Monascus Purpureus의 수준별 급여가 육계의 성장과 계란의 품질에 미치는 영향

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of feeding Monascus Purpures(MP) on the growth performance of broiler chicks and egg qualify in laying hens. In Expt 1, MP were supplemented with 0. 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0% in basal diets. Weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion were examined for five weeks and blood cholesterol, protein were measured at the end of experiment. In Expt 2, diets supplemented with 0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0% MP were fed for two weeks. Egg qualify and yolk cholesterol were weekly measured. In Expt 1, Basal diets containing CP 21.5, 19%, ME 3,100, 3,200 kcal/kg were fed ad libitum for starting and finsihing period, repectively. In Expt 2, hens diet contained CP 16%, ME 2,800 kca1/kg and fed for two weeks. In Expt 1, weight gain of birds fed 2.0% MP was maximized at five weeks of age. Feed efficiency was not statistically different, but tended to improve in 1.0, 2.0% MP supplemental groups compared with control. Total serum cholesterol tended to be lower in 2.0% MP supplemental group but was not statistically different. In Expt 2, albumen height and Haugh unit of birds fed 1.0 and 2.0% MP were higher than other treatments, but was not statistically different. Yolk cholesterol of hens fed MP diets showed no significance.

Population structure and regeneration of Himalayan endemic Larix species in three high-altitude valleys in Nepal Himalaya

  • Background: The Himalayan forests are of great importance to sustain the nature and community resource demands. These forests are facing pressures both from anthropogenic activities and ongoing global climatic changes. Poor natural regeneration has been considered a major problem in mountainous forests. To understand the population structure and regeneration status of Larix (Larix griffithiana and Larix himalaica), we conducted systematic vegetation surveys in three high-altitude valleys namely Ghunsa (Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, KCA), Langtang (Langtang National Park, LNP), and Tsum (Manaslu Conservation Area, MCA) in Nepal Himalaya. The average values of diameter at breast height (DBH), height, and sapling height were compared for three sites and two species using Kruskal-Wallis test. Population structure was assessed in terms of proportion of seedlings, saplings, and trees. Regeneration was analyzed using graphical representation of frequencies of seedlings, saplings, and trees in histograms. Results: The results showed that the population structure of Larix in terms of the proportion of seedling, sapling, and tree varied greatly in the three study areas. KCA had the highest record of seedling, sapling, and tree compared to other two sites. Seedlings were the least among three forms and many plots were without seedlings. We found no seedling in MCA study plots. The plot level average DBH variation among sites was significant (Kruskal-Wallis χ2 = 7.813, df = 2, p = 0.02) as was between species (Kruskal-Wallis χ2 = 5.9829, df = 1, p = 0.014). Similarly, the variation in average tree height was significant (Kruskal-Wallis χ2 = 134.23, df = 2, p < 0.001) among sites as well as between species (Kruskal-Wallis χ2 = 128.01, df = 1, p < 0.001). All the sites showed reverse J-shaped curve but more pronounced for KCA and MCA. In comparing the two species, Larix griffithiana has clear reverse J-shaped diameter distribution but not Larix himalaica. Conclusion: The varied responses of Larix manifested through regeneration status from spatially distinct areas show that regeneration limitations might be more pronounced in the future. In all the three studied valleys, regeneration of Larix is found to be problematic and specifically for Larix griffithiana in MCA and Larix himalaica in LNP. To address the issues of disturbances, especially serious in LNP, management interventions are recommended to sustain the unique Himalayan endemic conifer.

Effects of Dietary Food on Body Weight, Plasma Lipids and Glucose in Rats (다이어트 식품이 흰쥐의 체중, 혈중지질 및 혈당농도에 미치는 영향)

  • The diet food used in this test was composed of the total 16 kinds, such as refined water, herb extract, pomegranate extract, polydextrose and isomalto-oligosaccharide etc. Edible fiber as a major component in dietary food was contained to 2.60%(w/w) level. But the calorie was 104.57kca1/100g, contrast of control domestic saengshick product was 368.06kca1. As a result, calorie of dietary food sample was very low level. Vitamin and mineral as a minor component were determined 5, 6 kinds, respectively. On the other hand, dietary effect of body weight loss was determined about 14%(w/w) at animal test result used for rats during 4 weeks. The reason of dietary effect could confirmed from change of plasma neutral lipids, total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol concentration. Increasing ratio of these in the general diet and dietary diet feeding groups during 4 weeks were 10.55, 6.90, 9.82% and 6.11, 3.85, 6.11%, respectively. from these results, decrease reason of body weight could confirmed the relative relationship with plasma lipids and cholesterol concentration. But plasma plasma glucose and insulin concentration have not positive relativity.

Cooking and Sorption Characteristics of Black Soybeans (검정콩의 조리(調理) 및 흡습성질(吸濕性質))

  • Dried black soybeans were soaked in water at the temperature range of $4^{\circ}C{\sim}100^{\circ}C$ and in salt or sugar solution at $100^{\circ}C$ in order to investigate their effects on the cooking ratio and diffusion property of color pigments. As the temperature increased, the equilibrated absorbance at 490nm of soaking water after 120min was linearly increased. The activation energy for diffusion of color pigments were found to be 4.23 Kcal/mole at the range of $60^{\circ}C{\sim}100^{\circ}C$ and 8.31 kca1/mo1e at $4^{\circ}C{\sim}60^{\circ}C$. The cooking ratio, % cooked beans after heating, of black soybeans were more affected by the salt concentration that of sugar. Both concentrations reduced the cooking ratio as they increased. The sorption isotherm of Kongjaban showed a quite different curves between the storage at $4^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$. The sorption and desorption rates during storage could be represented by the equation of $log({\frac{dw}{dt}}{\times}10^3))=alogt+logb$ with a very high correlation.

  • Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) thin films are fabricated by vapor deposition method and their dielectric characteristics are investigated. At electric field near 4MV/m, a phase transition occur with polar ${\alpha}$ . In accordance to increasing temperature, the dielectric relaxation of PVOF thin films show from 70Hz to 104Hz. This result correspond to Debye's theory[1]. Activation energy of PVDP thin film is 21Kca1/mo1.

  • The physical and chemical properties of dry acorn starch(DS), defatted acorn starch (DFS) and reincorporated acorn starch(RIS) were investigated. Swelling power and solubility of all starch sample, were exhibited two stage behavior. It had a little change on the pasting temperature of DS and DFS but the peak viscosity and breakdown value of DFS was somewhat higher than those of DS and RIS. Flow behavior of gelatinized starch pastes showed a pseudoplastic behavior and flow behavior index was lower than unit The consistency coefficient showed concentration and temperature dependency. The activation energies of DS, DFS and RIS were from $1.70Kca1/g\;{\cdot}\;mol$ to $3.75Kca1/g\;{\cdot}\;mol$.

  • Intrinsic binding kinetics of of 125I-bovine serum albumin (125I-BSA) and immobilized monoclonal anti-BSA (MAb 9.1) were studied. Small non-porous polystyrene beads (0.5${\mu}$m diameter) were used as a solid support to minimize the mass transfer interference on rate measurements. We demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally that the binding reaction is kinetically controlled. Rate measurements show that the association reaction is of second order and the dissociation reaction is of first order. Between 4 and $37^{\circ}C$ the measured equilibrium constant agrees well with the equilibrium constant calculated from the rate measurements. The temperature effects on association are much greater than on dissociation; the activation energy for association is about 9Kca1/mole, as compared to 2Kca1/mole for dissociation. The use of small non-porous beads as a solid support in binding studies essentially avoids mass transfer limitations; such a system makes it possible to determine the intrinsic binding characteristics of any immobilized antibody on a solid surface.

  • This study was performed to analyse some rick ffactors for chronic degenerative diseases of the Korean dict. The study subjects consisted of preschool children(PC), elementary school children(EC), high school students(HS), college students(CS), and adults over 30 years old living in Seoul and the surrounding areas. The subjects over 30 years old were classfied to 30-49 years, 50-69 years, and over 70 years. A dietary survey was conducted using 24-hour recall method and data were collected from 2392 subjects. The dietary risks for chronic degenerative disease such as food sources of fat consumption, high cholesterol intake, low dietary fiber intake, and low calcium intake and high protein intake were analyzed. Younger subjects had more animal fat proportion than older subjects did. HS and CS had the least fat proportion from fishes and shellfishes. Each mean cholesterol intake of PC, EC, HS, and CS was over 300mg/day, and HS load the highest level of 415mg/day. Cholesterol density of the diet of PC was the highest of 175mg/1000kcal and the level decreased when the age increased. The subjects consuming cholesterol over 100 mg/1000kca1 were about 70% of PC and HS. More than 20% of PC, EC, and HS consumed calcium under 75% of RDA with protein consumption over 125% of RDA. Dietary fiber intakes were 18g for HS, CS, 30-49 years, and 50 ∼ 69 years, 14g for EC and over 70 years, and 12g for PC. Ninety percent of PC and EC, 80% of HS and CS, and 70% of tole subjccts over 30years consumed dietary fiber under the level of 10g/1000kca1. The major food sources of dietary fiber were vegetables and grains. From these results, children and adolescents had ricks for chronic degenerative diseases on all the analyzed items. The results of this study would provide the basic information for development of dietary interventions to improve diet find health.

Multi-stage Compression Molding Technology of Fast Curing CF/Epoxy Prepreg (속경화용 탄소섬유/에폭시 프리프레그의 다단 압축 성형기술)

  • PCM (Prepreg Compression Molding) process is a high-speed molding technology that can manufacture high-quality CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) parts. Compared to the autoclave process, it generates less waste and can significantly reduce cycle time, so various studies are being conducted in the aerospace and automobile industries. In this study, in order to improve the quality of the PCM process, a molding method was developed to increase the compression pressure of the press step by step according to the curing behavior of the prepreg. It was confirmed that this multi-stage compression molding technology is a good means to produce high-quality CFRP products and shorten cycle times. And, the laminated prepreg at room temperature was immediately put into the mold and preheated and molded at the same time, so that it could be molded without a separate preheating process. In addition, as a result of applying the same process conditions optimized for flat plate molding to three-dimensional shapes, a product similar to a flat plate in appearance could be made without the process of establishing process conditions.
