The Effectiveness of a Program for Enhancing Parent Education and Counseling Competence for Child Care Teachers (보육교사를 위한 부모교육 및 상담능력 강화 프로그램의 효과)

  • The present study employed a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design to evaluate the effectiveness of a teacher education program for child care teachers. Twenty-seven teachers were randomly assigned to intervention and control groups with 12 and 17 teachers in each group. Teachers in the intervention group participated in the program. After termination of the program, differences between pre- and post-tests were examined in regards to teachers' emotional regulation, efficacy, parent-teacher communication and job satisfaction. There were four major findings. First, self-reported teachers'emotional regulation, teachers'efficacy and job satisfaction were significantly improved in the intervention group, but not in the control group. Second, parent-teacher communication difficulty was significantly reduced in the intervention group, but not in the control group. These findings emphasize the importance of the teachers' positive characteristics in improving the outcome of preschoolers.

A Study on the Development of ICT Curriculum for Private Security Workers (민간경비 종사자의 ICT직무교육과정 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study developed the ICT curriculum focusing on apartment security guards and analyzed the actual application results. We developed the educational contents and it designed ICT job courseware for elder education by considering and that designed in consideration of the computer attitudes and physical and cognitive characteristics of the elderly. The educational program was applied to the experimental group and the satisfaction and the educational effect were analyzed through the pre and post test results. As a result of the analysis, the satisfaction level of the education program was higher than the average of 4.00 points. The elderly informal education program was examined by using the qualitative assessment test tool before and after the application of the education program. Internet self-efficacy of experiment group, improvement of internet utilization ability, usage of internet use, personal information willingness, life correction, elimination of conflict among generations, self-confidence, and internet stress increased statistically significantly. These results suggest that the "Private Expense ICT Job Training" program developed in this study can be effective for elderly informatization and can be applied to other elderly education programs and contribute to promotion.

The Effects of Mindfulness-Positive Psychology EAP Program on Stress and Well-Being of Postal Workers (우정공무원의 스트레스와 웰빙에 대한 마음챙김-긍정심리 EAP 프로그램의 효과)

  • Objective : This study aimed to develop a customized EAP program for post office workder, incorporating mindfulness and positive psychology, and to test the effectiveness of the intervention on job burnout and well-being of the postal workers. Methods : Participants were currently working postal employees and were recruited voluntarily through the website of the Korea post human resources development institute. A total of 42 workers participated in the program until the end and completed preprogram and post program questionnaires. Results : The results showed that the mindfulness-positive psychology EAP program significantly improved the participants' mindfulness (t=-5.021, p<0.001), job burnout (t=5.824, p<0.001), self-esteem (t=-4.852, p<0.001), positive affect (t=-4.534, p<0.001), negative affect (t=5.635, p<0.001), and body tension (t=6.355, p<0.001), with statistically significant effects on all measures. Conclusion : The results indicated that the mindfulness-positive psychology EAP class had a significantly positive effect on increasing mindfulness, self-esteem, and positive affect and decreasing job burnout, negative affect, and body tension among postal workers, demonstrating the usefulness of an integrated approach.

The Evaluation of Worker's Job Stress Status in Workplace of a Local Area (일개 지역 사업장 근로자의 직무스트레스수준 평가)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the worker's job stress status in the workplace of a local area. Method: Data were collected from October to December, 2007. The subjects were 208 workers at 2 work sites in Busan Metropolitan area, who were examined using Job-Strain-Model Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 Win Program to get the percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, ANOVA. Results: The results of this study were as follows: In the mean sub-factors job stress level, the mean of job demand was $28.7{\pm}4.4$(median 29.0), the mean of job discretion was $54.7{\pm}8.2$(median 54.0), the mean of social support was $21.8{\pm}2.9$(range:8-32). This study's subjects were appeared as active group with relatively higher score of job demand and job discretion than the average value of those. There was no statistically significant difference of general characteristics among the different job strain groups. There was statistically significant difference with of social supports among the different job strain groups. Conclusion: In conclusion, the subjects of this study's were active group. Thus, it is suggested that it is be necessary to repeated the education of the job task work for active group with high score of job demand and job discretion.

Effect of Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Health Manager on Organizational Commitment (사업장 보건관리자의 직무스트레스 및 직무만족도가 조직애착에 미치는 영향)

  • To improve work environment for health managers, it was investigated about effect of job stress, psychosocial stress and job satisfaction of health managers on job commitment. The sample used in this study consisted of 166 persons of industrial health managers. The data were collected with self-administered questionnaires between November 2007 and January 2008, and the results analyzed with ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Job stress was evaluated by using a Korean Occupational Stress Scale(KOSS), and Psychosocial wellbeing index-Short Form(PWI-SF) was used for a psychosocial stress level evaluation. Organized commitment evaluated loyalty, compensation, welfare, job immersion, external employment opportunity, total agreement with employer and personal ability development. In path analyses, interpersonal conflict, lack of reward, psychosocial distress were associated with job satisfaction. And psychosocial distress, job demand, job insecurity, organizational system, occupational climate were associated with organizational commitment. In considering above findings, the health program for psychosocial distress, improvement of job demand, job insecurity, organizational system, occupational climate would be implemented to increase organizational commitment of Health manager.

The Influence of Job Characteristics and Job Stress on Children's Hospital Nurses' Turnover Intention (직무특성과 직무스트레스가 아동병원 간호사의 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the influence of children's hospital nurses' job characteristics and job stress on turnover intention. Method: The subjects were 148 nurses who have been working in 6 children's hospitals located in G city. Measurement tools used for this study included job characteristics were created by Lee, and modified by Hong, and job stress tool developed Kim & Ku and modified by Choi. And the tools used for assessing turnover intention were created by Mobley and Becker and modified by Kim. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, the independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson' Correlation and regression on SPSS 21.0 program. Result: Job challenge and job fitness among the sub-areas of job characteristics, job stress and salary were identified as factors influencing turnover intention. These factors explained 36.5% of variance of turnover intention. Conclusion: In conclusion, this results can be used to help the children's hospitals creates an environment where nurses can enhance Job challenge and job fitness also, reduce job stress which lead to turnover rate and turnover intention.

Job Stress and Musculoskeletal Disorder in Seoul City's School Foodservice Employees (서울시 학교급식시설 조리종사자의 직무 스트레스와 근골격계질환)

  • Purpose: School foodservice employees (SFEs) could be exposed to the risk of musculoskeletal disease and of job stress due to their job characteristics. This study was to evaluate the level of job stress and the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms (WRMS) in Seoul city's SFEs, and to determine associations between job stress and WRMS. Methods: The study design was cross-sectional, and 975 SFEs were recruited. Self-administered questionnaire included the 'Korean occupational stress scale-short form' and the 'KOSHA GUIDE H-9-2012' instrument to evaluate the job stress and WRMS, respectively. SFEs' medians of job stress were compared to the reference values of published study in Korean workers. Results: The participants reported greater levels of job demand and physical environment than the general Korean population. WRMS were reported in 89.0% of participants at any body part, and 41.1% were presumed to need for medical intervention. High levels of job demand and of physical environment were significantly associated with WRMS. Conclusion: Subscales of job demand and physical environment were relatively high in SFEs and those were related to the occurrence of WRMS. To reduce the WRMS prevalence, a job stress management program focused on job demand and physical environment may be required.

Effect of Career Decision-making Self-efficacy and Career Identity by Health Science College Students on Job Preparation Behavior (일부 보건계열 대학생들의 진로결정자기효능감 및 진로정체감이 취업준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study is designed to evaluate the influential factors of career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity by health science college students on their job preparation beaviors. Methods: The total 714 questionnaires were distributed to juniors and seniors of health science college, and the result was statistically analyzed through IBM SPSS statistics 20.0. Results: 1. There was no significant difference of job preparation behavior between male students and female students, and while seniors showed highly active job preparation behaviors, those who had high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, and outgoing personality had highly active job preparation behaviors. 2. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement, outgoing personality, and high expected salaries showed high career decision-making self-efficacy level. 3. Students with high satisfaction level toward their major studies, high academic achievement and highly outgoing personality showed high level of career identity. 4. Subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy were collection of job information, goal setting, planning, and self-assessment, and all of them showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. 5. Among subsidiary factors of career decision-making self-efficacy, "self-understanding" and understanding of job information showed correlation with job preparation behaviors. Conclusion: For improvement on career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of health science college students, individual support, psychological support, educational support and other supports regarding job employment to provide wide paths and methods for job preparation behaviors are essential, and through various job employment education program and graded counseling, job preparation behaviors shall be promoted as a great strategy.

A convergence study on the effects of positive psychological capital on job performance and job satisfaction of hair beauty service workers (헤어미용 서비스 종사자의 긍정심리자본이 직무성과와 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 대한 융합적 연구)

  • This study was conducted to provide basic data to promote hair beauty service education by identifying the difference in the effect of positive psychological capital on job performance and job satisfaction of hair salon workers. For this purpose, in order to empirically verify the effect of positive psychological capital on job performance and job satisfaction of hair salon workers, 280 people engaged in hair salon workers in Gwangju, Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do were targeted. As a result of the study, positive psychological capital of hair and hair salon workers affects job performance and job satisfaction, and among the sub-factors of positive psychological capital, hope and optimism appear to affect both job performance and job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to strengthen the positive psychological capital of hair salon workers, it is necessary to develop a convergence program development and strategy that can enhance job performance and job satisfaction and apply it to the hair beauty service field.

The Effect of Job Resources of Hospital Workers on Presenteeism: The Mediating Effect of Job Embeddedness (병원 종사자의 직무자원이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향: 직무착근도의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of job resources of hospital workers on presenteeism and to verify the mediating effect of job embeddedness based on this. Participants included 301 hospital workers form hospitals located in B city. Date was collected form July 10 to August 10, 2023. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Baron and Kenny's three-step hierarchical regression and Sovel's test method using the SPSS 26.0 program. In this study, it was found that there was a correlation between job resources, job embeddedness and presenteeism of hospital workers, job resources and job embeddedness influenced negatively on presenteeism, and it was confirmed that job embeddedness partially mediated in the relationship between job resources and presenteeism. Based on this, in order to reduce presenteeism of hospital workers. it was suggested to improve job integrity by providing sufficient job resources institutionally an administratively and providing continuous educational opportunities.
