  • Recently, laser processing technologies have been developed in many different industrial fields. The laser processing technologies are widely being applied such as laser assisted machining, cladding, heat treatment and coating. In the laser modules of the laser assisted machining system, laser lens is very important for accuracy and productivity of product. As the laser beam size, shape and focusing distance change, heat input energy of preheating point can be changed, the laser module of the laser assisted machining system should be equipped with various lenses differing beam size, beam shape and focusing distance. In this study, the rotary and linear laser modules are suggested. The finite element analysis is carried out to certify the static and dynamic stabilities of the developed laser modules. Finally, the rotary and linear laser modules have been fabricated successfully using the analysis results.

  • Let R be a domain with its field Q of quotients. An R-module M is said to be weak w-projective if $Ext^1_R(M,N)=0$ for all $N{\in}{\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$, where ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$ denotes the class of GV-torsionfree R-modules N with the property that $Ext^k_R(M,N)=0$ for all w-projective R-modules M and for all integers $k{\geq}1$. In this paper, we define a domain R to be w-Matlis if the weak w-projective dimension of the R-module Q is ${\leq}1$. To characterize w-Matlis domains, we introduce the concept of w-Matlis cotorsion modules and study some basic properties of w-Matlis modules. Using these concepts, we show that R is a w-Matlis domain if and only if $Ext^k_R(Q,D)=0$ for any ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$-divisible R-module D and any integer $k{\geq}1$, if and only if every ${\mathcal{P}}^{\dagger}_w$-divisible module is w-Matlis cotorsion, if and only if w.w-pdRQ/$R{\leq}1$.

  • Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) allows light transmission and the application of various colors that make it especially suitable for building-integrated PV (BIPV) application. In order to apply DSC module into windows, it has to be panelized: DSC module should be protected with reinforced glass to the entire surface. Up to date, it seems to be common to make double glazing with DSC modules with air gaps between the glasses and the DSC modules. Few research has been conducted on the characteristics of various glazing types with DSC modules. This study aims to analyze the electrical performance of DSC modules according to panelizing method for glazing unit with DSC modules. The prototype of the DSC glazing that applied silicone filler between DSC modules and glasses was developed. The electrical performances of this type of DSC glazing with the filler and rather conventional double glazing with DSC modules were compared. Their performances were measured using a solar simulator that is suitable for DSC performance testing. The results indicated that the electrical performance of the filler type DSC glazing improved by 7% compared to that of the conventional DSC double glazing type.

  • The failure of display modules in cellular phones due to drop impact depends on the materials, stiffnesses and shapes of the phones. In the early development stage of cellular phones, the behavior of the display modules due to drop impact is tested using jigs where the display modules are installed. In this study, jigs of cellular phones for drop impact test of OLED modules were designed. The material, thickness and number and orientation of ribs were considered as design variables. Jigs were designed in a way that responses of modules due to drop impact were similar to those of modules in cellular phones. The maximum principal stresses at the upper glasses of modules were considered as responses, which were analyzed using a commercial software ABAQUS/Explicit. The drop impact analysis at the height of 1.5 meters showed that the responses of OLED module in the developed jig were in a good agreement with those in cellular phone.

  • A pulsed power supply of 2.4MJ capacitor bank has been developed to make investigation into electric gun technology. It is made up of eight paralleled 300kJ modules, and can supply various shape of high current pulse by changing charging voltage, inductance, capacitance, and firing time of each module. The 300kJ module has been designed and fabricated for the maximum operating voltage of 22kV, peak current of 150kA, and pulse duration of 1msec. The experiments of the modules were done, and the equivalent circuit of the module was determined. The characteristics of the module were analyzed more deeply through the circuit simulation. The experiments of the paralleled modules with inductance of 20 $\mu$H and load resistance of 100 m$\Omega$ were performed, where the modules were discharged simultaneously and/or sequentially. The results of the experiments were analyzed. The 2.4MJ capacitor bank is currently used as the pulsed power supply for the ETCG (Electro Thermal Chemical Gun) research.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop experimental modules that would enhance science the process skills of secondary school students. The modules were composed of real-life materials on the subjects of light, movement, force, water, and heat. Each module consisted of four to six activities, and provided student worksheets and teacher guides. Physics teachers were invited to a workshop specially held to identify whether these modules would befit the improvement of student science process skills. A majority of the teachers believed the modules to be valuable instructional materials which might enhance student science process skills in the Korean secondary school science classes.

  • By utilizing known characterizations of ${\omega}$-Noetherian rings in terms of injective modules, we give more characterizations of ${\omega}$-Noetherian rings. More precisely, we show that a commutative ring R is ${\omega}$-Noetherian if and only if the direct limit of GV -torsion-free injective R-modules is injective; if and only if every R-module has a GV -torsion-free injective (pre)cover; if and only if the direct sum of injective envelopes of ${\omega}$-simple R-modules is injective; if and only if the essential extension of the direct sum of GV -torsion-free injective R-modules is the direct sum of GV -torsion-free injective R-modules; if and only if every $\mathfrak{F}_{w,f}(R)$-injective ${\omega}$-module is injective; if and only if every GV-torsion-free R-module admits an $i$-decomposition.

  • Crystalline silicon photovoltaic module certification began in 2007. "Renewable Energy Equipment Certification Scheme" was implemented until July 28, 2015. Then, the scheme was changed to "KS Certification Scheme" since July 29, 2015. A total of 2,331 models have been certified by 2016. The proportion of multi crystalline modules in certified products is higher than that of mono crystalline modules, and Korean modules account for 78% of the total certification modules. Chinese solar cells account for the highest percentage of 40% of the total modules and 62.4% of modules certified in 2016 use Chinese solar cells. With the development of technology, module power is continuously increasing, and efficiency is also rising. The average efficiency of mono crystalline module is 0.74% higher than the average of multi crystalline module. As a result of comparing domestic module with Chinese module, the highest efficiency of mono crystalline module and multi crystalline module and the average efficiency of mono crystalline module are higher than those of Chinese module, but the average efficiency of multi crystalline module is similar to that of Chinese module.

  • Let R be a commutative Noetherian (not necessarily local) ring, I an ideal of R and M a finitely generated R-module. In this paper, by computing the local cohomology modules and Ext-modules via the injective resolution of M, we proved that, if for an integer t > 0, dim$_RH_I^i(M){\leq}k$ for ${\forall}i$ < t, then $$\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=0}^{j}(Ass_RH_I^i(M))_{{\geq}k}=\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=0}^{j}(Ass_RExt_R^i(R/I^n,M))_{{\geq}k}$$ for ${\forall}j{\leq}t$ and ${\forall}n$ >0. This shows that${\bigcup}_{n>0}(Ass_RExt_R^i(R/I^n,M))_{{\geq}k}$ is a finite set for ${\forall}i{\leq}t$. Also, we prove that $\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=1}^{r}(Ass_RM/(x_1^{n_1},x_2^{n_2},{\ldots},x_i^{n_i})M)_{{\geq}k}=\displaystyle\bigcup_{i=1}^{r}(Ass_RM/(x_1,x_2,{\ldots},x_i)M)_{{\geq}k}$ if $x_1,x_2,{\ldots},x_r$ is M-sequences in dimension > k and $n_1,n_2,{\ldots},n_r$ are some positive integers. Here, for a subset T of Spec(R), set $T_{{\geq}i}=\{{p{\in}T{\mid}dimR/p{\geq}i}\}$.
