  • The engine exhaustive valve became essential as the important element. The dissimmilar welding method of exhaustive valve head to stem was asked for manufacturing the engine exhaustive valve, for which the electric resistance are welding has been conventionally used, resulting in poor quality of the welded joint. In this paper, not only the development of optimizing of friction welding with more reliability and more applicability but also the development of in-process real-time weld qudlity(such as strength and toughness) evaluation technique by acoustic emission for friction welding of the engine exhaustive valve(SUH3-SUH35 dissimilar steels) were perfomed. The high temperature(500, 500, 600$^{circ}$C) creep properties prediction of the friction welded joint of SUH3-SUH35 was investigated relating to the initial strain meethod(ISM) as a new approach, resulting in obtaining an experimental equation of creep life prediction.

Joint Development of Park and Green Space - A New Pattern and Key Points for Developing Parks and Greens Space in Shanghai-

  • Nowadays the parks in Shanghai tend to develop towards two directions. Small and medimn parks are being gradually transformed from closed management to open management, while large ones emphasize their nature of theme and nature of functions. Simultaneously, the number of large and open public green spaces has been significantly increased. Although the public green space does not adopt the management pattern for parks, there is almost no difference between public green space and ordinary parks so far as the functions and scales are concerned. Due to the fact that there is no obvious boundary between a public park and a public green space, this paper raises a suggestion to coordinate continuously their management and functions so that the distribution of and the connection between the urban green spaces can be more rational and more definite and a sound green network can be formed. Starting from the viewpoint of emphasizing accessibility to green spaces and enhancing the angle of linking green spaces, we aim at transforming a park system to a multifunctional green system, extending the effects and service radius of large green spaces, and strengthening the internal connections with the surrounding areas so that a high-quality green space can be formed with the connection of the green space network.

  • The purpose of the study was to explore effective satisfaction factors for continuous partnerships between fashion companies and artists. A questionnaire was developed by the researchers and results were collected from a total of 273 people who were working for a fashion company or working as an artist. Data was analyzed by the use of a frequency test, a reliability test, an exploratory factor analysis and a structure equation model analysis using AMOS 18.0. The results of the study were as follow. First, profitability and adequacy had significant effects, but awareness had no effect on confidence concerning the partnership. Second, awareness and profitability showed significant effects, but adequacy showed no effect on the flow among those in the partnership. Third, confidence had a significant effect on flow. Fourth, among the partnership factors, confidence and flow had significant effects on partnership satisfaction. Fifth, flow showed a significant effect on the intent for a continuous partnership, but confidence showed no effect.

  • This study presents the method for integrating the software assets acquired before the weapon system software reliability test was not formed in the weapon system software development and management manual through JTDLS Batch II case. This paper describes the problems for applying manual's direction to JTDLS Batch II project, and decisions and expected effects.

Analysis of the Coordination of the Trunk Tilting Angle and Bilateral Lower Limbs According to the Stirrups Length during Trot in Equestrian: Asymmetric Index Development of Overall Movement Index Algorithm (승마 속보 시 등자 길이에 따른 체간기울기와 양측 하지의 협응성 비교분석 : 비대칭 지수 및 전체이동지수 알고리즘 개발)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the coordination of the trunk tilting angle and bilateral lower limbs according to the stirrups length during trot in equestrian. Methods : Participants selected as subject were consisted of adult male(n=7, mean age: $45.00{\pm}3.78yrs$, mean height: $172.50{\pm}2.44cm$, mean body mass: $76.95{\pm}4.40kg$, mean, mean leg length: $97.30{\pm}2.60cm$). They were divided into 3-types of stirrups lengths(67 cm, 72 cm, 77 cm) during trot. The variables analyzed were consisted of the trunk front-rear angle, lower limb joint(Right Left hip, knee, ankle), overall movement index(OMI) of the lower limbs(thigh, shank, foot) and asymmetry index(AI%) during trot. Results : The average angle in hip and knee joint showed more extended posture according to the increase of stirrups lengths and ankle angle showed more plantarflexion posture according to increase of stirrups length during 1 stride in trot. Also, average angle showed more extended posture in right hip and ankle joint than that of left. The angle of knee joint didn't show significant difference statistically between right and left. Also asymmetric index in average angle of hip, knee and ankle joint didn't show significant difference statistically in between lower limbs, but hip joint showed higher asymmetric index in stirrup length of 77 cm and ankle joint showed higher asymmetric index in stirrup length of 67 cm than that of the others respectively. The FR angle in trunk of horse-rider showed relative backward leaning motions at stirrup length of 67 cm and 77 cm than that of stirrup length of 72 cm during stance and swing phase. OMI in thigh, shank, and foot limbs didn't show significant difference statistically according to the stirrups length of right and left lower limbs, but left lower limbs showed higher index than that of right lower limb. Stirrup length of 72 cm in shank and foot limbs showed higher index than that of stirrup length of 67 cm and 77 cm. But stirrup length of 72 cm showed higher asymmetric index than that of stirrups length of 67 cm and 77 cm. Conclusions : When considering the above, 72 cm(ratio of lower limb 74.04%) stirrup lengths could be useful in posture correction and stabilization than 67cm(ratio of lower limb 68.69%) and 77 cm(ratio of lower limb 79.18%) stirrup lengths during trot in horse back riding.

CLINICAL STUDY OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT ANKYLOSIS (악관절 강직증에 관한 임상적 연구)

  • Temporomandibular joint ankylosis is the movemental obstacle of mandible which depend on proliferation of bony or fibrous tissue in temporomandibular joint structure by various causes. In order to treat this, various surgical methods have been performed, but no operative methods have been produced consistently successful results. This research has been performed to the patients who had been operated due to temporomandibular joint ankylosis by studying classification, cause, onset, duration, anesthesia and treatment method, symptom, change of mouth opening, complication through medical record, X-ray, follow-up for being a help to proper selection of treatment method and evaluation of prognosis. The author obtained the following results by analyzing 44 cases among patients who had been operated due to temporomandibular joint ankylosis during 8 year hospitalization from 1986 to 1993 in Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Seoul National University Hospital. 1. The occurrence was in the order of below 10, 20's, 10's, 30's. The average of occurrence was 12.95. Illness period was 50.0% within 10 years and 50% beyond 10 years. The average period of illness was 13.33 years. 2. Trauma occupied 54.5% of causes and inflammation occupied 45.5%. Men had more occurrences due to trauma and there was no difference in case of inflammation. 3. In nasotracheal intubations for general anesthesia, the cases of using fiberoptic laryngoscope occupied 40.9%, direct or blind nasotracheal intubation occupied 40.9% and the cases of using tracheostomy occupied 18.2%. 4. In operative approaching methods, submandibular & preauricular approach were mainly applied, and in operative methods, high condylectomy(Group I) occupied 11.4%, arthroplasty without interpositional material following condylectomy or gap ostectomy(Group II) occupied 11.4%, with interpositional material following high condylectomy (Group III) occupied 40.9%, and using condylar reconstruction following condylectomy or gap ostectomy(Group IV) occupied 36.6%. 5. In change of mouth opening reformed after surgery, Group III showed the best result of average 23.5mm, Group IV showed 16.3mm, Group I showed 14.9mm and Group II showed 10.2mm of reformation. Summarizing the results as written above, it is considered that early treatment is important as soon as possible in Temporomandibular joint ankylosis. It is recommended in surgical method what can lead to postoperative early movement maintaining anatomaical & functional form, and then the development of various surgical methods will be requested.

Fracture Behaviors of Jointed Rock Model Containing an Opening Under Biaxial Compression Condition (이축압축 조건에서 공동이 존재하는 유사 절리암반 모델의 파괴 거동)

  • Underground construction such as tunneling can induce damages on the surrounding rock mass, due to the stress concentration of in situ stresses and excessive energy input during construction sequence, such as blasting. The developed damage on the rock mass can have substantial influence on the mechanical and hydraulic behaviors of the rock masses around a tunnel. In this study, investigation on the generation of damage around an opening in a jointed rock model under biaxial compression condition was conducted. The joint dip angles employed are 30, 45, and 60 degrees to the horizontal, and the synthetic rock mass was made using early strength cement and water. From the biaxial compression test, initiation and propagation of tensile cracks at norm to the joint angle were found. The propagated tensile cracks eventually developed rock blocks, which were dislodged from the rock mass. Furthermore, the propagation process of the tensile cracks varies with joint angle: lower joint angle model shows more stable and progressive tensile crack propagation. The development of the tensile crack can be explained under the hypothesis that the rock segment encompassed by the joint set is subjected to the developing moment, which can be induced by the geometric irregularity around the opening in the rock model. The experiment results were simulated by using discrete element method PFC 2D. From the simulation, as has been observed from the test, a rock mass with lower joint angle produces wider damage region and rock block by tensile cracks. In addition, a rock model with lower joint angle shows progressive tensile cracks generation around the opening from the investigation of the interacted tensile cracks.

The Study on Weathering Hollows Developed on the Coast of Dapyeong-ri, Sacheon-si (사천시 다평리 해안에서 발달한 풍화혈에 관한 연구)

  • Weathering hollows which develop on various rocks are the terrain whose lithological characteristics and formation of the bed rock is under active discussion. The shore in Dapyeong-ri, Sacheon-si has alternation of strata of pelite and sandstone, and the weathering hollows develop on the shore platform and the sea cliff where sandstone is exposed. To analyze the development characteristics of weathering hollows by development of joints, interpenetration of veins and physical and chemical features of the stone, the study conducted a topographic investigation, XRD analysis and an observation using a polarizing microscope. As the result of the investigation and analysis, tafoni and gnamma are spread in the same area and new tafoni is being formed as the existing weathering hollows are destroyed by the expansion and growth of the joint. The vein, which was found to be a quartz vein, may accelerate the development of weathering hollows combining with the joint but may also hamper their growth if the veins are penetrating perpendicularly. It is generally known that weathering hollows develop regardless of the type of rocks, however, the analysis on the lithological features show that the development is limited on the fractured and broken rocks.

A Study on the Nondestructive Test Method for Adhesively Bonded Joint in Motor Case Assembly (연소관 조립체의 접착 체결부에 대한 비파괴 시험 방법 연구)

  • In the present paper, the nondestructive test method was suggest to establish the bonding status of a motor case assembly composed of a steel motor case, adiabatic rubber layer and an ablative composite tube with strain data, AE(acoustic emission) signals and UT(ultrasonic test) data. And, finite element analysis was conducted to verify quantitatively the bonding status of motor case assembly under inner pressure loading. The bonding status could be judged whether the bonding status is perfect or contact condition by the data correlation study with AE signals and strain data measured from air pressure test. And, to classify the bonding status of motor case and rubber layer among bonding layers, UT method was also applied. From this study, the bonding status could be classified and detected into fourth types for all bonding layers as follows: (1) initial un-bonding, (2) perfect do-bonding during an air pressure test, (3) partially de-bonding during an air pressure test, and (4) perfect bonding.

  • This paper is to describe the characteristics of the Small Towns development in Rural China. The policies to develop Small Towns have been induced for solving the problem raised during the rural reform. The changes and adaptations of rural reform processes are integrated in Small Towns. The characteristics in the process of development of Ronggang, a small town, are as follows. First, it was the fund raised by rural inhabitants that was used for construction and development of the small town, Second, by implementing the policies of selective migration, the inhabitants of the small town have been differentiated from those of rural region. Third, the activities of commerce and industry of Ronggang have progressed to joint-stock system. Fourth, Having the spatial characteristics of self- development, the small town has grown and is expected to grow higher hierarchy of settlement system.
