Design of Partial Discharge Pattern Classifier of Softmax Neural Networks Based on K-means Clustering : Comparative Studies and Analysis of Classifier Architecture (K-means 클러스터링 기반 소프트맥스 신경회로망 부분방전 패턴분류의 설계 : 분류기 구조의 비교연구 및 해석)

  • This paper concerns a design and learning method of softmax function neural networks based on K-means clustering. The partial discharge data Information is preliminarily processed through simulation using an Epoxy Mica Coupling sensor and an internal Phase Resolved Partial Discharge Analysis algorithm. The obtained information is processed according to the characteristics of the pattern using a Motor Insulation Monitoring System program. At this time, the processed data are total 4 types that void discharge, corona discharge, surface discharge and slot discharge. The partial discharge data with high dimensional input variables are secondarily processed by principal component analysis method and reduced with keeping the characteristics of pattern as low dimensional input variables. And therefore, the pattern classifier processing speed exhibits improved effects. In addition, in the process of extracting the partial discharge data through the MIMS program, the magnitude of amplitude is divided into the maximum value and the average value, and two pattern characteristics are set and compared and analyzed. In the first half of the proposed partial discharge pattern classifier, the input and hidden layers are classified by using the K-means clustering method and the output of the hidden layer is obtained. In the latter part, the cross entropy error function is used for parameter learning between the hidden layer and the output layer. The final output layer is output as a normalized probability value between 0 and 1 using the softmax function. The advantage of using the softmax function is that it allows access and application of multiple class problems and stochastic interpretation. First of all, there is an advantage that one output value affects the remaining output value and its accompanying learning is accelerated. Also, to solve the overfitting problem, L2-normalization is applied. To prove the superiority of the proposed pattern classifier, we compare and analyze the classification rate with conventional radial basis function neural networks.

  • This paper propose a clustering algorithm for mobile nodes that possible more efficient clustering using context-aware attribute information in adaptive learning. In typically, the data will be provided to classify interrelationships within cluster properties. If a new properties are treated as contaminated information in comparative clustering, it can be treated as contaminated properties in comparison clustering. In this paper, To solve this problems in this paper, we have new present a context-awareness learning based model that can analyzes the clustering attributed parameters from the node properties using accumulated information properties.

Approximate k values using Repulsive Force without Domain Knowledge in k-means

  • The k-means algorithm is widely used in academia and industry due to easy and simple implementation, enabling fast learning for complex datasets. However, k-means struggles to classify datasets without prior knowledge of specific domains. We proposed the repulsive k-means (RK-means) algorithm in a previous study to improve the k-means algorithm, using the repulsive force concept, which allows deleting unnecessary cluster centroids. Accordingly, the RK-means enables to classifying of a dataset without domain knowledge. However, three main problems remain. The RK-means algorithm includes a cluster repulsive force offset, for clusters confined in other clusters, which can cause cluster locking; we were unable to prove RK-means provided optimal convergence in the previous study; and RK-means shown better performance only normalize term and weight. Therefore, this paper proposes the advanced RK-means (ARK-means) algorithm to resolve the RK-means problems. We establish an initialization strategy for deploying cluster centroids and define a metric for the ARK-means algorithm. Finally, we redefine the mass and normalize terms to close to the general dataset. We show ARK-means feasibility experimentally using blob and iris datasets. Experiment results verify the proposed ARK-means algorithm provides better performance than k-means, k'-means, and RK-means.

Bootstrapping and DNA Marker Mining of ILSTS098 Microsatellite Locus in Hanwoo Chromosome 2

  • We describe tests for detecting and locating quantitative traits loci (QTL) for traits in Hanwoo. Lod scores and a permutation test have been described. From results of a permutation test to detect QTL, we select major DNA markers of ILSTS098 microsatellite locus in Hanwoo chromosome 2 for further analysis. K-means clustering analysis applied to four traits and eight DNA markers in ILSTS098 resulted in three cluster groups. We conclude that the major DNA markers of BMS1167 microsatellite locus in Hanwoo chromosome 2 are markers 105bp, 113bp and 115bp. Finally, bootstrap testing method has been adapted to calculate confidence intervals and for finding major DNA Markers.

  • A competitive learning network was proposed as unsupervised training method of remote sensing data, Its performance and computational re¬quirements were compared with conventional clustering techniques such as Se¬quential and K - Means. An airborne remote sensing data set was used to study the performance of these classifiers. The proposed algorithm required a little more computational time than the conventional techniques. However, the perform¬ance of competitive learning network algorithm was found to be slightly more than those of Sequential and K - Means clustering techniques.

  • In this paper, we present an algorithm for the analysis of poses while playing table-tennis using action recognition. We use Kinect as the 3D sensor and 3D skeleton data provided by Kinect for further processing. We adopt a spherical coordinate system and feature selected using k-means clustering. We automatically detect the starting and ending frame and discriminate the action of table-tennis into two groups of forehand and backhand swing. Each swing is modeled using HMM(Hidden Markov Model) and we used a dataset composed of 200 sequences from two players. We can discriminate two types of table tennis swing in real-time. Also, it can provide analysis according to similarities found in good poses.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical behaviors and structural integrity of the weldment of high strength steel by using an acoustic emission (AE) techniques. Monotonic simple tension and AE tests were conducted against the 3 kinds of welded specimen. In order to analysis the effectiveness of weldability, joinability and structural integrity, we used K-means clustering method as a unsupervised learning pattern recognition algorithm for obtained multi-variate AE main data sets, such as AE counts, energy, amplitude, hits, risetime, duration, counts to peak and rms signals. Through the experimental results, the effectiveness of the proposed method is discussed.

  • 이 논문에서는 가장 많이 알려진 tracking 알고리즘인 Particle-Filter 의 단점을 motion vector 를 기반으로 예측한 sampling 방법과 K-means clustering 을 이용하여 해결하려고 한다. Tracking 에서의 문제는 다중의 유사한 객체들이 merge 후 split 될 때 제대로 추적을 하지 못하고 한 객체만을 추적 한다는 데에 있었다. 그리고 split 되어 객체별로 추적이 가능하더라도 이전에 추적한 객체를 올바로 labeling 하지 못하는 문제가 있다는 것이다. 이 merge-split 문제는 개량된 K-means clustering 을 이용하고, labeling 문제는 motion vector 를 이용한 개량된 sampling 방법으로 개선하였다.

  • In this paper, we design a Multi-Fuzzy model by means of clustering method and genetic algorithms for a nonlinear system. In order to determine structure of the proposed Multi-Fuzzy model. HCM clustering method is used. The parameters of membership function of the Multi-Fuzzy are identified by genetic algorithms. We use simplified inference and linear inference as inference method of the proposed Multi-Fuzzy model and the standard least square method for estimating consequence parameters of the Multi-Fuzzy. Finally, we use some of numerical data to evaluate the proposed Multi-Fuzzy model and discuss about the usefulness.

  • Many Studies have been actively conducted on the early diagnosis of the crop pest utilizing IT technology. The purpose of the paper is to discuss on the image processing method capable of detecting the crop leaf pest prematurely by analyzing the image of the leaf received from the camera sensor. This paper proposes an algorithm of diagnosing leaf infection by utilizing an improved K means clustering method. Leaf infection grouping test showed that the proposed algorithm illustrated a better performance in the qualitative evaluation.
