The tube voltage in radiographic technique factors of the extremities was studied to use the acryl phantom and aluminum step wedge. It was the proper tube voltage that was over 55-60kV in the finger, over 65kV in the forearm and over 75kV in the knee joint.

Gu-Hwang Plants(plants collected from mountains and fields and eaten when no food was available) is healthy, life saving food material, being Mi(taste) and Ki(energy) of nature, for modern people who lose their health by oversupplying energy and unbalanced diet. Also, Gu-Hwang Plants is material for new medicine and functional foods. However, there is a lack of document research about Gu-Hwang plants in Korea. "Gu-Hwang-Bon-Cho" is a book about plants written as a guide for collecting food from nature and maintaining life at times when no food is available due to natural disaster. The book describes in which soils the plants are produced and the names for the plants, and classifies them according to hot and cold characters and sweet and bitter tastes of the plants. In addition, the book distinguished plants' edible parts, such as flower, fruit, root, stem, peel, and leaf, with how to collect and cook them. The book is of great value that it is reprinted over generations and now there are 30 kinds of existing books. This study conducted research based on books published throughout history which are the first book of this kind by Ju-wang-ju, a book published in 1525 by I-Ryeom, a book published in 1555 by Youk-gan, a book published by Ho-seung of Sa-cheon, and a book published in 1566 by Ju-gon.

The purpose of this paper is to report the patient with lateral medullary syndrome due to occlusion of vertebral artery who was improved by oriental medical treatment. The patient was admitted on May 15, 2009 and remained until May 29, 2009. He was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and physical therapy. After the treatment, the symptoms(vertigo, diplopia, gait ataxia, sensory loss numbness, Horner's syndrome, etc) improved. This result suggests that oriental medicine can be an effective treatment for a patient with lateral medullary syndrome due to occlusion of vertebral artery. But more clinical case reports are needed.

A hybrid dust-collector combining electrostatic charging with fabric filtration method was developed, and its performance characteristics were evaluated in this study. Charged particles build porous dendritic structure on the surfaces of filter by electrostatic attraction, increasing the collection efficiency of dust particles and reducing the pressure drop through the deposited dust layer and filter media. The cleaning performance of the dust layer is improved because the dendritic structured dust layer can be removed more easily by pulse jet cleaning flow. The results of the experiment showed a reduction of fine particle emission of 37% and the energy saving of 13% by precharging dust particles before filtration.

Multiple Myeloma is malignant tumor that malignant proliferous plasma cell to originate from bone marrow invades bone multiply. Objectives : Therapy for Multiple Myeloma includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy and self-stem cell transplantation, but it has no effect for a majority of Multiple Myeloma patients. So we diagnosed it as Wei symptom, oliguria, or dysuria(遺尿) in Oriental medicine, and treated it using the Oriental medical system. Methods : The patient was treated using acupuncture, electroacupuncture, herbal acupuncture treatment, moxibustion, physical treatment and western medicine. We observed 12 kinds of symptoms in the patient when admitted to the hospital. Results : 1. Paraplegia, urination desire, voluntary urination, and other symptoms improved except for a period of complication. 2. Defecation desire, sensory disturbance of the body and lower extremities, self-made changes, maintenance of body posture, and other symptoms improved during admitting days. 3. Voluntary defecation, pains of the neck and lower extremities, and other symptoms had irregular changes during admitting days. Conclusions : This study demonstrates the necessity of having more clinical study about Mutiple Myeloma.

The addressing time should be reduced by modifying cell structure and/or driving method in order to replace the dual scan system by single scan and increase the luminance in large ac plasma display panel(PDP). In this paper, the effects of the dielectric layer thickness and the barrier rib height on the addressing time of ac PDP are investigated. It is found out that the addressing time was decreased with decreasing thickness of dielectric layer on the front glass and thickness of white dielectric layer on the rear glass. The decreasing rate were 160ns/10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 270nsd/10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. Also in case of decreasing the height of barrier rib, addressing time was decreased at the rate of 550ns/10${\mu}m$.

In this study, the luminance, luminous efficiency and address time of an PDP as a parameter of the phosphor thickness and the size of discharge space are investigated. The maximum luminance and luminous efficiency are obtained at the phosphor thickness of 30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ for the rib height of 110 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. For the rib height of 120~160 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, the maximum values are obtained at the thickness of 50 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ regardless of the kind of R, G and B phosphor. These results do not affected by the variation of discharge space. The average decrease rate of the total charge to the phosphor thickness is about 3.35pc/cell/10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and the average increase rate of the addressing time is about 0.027 $mutextrm{s}$/10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.
