  • This study was conducted to investigate the radiation protection, awareness, and attitude of radiological technologists in the mammography room due to the low energy use of breast imaging. Data collection was performed by 222 independent radiological technologists in the breast and breast clinic of six hospitals except Jeju Island. The independent sample t-test and oneway variance analysis were performed. As a result, it was found that the lower the number of men(p<0.05), the age of 30s(p<0.05), the marriage(p<0.05), the work experience of more than 10 years(p<0.05), the working hours of 8 hours(p<0.01), the less the impact of radiation(p<0.01), the more important it was to radiation defense. appear. This is thought to be influenced by the work specificity and work environment of the mammography room, and it will be used as a basic data to raise awareness and act on the exposure through analysis with other factors.

  • Backgrounds: Occupations are grouped on the basis of similarity in tasks and duties performed. Standard occupational classification (SOC) is a tool for organizing all professions into a clearly defined set of groups according to the tasks and duties undertaken in the respective jobs. Objectives: The major objective of this study is to comprehensively review how a SOC system is used in occupational and safety fields such as surveillance, exposure monitoring, occupational epidemiological study, management of carcinogens and analysis of occupational accidents. Methods: We summarized the cases, policies and regulations used in SOC systems in advanced countries and as they appear in articles Results: We found that SOC systems have been widely used in various areas of occupational safety and health in the US, the UK, Finland, and the EU. In general, it is highly common to use SOC in the analysis of occupational accidents and diseases and to identify factors causing those accidents. The SOC system is also used not only for surveillance of exposure to hazardous agents and occupational health, but to manage carcinogens. In order to adjust the effects of a particular job, SOC is used in the general population health area. The Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) has never used or introduced an SOC system. There have been no cases of the application of a SOC system to either the occupational safety and health field or to health surveillance for the general population in Korea. Conclusions: We suggested a need to introduce an SOC system in several occupational safety and health activities, such as work environment measurement, analysis of occupational accidents, specific physical examination and surveillance systems, etc.

A total of 592 urban residents, ages of 20 to 59, completed a self-reported questionnaire including WHO QOL Scale-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF), Health Promoting Life Style Profile II (HPLP), Personal Competence of Health Care Scale (PCHC), and self-efficacy scale. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions by SPSS 18.0. Results: The mean scores were 53.71 in QOL, and subscales were 14.41 in physical health, 13.31 in psychological, 13.87 in social relationship, and 12.12 in environment. There were significant differences by age groups, gender, education, family income, job, and present illness in QOL. QOL were significantly associated with HPLP, PCHC, and self-efficacy. The results of multiple regression indicated that HPLP, PCHC, marital state, and self-efficacy in the 20s, HPLP, self-efficacy, age, marital state, religion, and PCHC in the 30s, HPLP, PCHC, self-efficacy, and family income in the 40s, and HPLP, PCHC, self-efficacy, and gender in the 50s were statistically significant in predicting QOL. Conclusion: It is important to develop distinct programs by age for improving of quality of life for adults.

  • This study used a qualitative research method to derive meaning through intensive interviews on stress, focusing on the subjective perceptions and experiences of college students about COVID-19. The study participants were 12 college students enrolled at University Y in Gyeonggi-do, and the questionnaires were 'How has your daily life changed due to COVID-19?' and 'What changes have you made in your environment due to COVID-19?', 'What kind of comfort/inconvenience did you experience due to COVID-19?'As a result of analyzing the stress experienced by university students due to COVID-19, the stress factors were found to be four types: concerns about academic quality, anxiety about disconnection from social relationships, burden due to decrease in jobs (part-time jobs), and health and safety anxiety. The results of this study, it seems that the university's efforts to optimize online classes, seeking social relationships through non-face-to-face, preparing policies for job creation for college students, and health management measures due to COVID-19 should be discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the issues concerning feminine forms of nouns which indicates occupations in French. In distinguishing the French masculine and feminine forms, many linguistic issues about feminizing occupational nouns became a hot issue among scholars. However, reasonably logical and effective methods to solve such issues are not suggested yet. The first part is focused on how the feminine forms were historically altered to investigate changing process of nouns representing jobs. Through this, we found that the occupational nouns' feminization is quite related to the social big changes, the woman's social condition and reality reflecting on languages periodically. We discussed the important factors deciding such changes, such as semantic, linguistic and sociolinguistic causes, in the second part of the study. And we mentioned issues which can be suggested in investigating grammatical rules of the feminine form of occupational nouns. The last part is on plans to learn the feminine form of occupations in an effective way. The language is being developed while it is closely related with social and cultural environment of people who use the languages. In this meaning, occupational nouns' feminization is a good example which can reflect chronological and social changes. Through the thesis, we know that it is not enough to provide explanation of changes of feminine occupational nouns about the woman's social roles' alteration. We just hope it can be at least a small help in doing more systematic and deeper analysis which can show the fact that languages reflect the phenomenon of social changes.

  • This study is a descriptive research of paramedic students who could be exposed to blood and body fluids during the clinical practicum to analyze the risk factors. From June 1 to June 30, 2018, 172 paramedic students who attended the University in Jeolla-do region were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The general characteristics of subjects, the exposure level of blood and body fluids, and etc were obtained for frequency and percentage analysis. The study found that 72.7 percent of students had experience to blood or body fluids exposure during the clinical practicum. Except for any needle injury, 70.4 percent of student were exposed to blood or body fluids. 28.8 percent of them which was the highest percentage of injection injury were exposed during the venous blood draw. 36.5 percent of exposure were related to wound dressings which was the highest percentage related to clinical procedures. 71.2 percent of students mentioned that they did not report this exposure because 68.5 percent students thought that it has no danger. According to the survey on hepatitis B, 50.6% of students had antibodies, but 31.8 percent of students did not confirm that the antibodies were formed. Even though paramedic students do practical training in a hazardous environment with repeated exposure to blood and body fluids due to the nature of job characteristics, the systemic infection control education program is insufficient. In order to prevent exposure and to protect paramedic students who do practical training with patients, it is necessary to make more systematic and active efforts in the continuous monitoring and the preventive education.

This study aims to develop performance indicators as a rational tool to improve management of the National Library of Korea for its continuous growth and development. The performance indicators are based on the BSC(Balanced Scorecard), which is useful for linking the organization's strategies in response to changes in the library environment with performance measurement. As a result, 4 BSC-based perspectives (① Resources, Access, Infrastructure Perspective, ② Usage Perspective, ③ Efficiency Perspective, ④ Potential and Growth Perspective), 19 key success factors, and 71 performance indicators were developed for the National Library of Korea. Also, differences in perception of performance indicators by ranks and job duties at the National Library of Korea were analyzed.
