풍력발전기용 피치/요 베어링의 시험절차 개발 (Development on Test Procedure of Pitch and Yaw Bearings for Wind Turbine)

  • Test procedure for the design verification of wind turbine pitch and yaw bearings has been developed. Test items were selected to evaluate operational reliability of pitch and yaw bearings by considering loading and operational conditions, and by analyzing the design criteria of pitch and yaw bearings. The developed test items consisted of preliminary test, fatigue load test, extreme load test, low temperature environmental test and dismantling inspection after all the test were completed. Because it reflects the actual operational conditions of the pitch and yaw bearings, the developed test procedure has high reliability and can verify the basic design considerations in the international standard and guidelines.

유정압베어링 운동특성의 효과적인 예측을 위한 새로운 유막 해석방법의 개발 (Development of a New Analysis Method of Fluid Film for Efficient Estimate of the Moving Characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearings)

  • Hydrostatic bearings are widely used in precision machines due to their high motion guide accuracy, low friction and high load carrying capacity. It is very useful to estimate the moving characteristics of hydrostatic bearings in the design stage. A new method is suggested for the analysis of fluid film in hydrostatic bearings. A combined mesh of 8 node solid elements with negligible deformation resistance and spring-dashpot elements is used in conjunction with the user subroutine of ABAQUS to represent the fluid film. The mesh can be used to capture the deformation of the bearing structure as well as the varying properties of fluid film. Analysis results from the finite element model are compared with theoretical solutions, results from FLUENT analysis and some previous works. With this method, static and dynamic analyses of the system containing the bearings can be performed efficiently.

교량의 기존 받침을 활용하는 내진보강시스템의 유사동적 실험 (The Pseudo-Dynamic Test for the Seismic Retrofit System Utilizing Existing Bridge Bearings)

  • 본 연구에서는 교량의 내진보강을 위하여 기존 교량에 지진격리장치를 추가하는 접근법을 제안하였다. 기존 받침을 지진 격리받침으로 완전히 대체하는 접근법도 이미 제안되어 있지만 본 연구에서는 경제성과 안전성을 고려하여 기존 받침을 제거하지 않고 활용하도록 하였다. 이는 지진격리받침이 상부 수직하중을 분담하지 않고, 수평방향의 지진운동에 대한 주기 이동과 감쇠 역할만 한다. 이 접근법의 실험적 검증을 위해 실제 교량을 대상으로 납-적층고무받침(LRB)을 설계하고 실물크기로 기존 받침과 LRB를 제작하였다. 이 지진격리시스템의 가상 지진입력에 대한 응답은 유사동적실험으로 구하였다. 아울러 범용해석프로그램을 통한 지진응답해석과 비교하여 실험결과의 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 실험결과 제안된 지진격리시스템은 지진시 안정적인 거동을 보였다.

공작기계 LM 베어링의 정동적 특성을 반영하는 전산 모델링 (A Computational Modeling Reflecting Static and Dynamic Characteristics of LM Bearings for Machine Tools)

  • This paper suggests a computational modeling to reflect static/dynamic characteristics of LM bearings. A theoretical study for modeling LM bearings is elucidated by using the Hertz contact theory, the Lagrange's equation of motion, normal mode analysis and a calculation of equivalent moment center. The complex geometry of LM bearings is replaced by a simplified model with eight springs only. The suggested model reflects static and dynamic characteristics of LM bearings without any consideration for the shape of the bed or stages on the LM bearings. The modal experimental results are compared to the simulation results with the suggested computational modeling. The difference between the experiments and simulation is calculated less than 8%.

형상기억합금을 이용한 고속도로 강교량의 면진 (Seismic base isolation for highway steel bridges using shape memory alloys)

  • 기존교량의 내진성능개선 및 신설교량의 지진보호에 납-고무 베어링은 좋은 효과를 보여주고 있다. 그러나 납-고무 베어링은 사용상에 있어 문제점이 있으며, 이를 개선하기 위하여 형상기억합금(shape memory alloy)을 이용한 면진장치를 본 연구에서 제시하였다. 3경간 연속 고속도로 강교량의 지진해석을 통하여 납-고무베어링과 고무베어링 및 형상기억합금 와이어와의 조합 면진장치의 지진거동을 비교하였다. 해석결과 형상기억합금 와이어+고무베어링 시스템이 납-고무베어링과 거의 유사한 거동을 보여주었으며, 특히 제시된 면진장치는 상대변위의 제어 및 잔류변형에 있어 기존의 납-고무 베어링에 비해 성능이 우수했다.

  • Seismic isolation has been considered and utilized in various industries as a way to prevent huge damage on to structures by large earthquakes in various industries. The laminated Laminated rubber bearings is are most frequently used in seismic isolation systems. The structural Structural safety could not be assured unless the performance of the rubber bearing is not guaranteed for the life time of the structure under the consideration that the bearing is a critical structural member to sustain vertical loads in the seismically isolated structure. However, there are few studies on the deterioration problems of rubber bearings during their service life. The long term performance of the rubber bearings was not considered in past designs of seismically isolated structures. This study evaluates the long term performance and creep characteristics of laminated natural rubber bearings that are used in seismically isolated buildings. For the this study, a set of accelerated thermal aging tests and creep tests are were performed on real specimens. The experimental results show that the natural rubber bearings would have a stable change rate of change for durability under severe environmental conditions for a long time.

Rotordynamic Performance Measurements of An Oil-Free Turbocharger Supported on Gas Foil Bearings and Their Comparisons to Floating Ring Bearings

  • This paper presents the rotordynamic performance measurement of oil-free turbocharger (TC) supported on gas foil bearings (GFBs) for 2 liter class diesel vehicles and comparison to floating ring bearings (FRBs). Oil-free TC was designed and developed via the rotordynamic analyses using dynamic force coefficients from GFB analyses. The rotordynamics and performance of the oil-free TC was measured up to 85 krpm while being driven by a diesel vehicle engine, and compared to a commercial oil-lubricated TC supported on FRBs. The test results showed that the GFBs increased the rotor speed by ~ 20% at engine speeds of 1,500 rpm and 1,750 rpm, yielding the reduction of turbine input energy by more than 400 W. Incidentally, an external shock test on the oil-free TC casing was conducted at the rotor speed of 60 krpm, and showed a good capability of vibration damping due to the well-known dry friction mechanism of the GFBs.

적층고무받침의 가속 열 노화 동적특성 영향 (Effects of Accelerated Thermal Aging on Dynamic Properties of Laminated Rubber Bearings)

  • 격리장치로서 적층고무받침의 동적 특성은 고무 열 노화로 인한 미세 구조의 변화로 인해 악화 될 수 있다. 그 결과, 예기치 못한 지진의 발생으로 교량이나 건물들은 치명적이 손상을 입게 된다. 여기서, 적층 고무받침의 동적특성은 압축-전단하중 및 반복하중, 극한파괴시험은 열 노화 전 후에 시험하여 상호 비교하였다. 실험 결과, 적층고무받침에서의 열 노화 현상은 전단강성과 에너지의 감쇠 그리고 등가감소계수에 영향이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 적층고무받침의 열 노화에 의한 동적특성의 저하를 의미하고, 적층고무받침 설계시 고려해야할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.

공기 포일 스러스트 베어링의 하중지지능력에 관한 연구 (A study of the Load Capacity of Air Foil Thrust Bearings)

  • Air foil thrust bearings are the critical components available on high-efficiency turbomachinery which need an ability to endure the large axial force. Air foil bearings are self-acting hydrodynamic bearings that use ambient air as their lubricant. Since the air is squeezed by the edge of compliance-surface of bearing, hydrodynamic force is generated. In this study, we measured the air film thickness and obtained the minimum film thickness experimentally. To increase the maximum load capacity, compliance of sub-structure was controlled. From numerical analyses, it is seen that, if the air film thickness is distributed more uniformly by variable compliance, the thrust bearings can take more axial load.
