  • Kwamegi, a traditional Korean food, is made from the flesh of Pacific saury (the fish Cololabis saira semi-dried in a cold wind off the sea, and is well known in Korea as a valuable health food. Recently, several functional materials have been developed for supplementation of Kwamegi. Here, we compared and analyzed the nutrient composition, including overall composition and mineral, vitamin, fatty acid, and amino acid levels, of several commercial Kwamegi samples prepared with addition of functional components (unsupplemented Kwamegi, Kwamegi with chitosan, and Kwamegi overlaid with gold leaf). The levels of moisture (26.4-30.8%), crude protein (29.1-32.7%), and crude ash (1.6-1.9%) did not differ greatly among samples. However, the crude lipid content of Kwamegi overlaid with gold leaf (KOGL, 32.2%) was greater than that of untreated Kwamegi (CK, 24.5%) or of Kwamegi with added chitosan (KAC, 22.9%). The levels of vitamin $B_2$ (1.8-2.0 mg/100 g) and vitamin C (6.6-6.7 mg/100 g) did not differ greatly among Kwamegi samples. However, CK had a higher vitamin A content and a greater vitamin A potency than did KAC or KOGL. The various Kwamegi samples tested contained similar levels of fatty acids and amino acids. In conclusion, no particular differences in nutrient composition were evident when commercial Kwamegi samples supplemented with functional ingredients were tested

  • This study aims to suggest measures for handling copyright information on government publications during records and archives management to use them freely as public works according to Article 24-2 of the Copyright Act in Korea. Through email interviews with 17 records managers, persons in charge of government publication management, and government staff with experience in production from April 4 to June 13, 2022, this study determined the current situations and problems related to producing and managing copyright information on government publications. Based on the interview findings, this research suggested the following. First, Article 24-2 of the Copyright Act must be revised to apply the Korea Open Government License (KOGL) type 1 mandatorily to all public works. Second, a cooperative system for managing copyright information on government publications should be established to improve their production and management effectiveness. Third, copyright information, such as authors, copyright holders, copyright duration, information on the copyright property transfer, public works status, and reasons for nonpublic works, must be managed through records and archives management systems. Fourth and last, information on public works must be provided during the registration number application for government publication so that everyone can access the full texts of the publications on the National Archives of Korea website.

For this purpose, qualitative study method was used with grounded theory on analyzed problems from literature review and case study. Literature review was concentrated on definition of open data and abroad utilization indicators whereas case study analyzed current situation of four web-sites providing copyrighted public records. Converged opinions from in-depth interview and various statistical data was analyzed as a basis for grounded theory, then a paradigm model was constructed and future improvement plans were presented. The findings imply that opening of copyrighted public records is not just important for quantitative results, rather it requires qualitative improvement providing latest credible information that is consistent with the demand of the customer. • With Recently in art and culture domains, there's rising controversy over shared economy and public domain works. The government is introducing institutional measures such as Gongumadang and KOGL(Korea Open Government License) program to expand the grounds for public domain works. In order to promote and facilitate the use of public domain works, it is imperative to understand how the providers who create and provide the public domain works, as well as the users, perceive shared economy and public domain works. However, preceding studies usually put emphasis on the meaning and significance of the shared economy and show limitation of not discussing providers' perception on shared economy and public domain works. Therefore, this study examines to see if there's a difference of perception between the consumers/users and the providers who owns the copyright of public domain work.
