  • The purpose of this study is to study digital divide research trends of LIS fields and other social science fields through the analysis of author keyword network of peer-reviewed journal articles using NetMiner4 software. The author keyword was collected from KCI database. The results of the study were as follows: 1) the digital divide studies were focused on information services provision for information disadvantaged group by the public libraries in LIS fields. However, the studies of other social science fields were focused on the unique characteristics of information society and a new phenomenon of digital divide in the smart era, 2) compared with the other social science fields, there were a few researches about the old among the underprivileged, 3)there was little interest in other types of libraries except public libraries in LIS fields, 4)there is a need to study new types of digital divide in the smart era by LIS scholars.

  • This study analyzed the trend of the term 'false and exaggerated advertisement' in 5,141 newspaper articles from 1990 to 2019 using text mining methodology. First of all, we identified the most frequent keywords of false and exaggerated advertisements through frequency analysis for all newspaper articles, and understood the context between the extracted keywords. Next, to examine how false and exaggerated advertisements have changed, the frequency analysis was performed by separating articles by 10 years, and the tendency of the keyword that became an issue was identified by comparing the number of academic papers on the subject of the highest keywords of each year. Finally, we identified trends in false and exaggerated advertisements based on the detailed keywords in the topic using the topic modeling. In our results, it was confirmed that the topic that became an issue at a specific time was extracted as the frequent keywords, and the keyword trends by period changed in connection with social and environmental factors. This study is meaningful in helping consumers spend wisely by cultivating background knowledge about unfair advertising. Furthermore, it is expected that the core keyword extraction will provide the true purpose of advertising and deliver its implications to companies and related employees who commit misconduct.

  • In order to understand and track the trends of construction safety accident, this study shows the topic trends in the construction safety accident with LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation)-based topic modeling method for data analytics. Especially, it performs to figure out the main issue of construction safety accident with unstructured data analysis based on the topic modeling rather than a variety of structured data analysis for preventing to safety accident in construction industry. To apply this methodology, I randomly collected to 540 news article data about construction accident from January 2017 to February 2018. Based on the unstructured data with the LDA-based topic modeling, I found the 10 topics and identified key issues through 10 keyword in each 10 topics. I forecasted the topic issue related to construction safety accident based on analysis of time-series trends about the news data from January 2017 to February 2018. With this method, this research gives a hint about ways of using unstructured news article data to anticipate safety policy and research field and to respond to construction accident safety issues in the future.

  • In this paper, we examined the research trends and characteristics related to the metaverse in global journals published between 2000 and 2022 from the Web of Science database. The analysis included descriptive statistics, multidimensional scaling, keyword network analysis, and visualization. In addition, semantic network models were constructed, and centrality (betweenness and degree) analysis was performed using R and KH coder in two separate categories based on the trends and aspects of the publication: analysis period 1 (Jan 2000 to Dec 2020) and period 2 (Jan 2021 to Jun 2022). The results showed that the recent global research trends related to the metaverse could be quantitatively characterized using the semantic network analysis. Also, the results could be applied to suggest future research topics in the field of metaverse based on quantitative and empirical data.

  • IT-related fields are very diverse. As of 2018, the IT revolution from the Fourth Industrial Revolution not only brought out the new fields that were different from the previous ones, but it also made a reexamination of various fields that had already been an issue in the past. Companies and public institutions have a great interest in understanding IT trends in this situation. Therefore, in this paper, IT trends are identified through the analyzation of keywords provided by domestic papers. Moreover, unlike previous industry trend analysis or economic analysis, this paper focuses on analyzing the keyword provided by the doctoral thesis or master's thesis about direct IT-related research, and grasps the more basic and direct IT trend. This analysis predicts and presents the vision based on the data of the analysis from the academic papers that researched in IT technology for IT related students or IT related educators.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in domestic and international gifted education in the last six years (2010-2015) by utilizing social network analysis methods. For papers of gifted education in Korea, two KCI (Korea Citation Index) rated journals, the 'Gifted/Talented Education' (The Korean Society for the Gifted) and 'Gifted and Talented Education' (The Korean Society for the Gifted and Talented Education) were selected and 457 pieces published in two journals were collected. The papers of 347 published in SSCI rated journals, 'The Gifted Child Quarterly,' 'Journal for the Education of the Gifted,' and 'High Ability Studies' were selected. English keywords were extracted from 457 papers from Korean journals and 347 papers from foreign journals and the Social Network Analysis (SNA) way was utilized for keyword frequency and central network analyses. It was appeared that the trends of paper keywords from domestic and foreign countries showed common keywords, 'academically gifted', 'science gifted', and 'gifted' as center keyword frequency, and keywords, 'achievement', 'identification', 'intelligence' appeared as the most frequent ones. For domestic papers, keywords, 'creativity', 'gifted education', and 'gifted education teacher' were the highest frequent keywords while keywords, 'foreign countries', and 'student attitudes' were most frequent ones for the foreign countries. For the analysis of papers from five journals as one group, it was found that keywords, 'identification', 'intelligence', and 'achievement' were the most important common ones and keywords, 'cognitive', 'motivation', and 'self-concept' were appeared as important keywords. The trend of gifted education in Korea seems to be different from ones of foreign countries, domestic papers of gifted education rarely included keywords of 'foreign examples', 'student attitudes', and 'gender differences.' Consequently, the trend of gifted education in Korea called for various research perspectives.

  • Today, public libraries are contributing deeply to our society by strengthening their ability and services to identify and respond to users' needs through various programs. However, it is difficult to find a study that analyzed the research status of public library programs or changes over time. Therefore, for the purpose of systematically grasping research trends in the field of overseas public library programs, an intellectual structure analysis based on keyword profiling was performed. Specifically, subject terms analysis, network analysis and cluster analysis, and analysis by period/year were performed based on the controlled keywords (subject terms) of journal articles papers searched in the LISTA database. As a result, first, it was found that 9 subjects corresponding to all global/hot/local topics are leading the research in the field of overseas public library programs. Second, five research areas in the field of overseas public library programs(cultural programs, outreach programs, activity programs, public services, community) could be visualized and clearly identified. Third, research in the field of overseas public library programs began in earnest in the late 1990s and was active from the mid-2000s to the early 2010s, and after that, it was found to be somewhat stagnant until recently. This study is the result of specifically identifying research trends on programs that recently emerged as a major task of public libraries, and can be used as basic data and prior knowledge to explore the development direction of public library programs in the future.
