In this study, we studied the compression test of laterally confined concrete cylinder by the carbon-fiber sheet(CFS), and compared the test results with previous test results and relationships by other researchers. Our objectives is to find the stress-strain characteristics and the enhancement of strength of the confined concrete to the lateral pressure offered by CFS.

Two types of urine dipstick assays, Multistix-SG and Combur-9-test RL, were compared for compatibility, accuracy, specificity and predictive values of a positive and negative test in 501 patients urine and artificially prepared specimen. We found that the results of semiquantitative tests of Multistix-SG and Combur-9-Test RL performed were statistically similar in patients specimen. The urinary leukocyte estrase tests of Combur-9-Test RL assays compared with urine sediment microscopy in regard to compatibility, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values of a positive and negative test 83.7%, 48.1%, 90.3%, 47.4% and 90.1%, respectively. The urinar nitrite tests of Comber-9-Test RL assays compared with urine culture tests, in regard to compatibility, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values of a positive and negative tests were 90.3%, 19.4%, 84.7%, 53.8% and 94.1%, respectively. For the urinary protein, the sulfosalicylic acid method was the most sensitive test for any kinds of protein, and Multistix-SG appeared more sensitive than Compur-9-Test RL for the albuminuria. For the urinary bilirubin and glusose, two dipstick assays were similar in their diganostic efficiency. Finally in the urinary occult blood tests, Combur-9-Test RL assays was more sensitive than Multistix-SG.

Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the dose-dependent effects of Gastrodia elata Blume for memory improvement. Methods: This study was a 12-weeks, double blind, and comparative clinical study. Those who were eligible worked with a group of healthy seniors, all 60 years of age or older. 22 subjects were randomized either to Gastrodia elata Blume powder form that was steeped in hot water or placebo. We measured the faculty of memory by using MMSE-K, Digit Span, Letter Fluency Test, Word List Memory Test, and Trail Making Test, and again after 12 weeks. Results: 1) Neither Gastrodia elata Blume groups nor control have a difference in MMSE-K, Digit Span, Letter Fluency Test, and Trail Making Test. 2) Gastrodia elata Blume group showed significant advances in immediate recall 1 and 2 of Word List Memory Test, and 3 g group show better results than the 4 g group. 3) 4 g Gastrodia elata Blume group showed significant advances in the recognition of Word List Memory Test. Conclusions: The results suggest that positive effects on memory improvement due to Gastrodia elata Blume depend on the amount.

The purpose of this study was to measure the engine torque and rotational speed of a 67 kW class agricultural tractor according to tire type during plow tillage and to analyze the gear strength of the driving shift for the tractor. A field test was performed under the condition with a single tire (Test A) and dual tires (Test B) to increase the ground width of the rear tires. A load monitoring system was developed, and the engine torque and rotational speed were measured using controller area network (CAN) communication. The engine torque and rotational speed during plow tillage were calculated as the equivalent torque and speed using Palmgren Miner's rule. As a result, the equivalent torque and speed in Test A and Test B were 181.0 Nm and 1,913 rpm and 206.1 Nm and 2,130 rpm, respectively. As the ground width of the rear tire was increased, the bending stress in Test B was about 9.9 to 10.5% higher than that of the Test A, and the contact stress was about 4.6 to 4.9% higher than that of the Test A. Under all conditions, the safety factor for the bending and contact stress was 1 or more. Thus, the driving shift gears for the dual tire type are considered safe.

In general, it is well known fact that the stone mastic asphalt (SMA) pavement has a high resistance against rutting. However, performance of SMA is not well measured by general method used in the laboratory. The objective of this study is to investigate an applicability of deformation strength ($S_D$) for performance estimation of SMA, and to find out the correlation between rut depth and dynamic stability, and $S_D$ of SMA. This study carried out wheel tracking test and Kim-test with optimum asphalt content (OAC) determined by mix design. The results indicated that the $S_D$ of SMA was very poorer than those of dense-graded asphalt mixtures. $S_D$ showed similar WT dynamic stability and rut-depth level. It was found that Kim-test was not reflected higher rutting resistance of SMA like as indirect tensile strength (ITS) test and Marshall stability test. Also, it was revealed that dynamic stability and rut-depth of WT had some problems to estimate rutting resistance of SMA mixtures.

Purpose: Women are more vulnerable to post-traumatic stress (PTS) than men, causing several health problems. Nurses should understand and work with women who have experienced trauma and provide interventions to promote their physical, social, and mental health. Methods: This quasi-experimental pilot study used a one-group pre-test/post-test design. Data were collected from 14 women recruited between December 2019 and May 2020 from a self-sufficiency support center in South Korea for sexually-exploited women who had experienced trauma. The program consisted of six one-on-one intervention sessions per week for six weeks. Each session averaged 60~120 minutes. Participants were assessed at pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up. Changes in outcome variables over time were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank and Friedman tests. Results: The caring program for health promotion was divided into six sessions: understanding the self, sharing traumatic events and negative emotions, reframing the meaning of traumatic events, identifying thoughts and physical and emotional responses, developing health promotion activities, and maintaining a positive attitude during the process of change. As a result of the caring program, PTS (F = 36.33, p < .001), depression (F = 24.45, p < .001), health-promoting behaviors (F = 7.06, p = .004), and self-esteem (F = 19.74, p < .001) among the participants differed significantly at pre-test, post-test, and follow-up. Conclusion: This study provides foundational information for the implementation of a theory-driven program by nurses in clinical and community settings to provide comprehensive care for women who have experienced trauma.

Press formabilities of aluminum sheets for automobile body were investigated. Plane strain stretching test (called RIST-PSST), cupping test and U bending test were performed to assess the press formability of aluminum sheets respectively. The results showed that aluminum sheets are generally inferior to cold-rolled steel sheet of deep drawing quality (CSP3N) in press formability. The limiting punch height (LPH) and limiting plane strain (FLCo) of aluminum sheets are 50%-70% level compared to that of CSP3N. Moreover, the limiting drawing ratios(LDR) of aluminum sheets are ranged between 1.95 and 2.1. The poor press formability of aluminum sheets is responsible for low values of total elongation and plastic anisotropy parameter in tensile characteristic. The shape fixability of aluminum sheets evaluated in U bending test is very poor due to its low elastic modulus compared to CSP3N.

This paper addresses grid interconnection tests of a 3kW transformer-less photovoltaic (PV) inverter to verify the effectiveness of the PV inverter and promote its wide use. The 3kW transformer-less PV inverter, which was equipped with intelligent protection and control system, was manufactured. A hardware test bed was constructed for performance tests of the PV inverter. Control performance and grid protection tests were carried out using the test bed. Test results verify the performance of the power control and grid protection functions of the developed transformer-less PV inverter.

Before a developed digital Power System Stabilizer(PSS) is installed to real power system, an efficient trial test for installing PSS is needed. In this paper, the performance of developed digital PSS for a single hydro-turbine generator and infinite bus system has been investigated using Real Time Digital Simulator(RTDS) in order to install PSS to real power system practically. The test system was composed of RTDS, three phase voltage/current amplifier and the PSS and the test scheme provided a very efficient way to verify the design and control performance of a PSS to be applied to real power system. The trial installation test through AVR 3% step test and three fault analysis may be guaranteed to install PSS to real power system.
