Currently, despite the quantitative growth of domestic journal, objective and metric criterion to evaluate the contents and quality of those journals is inadequate. As a result, depending on a foreign citation index like SCI to evaluate the research result is causing some problems such as, thesis of an excellent standard being presented and published in foreign countries, thus, neglecting journals written in Korean. Hereat, the Korea Citation Index(KCI) is constructing a database of the journals published by academic associations; scientific paper information, articles information, and bibliographic, analyzing the quoting relation. Consequently, KCI is providing the basic information and the corresponding quoting relations of journals and papers on its webpage. This study compares the impact level of domestic accounting related journals by KCI and analyzes the network among journals using the cross-citation frequency from a social network analysis point of view. As a result, Accounting-related journals are now more desirable than the location in order to have a variety of interdisciplinary research needs to be encouraged. Through this exchange of other disciplines and actively made, which is the phase of apparent accounting-related journals expect to be greatly enhanced looks.

The purpose of this analysis was to classify music therapy studies published in KCI journals to understand the type of research being conducted and trends in the research. This study analyzed 472 music therapy articles published in KCI journals from 2005 to October 31, 2017. The study analyzed the overall characteristics of the included studies, trends in each research field, study subjects, research types, and commonalities and differences between research fields. It was confirmed that the number of music therapy studies published in KCI journals steadily increased from 2005. The results also confirmed that the research subjects and types of music therapy research became more diverse. For example, earlier studies focused on participants with disabilities, but populations without disabilities were increasingly the focus of more recent studies. Similarly, earlier studies were mostly experimental or descriptive, but more recent research included historical, philosophical, and program development studies. The results of analysis confirm that music therapy research is evolving and being conducted in cooperation with many other fields. This article provides a snapshot of the current state of music therapy research and offers implications for the future of music therapy research with multidisciplinary characteristics.

Recently, the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) announced new plan to reflect the KCI citation measures in journal evaluation. In principle, Journal evaluation should reflect each journals situation and characteristics through various indicators. In this study, three improvement plans were proposed by reviewing the announced journal evaluation plan of NRF. The first improvement is to consider the five-year IF as an additional citation measure; the second improvement is to allow flexible selection of the category level on which to rank journals; and the last improvement is to combine the previous two methods and apply them together. The improvement methods proposed in this study are expected to contribute to minimizing side effects of KCI journal evaluation.

The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for internationalization of domestic journals in the field of Library and Information Sciences (LIS). This study analyzed the characteristics and trends of 7,302 papers from 38 SSCI journals and 768 papers from 4 domestic journals in LIS. Results show the publication and citation counts of domestic journals to be more evenly distributed than those of international journals, which suggests the presence of core international journals. In addition, citation rates and co-authored papers of international journals are shown to be much higher than that of domestic journals, suggesting that international journals publish research papers of higher impact and collaboration.

This study aims to describe the general patterns of Korean research in Arts and Kinesiology, particularly from the perspective of authorship. Among the 12 sub-areas of Arts and Kinesiology indexed in the Korean Citation Index (KCI), journals in three sub-areas, "Arts," "Design," and "Kinesiology" have the longest publishing histories and produced the largest volume of articles. 68 journals in the "Arts," "Design," and "Kinesiology" sub-areas were accredited in the KCI between 2001 and 2019; 40,955 articles which were published in the journals between the years of accreditation and the end of 2019 serve as the context of this article. Authorship, affiliated institutions and countries, openness to new authors, top researchers, topological properties of authorship networks, overall research performance by authors, and co-authorship patterns were analyzed and compared among three sub-subjects.

The purpose of this study was to identify bibliographic characteristics of the top level articles among KCI indexed academic articles. Unlike the existing analysis on citation and most-cited articles, this study analyzed their bibliographic characteristics. The 3,453 articles were collected from 17 social science fields in KCI. The characteristics of authors, institutions, publications, journals, and citations were analyzed. According to the result of the analysis, there was a difference in the ratio of single authors to co-authors and in the number of co-authors. The authors were mostly single authors or two co-authors. In general, the percentage of authors of one article was high. Second, the types of institutions were mostly universities, and there were differences in the number of institutions with authors in each field. And the frequency of the authors' affiliation appeared uneven. There were a number of excellent research institutes and authors depending on the field. Third, the average of years to take to become the top articles for publication was 11 years in 2018. Fourth, most of the published journals were KCI registered journals, and the influence of the journals was not a factor. Fifth, there were differences in the number of cited counts between fields. This study is meaningful to grasp the influencing factors on the bibliographic characteristics of the most-cited articles for the social science field.

The importance of citation measures has been increasing in the evaluation of scholarly journals and it becomes a major issue for Korean Citation Index (KCI) journals. The Journal Impact Factor (JIF), a widely used measure for academic journals, has a problematic issue that it does not include the number of citations for a paper immediately made in the year in which the cited paper was published. On the contrary, the Diachronous Impact Factor (IMP) includes the number of citations made in the published year, but IMP is a measure for papers published a few years ago, not in the last year. It does not represent the recent value of journals effectively. To overcome these problems, Total Impact Factor (TIF) and Mean Impact Factor (MIF) are proposed as new journal citation indicators. This study calculated the performance of proposed indicators experimentally on KCI data. The result shows that TIF is a promising measure for the multidimensional evaluation of humanities and social sciences journals in Korea because it has high stability by year and includes the immediate citations of the published year.

The Korea Port Economics Association was established in 1985 and has been operated for academic research on port economics and research on port logistics. Marking the 35th anniversary of its establishment, it is necessary to establish a new development strategy for academic societies and academic journals. This study analyzed the current status of publication of the Journal of Korea Port Economic Association, from the first issue of 2017 to the December issue of 2019, the utilization and systematic nature of this journal, and the efforts implemented to improve the quality of the journal. The recognition, utilization, and subject inconsistencies were analyzed to determine the academic value of the journal. The findings suggested the journal's academic excellence, as evidenced by its highest ranking by Journal Impact Factor among agro-oceanography journals (among 77 journals) and marine transport journals (among four journals). Further, the direction of development for this academic journal was presented with reference to research characteristics and specialization efforts.

Citation frequency is an important factor in evaluating journal quality and is used as a measure of journal impact. The citation index of a paper plays an important role in linking papers with groups of other academic papers, forming a huge and complex network. This study examines the intellectual structure of apparel research through the bibliometric citation analysis of The Research Journal of the Costume Culture (RJCC). In order to analyze the changes in the intellectual structure of the RJCC, we used the Korea Citation Index's (KCI) data (highly citing journals and highly cited journals). The NodeXL, a social network analysis tool, was used to examine the connection structure between journals. In order to identify the academic influence of the RJCC, we used the KCI journal citation index. Our findings indicate that the RJCC has a high centrality index among the clothing-oriented journals in the same life sciences field. A look at the journals citing the RJCC and the journals cited within the RJCC also showed that more journals of diverse fields have been recently linked through their citations. This suggests that a convergence of interdisciplinary research is underway in the field of clothing. As a result of examining international journals cited in the RJCC, it was confirmed that they were cited in prominent international journals in various fields.

This study analyzed changes to copyright policies in KCI journals comparatively using the previous 2 research results published in 2008 and 2016 and then gave insight into the meaning of the changes. The results of the study are as follows: Journals making the subject of copyright public had increased from 34% in 2008 to 67% in 2016. Journals transferring copyright from authors remained almost the same, with only a slight increase from 90% to 91% in the same period. Journals using the term 'publication rights' instead of 'copyright' had decreased; on the other hand, journals using the term 'reproduction right' and 'right of transmission' had increased. Use of copyright transfer agreement had increased from 25% to 50%; on the other hand, self archiving policy remained almost the same, decreasing slightly from 13% to 12%. This study argues that these changes mean the establishment of copyright industrialization for Korean journals and that the publishing bodies appear to be the most powerful main agent among stakeholders participating in scholarly publishing in this process.
