지식 프로세스와 지식관리시스템의 성과 (The Knowledge Process and Performance of Knowledge Management Systems)

  • This study examines the impact of knowledge processes (KP) on the performance of knowledge management systems (KMS). It posits that task needs and available functionality of technology existing in an organization could influence the usability of KP and the KMS performance. A firm-level structural model was developed based on data collected from corporate KM users. Survey-based research was carried out to test this model. Following questionnaire development, validation, and pretest with a pilot study, data were collected from 886 knowledge management (KM) users including directors, managers, and workers in a South Korea-based company, Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO), to measure the task needs and available functionality of technology to improve the KMS performance. Results show that the matching between the two factors-technology and task-had a significant influence on the usability of KP and the KMS performance, and a better usability of KP has positive impact on the KMS performance. Implications on KM practices and KMS designs are also discussed.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze how both the quality of KMS (Knowledge Management System) and its organizational factors have effect on the utilization and user satisfaction in the defense sector. This study has verified the effects and identified the main factors affecting KMS performance measures. The nature of KMS quality and its organizational characteristics were deduced from previous research results, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on 250 KMS users in the defense sector on the performance of KMS based on the time spent on KMS and the overall satisfaction through which the hypothesis was verified. This study has made several contributions in the fact that it had provided the opportunity to analyze which factors have impact on knowledge management performance in the defense sector and the utilization and users' satisfaction of KMS reflecting the viewpoint of the organizational characteristics of the military, while studying the factors which can affect the performance for knowledge management.

  • 지식관리시스템(KMS)이 조직 내에서 확산되게 됨에 따라 효과적 활용방안에 대한 관심도 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연구조직을 대상으로 시스템 지식 품질, 조직지원, 개인특성이 KMS의 성공에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구를 시행하였다. 실증연구의 결과는 시스템 사용, 사용자 만족, 유용성 지각 등으로 측정된 KMS의 성공에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수로는 KMS의 시스템 품질(system quality)인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 시스템의 사용자들이 유용성을 인식하고 만족스럽게 사용하기 위해서는 시스템이 사용자들에게 편리하게 활용할 수 있도록 잘 설계되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이다. 또한 KMS성공요인들 중에는 사용자 만족과 유용성 지각이 시스템 사용의 선행요인이라는 것도 밝혀지고 있다. 끝으로 사용자의 개인적 요인인 조직기반 자기존중감이 독립변수인 영향요인과 종속변수인 KMS의 성공 간에 조절역할을 하는 것도 구명되고 있다. 이 연구는 연구조직에서는 지식관리시스템의 활용빈도를 높이기 위해서는 시스템의 사용이 연구자 친화적으로 설계, 운용되는 것이 매우 중요한 요인이라는 시사점을 주고 있다.

KMS99220 Exerts Anti-Inflammatory Effects, Activates the Nrf2 Signaling and Interferes with IKK, JNK and p38 MAPK via HO-1

  • Neuroinflammation is an important contributor to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson's disease (PD). We previously reported that our novel synthetic compound KMS99220 has a good pharmacokinetic profile, enters the brain, exerts neuroprotective effect, and inhibits $NF{\kappa}B$ activation. To further assess the utility of KMS99220 as a potential therapeutic agent for PD, we tested whether KMS99220 exerts an anti-inflammatory effect in vivo and examined the molecular mechanism mediating this phenomenon. In 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine-treated mice, oral administration of KMS99220 attenuated microglial activation and decreased the levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase and interleukin 1 beta ($IL-1{\beta}$) in the nigrostriatal system. In lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged BV-2 microglial cells, KMS99220 suppressed the production and expression of $IL-1{\beta}$. In the activated microglia, KMS99220 reduced the phosphorylation of $I{\kappa}B$ kinase, c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and p38 MAP kinase; this effect was mediated by heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), as both gene silencing and pharmacological inhibition of HO-1 abolished the effect of KMS99220. KMS99220 induced nuclear translocation of the transcription factor Nrf2 and expression of the Nrf2 target genes including HO-1. Together with our earlier findings, our current results show that KMS99220 may be a potential therapeutic agent for neuroinflammation-related neurodegenerative diseases such as PD.

고객센터 지식관리시스템 재구축 성공과 활용에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 탐색적 연구: K 보험사 사례를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study on the Factors Affecting the Success and Utilization of Reestablished Knowledge Management Systems in a Customer Center: Case of K Life Insurance)

  • Knowledge, as a source of firm's competitive edges, has been drawing attention, while numerous enterprises are investing huge amount of assets to foster the right environments for executing knowledge management (KM). As a practical way of such KM, knowledge management systems (KMS) support the creation, diffusion, and utilization of knowledge, which are the tools for practicing such management style. Recently, the customer centers which make the closest contact with the customers are being concerned about the establishment of KMS. Considering the characteristics of real-time problem solving in customer centers during the consultation with the customers, the importance of KMS is paramount to the centers. This study analyzes major factors influencing the success and utilization of the customer center KMS's reestablishment, as an exploratory case study of the reestablishment of KMS in the customer center of K insurance company. First, the characteristic differences between the customer center's KMS and the traditional KMS are discussed, and the triangulation technique is applied to secure objectivity of this case study's findings. Major results of the case study state that, for the success of KMS and improvement of utilization, the followings should be considered preferentially: excellent system quality (accessibility, user convenience, easy searching, speed/menus); high information quality (accuracy, usefulness, timeliness, task-relevance, diversity, degree of specification); appropriate operation strategy and process for the utilization of system (education, training opportunity, appropriate personnel, speed and procedure of approval, compensation/evaluation); and change management via the support from the CEO's level (concern and participation of CEO, will to propel the project, investment, advertisement, etc.). This study provides practical suggestions with respect to factors which should be more carefully dealt with, since still many customer centers have hard time establishing and operating KMS due to lack of previous studies.

지식공유 의도와 지식관리시스템의 사용 (Does Knowledge-sharing Intent Matter in the Use of Knowledge Management Systems?)

  • One of the major goals of using knowledge management systems(KMS) is the sharing of knowledge. The intent of an individual to share his/her knowledge plays a crucial role in sharing quality knowledge in corporations. However, there is little research that addresses this relationship between the intent to share and the use of KMS both from a holistic perspective and with empirical data analyses. To understand major factors that affect both knowledge sharing intent and the use of KMS, we conducted a field study from eight companies in four different industries which had been using KMS for at least a year. Using confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation modeling techniques, we have analyzed the relationships among top management support, trust among peers, trust in the organizational hierarchy, incentives and rewards, knowledge-sharing intent, KMS quality, knowledge quality, and the use of KMS. The research results show that top management support and trust between peers enhance the intent of sharing knowledge. We also found that top management support, knowledge-sharing intent, incentives and rewards, and the quality of knowledge have positive relationships with the use of KMS.

공공부문의 지식관리시스템 활용에 미치는 영향 요인과 성과에 관한 연구 (A study on the Affecting Influence Factors and Business Performance in Application of KMS in Public Sector)

  • 본 연구에서는 지식관리시스템(KMS)을 도입하여 활용 중인 공공기관을 중심으로 활용도와 만족도에 미치는 영향요인에 대한 연구이다. 공공기관의 경우 1999년 하반기부터 지식관리시스템을 본격적으로 도입하여 현재 국방부, 행정자치부, 기획예산처 등 대부분의 정부부처에서 시스템을 구축하여 운용하고 있다. 이로 인해 지식관리시스템의 편리성과 필요성을 이해하고, 지식자산의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산되고 있다. 하지만 부서별 KMS 활용도에 많은 차이가 있으며 사용자 간에도 만족도에 많은 차이가 있음을 발견할 수 있다. 이는 KMS에 대한 최고책임자 관 심, 전담 인력 요인의 지원, 교육훈련 여부, KM 프로세스 지원 등의 많은 부분에서 영향을 받는 것으로 기대되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 KMS에 미치는 영향요인으로 조직특성, 지식정보특성, 전략특성의 하위요인을 도출하고 이러한 하위요인들이 KMS 활용도 및 KMS 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하여 향후 지식관리시스템을 활성화하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

중소기업에서의 지식경영수준과 경영만족도와의 관계 분석 (Analysis of Relationship between Knowledge Management Level and Management Performance in SMB)

  • 지식경영을 위한 기업의 투자는 지속되고 있다. 그러나 기업의 규모, 업종, 시스템에 대한 이해도 등 여러 가지 분류에 따라 도입 방법, 규모가 상이하다. 지식경영에 대한 이해는 경제의 권력이 지식인에게 소유될 것이라는 피터 드럭커의 주장과 함께 관심이 극대화되었다. 그러나 지식경영이 경영성과와 상관성이 높지 않다는 연구결과도 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 현상을 실증적으로 분석하기 위해 한국의 중부권 내 제조업 중심으로 지식경영실천유형의 부호화 및 개인화의 수준을 분석하고 이러한 유형이 경영성과와 어떤 상관성이 있는지 평균분석, 상관분석을 통해 연구하였다. 경영성과의 측정 변수는 BSC의 재무적 관점, 고객 관점, 직무 관점, 학습 및 성장관점의 측정 변수를 활용하였다.
