constructed and then knowledge is established using a tree type database establishment method. Consequently, we can get data fast and exactly through search, apply it to study as subject-oriented classification, apply it to diagnosis as time-depended reflection of data, and apply it to education and precaution through function of publishing questions and reusability of data.

In modern dynamic management environment, there is growing recognition that? information & knowledge management systems are essential for CEO's efficient/effective decision making. As a key component to cope with this current, we suggest the management performance analysis syystem based on Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD). The system measures management performance that is considered with both VA(Value- Added), which represents stakeholder's point of view and EVA(Economic Value-Added), which represents shareholder's point of view. The relation ship between management performance and some 80 financial ratios is analyzed, and then important financial ratios are drawn out. In analyzing the relationship, we applied KDD process which includes such as multidimensional cube, OLAP(On-Line Analytic Process), data mining and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). To demonstrate the performance of the system, we conducted a case study using financial data over the 16-years from 1981 to 1996 of Korean automobile industry which is taken from database of KISF AS(Korea Investors Services Financial Analysis System).

In this study, database schema which is capable of maintaining various design-knowledge and applicable to the structural designs has been presented. Futhermore, by utilizing the database system, RECODSS (REinforced COncrete Design Support System) was developed as well. Knowledge-base that were formulated from the document is constructed by applying the concrete standard specifications of Korea from 1989. The basic drawing was prepared by $AutoCAD^TM$. As an inference in the preliminary design, the certainty function and the interpolation function were presented. The certainty function is made by assuming linear relations between each data while referencing $MYCIN^TM$ (expert systems). Nevertheless, the interpolation function was made by utilizing the linear Lagrange interpolation. For the search of the design-knowledge, fast search algorithm and full-text search algorithm were used, however, the design engine was programmed with C language. RECODSS was applied for designing a slab and a beam member. And the results were compared with the existing results. In conclusion, RECODSS was able to efficiently manage various design knowledge and to introduce stable design results.

The purpose of this study is to achieve two goals. One is to construct knowledge database which could read and analyse electronic documents in place of researchers for the purpose of improvement of research productivity, and the other is to develop automated patent application engine which is connected to the knowledge database. This study discusses the possibilities and appropriateness of two systems mentioned earlier, and provides elements necessary to system developments and technical problems through model development.

In this paper, we present a knowledge-based object-oriented spatial database system called KOBOS. A knowledge-based approach is introduced to the object-oriented spatial database system for data modeling and approximate query answering. For handling the structure of spatial objects and the approximate spatial operators, we propose three levels of object-oriented data model: (1) a spatial shape model; (2) a spatial object model; (3) an internal description model. We use spatial type abstraction hierarchies(STAHs) to provide the range of the approximate spatial operators. We then propose SOQL, a spatial object-oriented query language. SOQL provides an integrated mechanism for the graphical display of spatial objects and the retrieval of spatial and aspatial objects. To support an efficient hybrid query evaluation, we use the top-down spatial query processing method.

The objective of this paper is to develop a knowledge assets measurement model in Korea. There are relatively many researches on measuring knowledge assets of an organization. These previous researches, however, lack of comprehensive view of knowledge management and view of Korean organizational culture. We surveyed and analyzed previous researches, and found common factors to measure knowledge assets. We developed an updated version of knowledge assets index. The developed model has been validated for its fitness with real data of Korean companies. The result of this research can be used as a measurement tool for knowledge assets of public institutions as well as private companies.

To establish integrated Database, this paper (1) grasped key success factors of integrated data environment, (2) selected linking information through investigating information-oriented projects and database necessary to perform construction project in public section, (3) divided selected information into project-based information and general information, and then (4) presented plan of sharing knowledge through using the linking method of knowledge database and meta-database.

The treatment of Atopic dermatitis and its untapped herbal elements are recognized as possible solutions to incurable diseases stemming from overdosage of chemical drugs. Synthesizing clinical results from the Oriental medicine with scientific results from the field of Molecular biology is in the mainstream. The main goal of this research is, by objectifying the methodology of abstracting information into a compendium, to establish knowledge-based database on natural materials mingling every single related information from both Oriental and Western medicine. The constructed system, ATODERM, is the first database system about the medical herb for the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis which bearing the integrated information on Oriental medicine and Western medicine. The construction of this database renders new ways of treatment and prescriptions for researchers in the field of the Oriental medicine. Using the database that has been intensively accumulated, the possibility of creating the plausible cure for the disease can be anticipated.
