  • The purpose of this study was to investigate joint torques of lower body segments on professional golfers. Three dimensional swing analysis was conducted on the seven subjects. Each subject was asked to swing with 45 inches of Callaway driver, where two force plates (9286AA, Kistler, Switzerland) were built, with his normal speed and tempo. The resultant joint moments of the lower extremities were computed using the kinematic variables of the segments, anthropometric measures and the ground reaction force data by inverse dynamics method. Based on the results of this study, the following conclusions were drawn; It was found that the left ankle joint torque at 3rd phase was increased toward extension on the X-axis and abduction on the Y-axis. The left knee joint torque was alternated from flexion to extension direction in order to lower down the body weight at the beginning of the downswing. The lumbar joint torque was alternated from flexion to extension in order to speed up the upper body rotation which could increase the club head speed ultimately.

  • The Mechanisms of whole body vibration on the human body is not clearly presented despite of the research result and there is not enough research that shows the effects of vibration on the kinetic changes of the lower joint. Therefore, this study focuses on finding out which lower joint is related with kinetic vertical jump ability. Five male and five female who didn't have orthopedic history were selected as the subjects. The subjects carried out three squat jumps before and after 5minutes of 30Hz whole body vibration. We have utilized a 3D motion analysis system to analyze the kinetic changes of the lower joint in the vertical jump. The height of subjects squat jump was improved after whole body vibration treatment. Also, the lower joint moment and power increased. However, there were no statistically significant changes in GRF, hip joint moment and power after the whole body vibration proved to have positive effect on the ankle and knee joints but showed negative effect on the hip joint.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate and analyse the internal structural organisation of UK's urban fringe management initiatives and its roles. Caerphilly Mountain Countryside Service and Thames Chase Community Forest Initiatives were investigated. The Caerphilly Mountain Countryside Service Initiative operates through a tiered structure consisting of the Caerphilly Mountain Joint Committee, the Officers' Working Party, and the management team. The Thames Chase Community Forest Initiative is operated through a tiered structure comprising the Thames Chase Joint Committee and the management team. Although the role of each management initiative is invested differently in certain internal organisational bodies, such as the governance body and the management body, what is common to all the urban fringe management initiatives is that the governance body within each management initiative tries to speak with one voice to bring about an effective operation process, and the management team employs a variety of devices to secure the enrolment of a variety of interest groups in its operational processes.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the difference in biomechanical variation and pattern of the lower limb between planned and unexpected termination, which is related to the prevention of fatal fall in the elderly. Therefore, selected twenty subjects for each group which composed of females(age: $73.5{\pm}4.63$ year, height: $153.2{\pm}6.46$ cm, body mass: $58.98{\pm}5.82$ kg) and women(age: $23.4{\pm}2.5$ year, height: $164.65{\pm}3.9$ cm, body mass: $58.47{\pm}5.53$ kg) in their twenties. As a result, lower limb's extension moment and power were increased significantly in statistics(p<.05). Also, knee joint power showed instant changes from concentric contraction to eccentric contraction and hip joint power from eccentric contraction to concentric contraction. During unexpected termination there were dramatical increase in eccentric contraction and power(p<.05). In both planned and unexpected termination, ankle joint moment were higher in young group, but the moment of the hip joint were higher in the elderly group(p<.05). In contrast to younger group, there were no changes in knee extension moment in elderly group(p<.05). but showed relatively higher hip joint extension moment and power(p<.05).

  • This study identifies the common problems faced by the owners of strata titles, the Management Corporation, the Joint Management Body, the Commissioner of Building (COB) as well as the Managing Agent being the stakeholders in managing strata properties. The methods employed are qualitative in nature. Analysis is done based on reports published by the relevant authorities dealing with strata residential properties as well as the case law as reported in the two leading journals in Malaysia such as the Malayan Law Journal and the Current Law Journal. The types and nature of problems are derived from the annual reports. The extent of the problems is determined based on the figures and supported by observation and interviews with the COB, being the agency directly involved in overseeing and monitoring strata properties management. The findings show that a substantial number of problems exist in the management of strata properties despite a law that allows the owners to self-managed their own properties. Having stated the status quo concerning the problems, the study also looks at the various means of resolving disputes as exist under the Malaysian housing system. The study proposes that alternative dispute resolution (ADR) modes are more appropriate in ensuring the sustainability of strata living and management.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare gait patterns during pregnancy. Because of the changes in hormone levels and anatomical changes such as body mass, body-mass distribution, joint laxity, and musculotendinous strength that result from pregnancy, it was possible that there would be certain gait deviations associated with these changes. Three-dimensional gait analyses were performed from a self-selected pace, and six subjects(height : $163{\pm}5.3cm$, mass : $61.3{\pm}3.80kg$, $65.3{\pm}5.14kg$, $70.2{\pm}4.98kg$) participated in the three times(the early, middle and last years). 7 cameras(Proreflex MCU-240, Qualisys) and 2 force plates (Type 9286AA, Kistler) were used to acquire raw data. The parameters were calculated and analyzed with Visual-3D and Joint moments computed using inverse dynamics. In conclusion, pregnant women's gait patterns were changed during pregnancy period because pregnancy makes them physical changes. The main changes were joint moments and kinematic factors during pregnancy period. The pregnancy transformed normal gait pattern Into toe out position. Therefore, exercise programs to improve muscle activity were necessary where joint moments were small. The development of simulator should be studied for pregnant women's tailored shoes and accessories in future.
