  • Purpose : Nurses' knowledge regarding advance directives may affect their administration of and confidence towards end of life care. This study aimed to describe the relationships of knowledge, confidence, and learning needs with advance directives among hospital nurses. Method : This cross-sectional study was performed at a tertiary university hospital in Seoul between September 25 and October 14, 2017. Convenience sampling was used to recruit nurses who provided bedside care and had at least 1 year of clinical experience. We used a validated self-report questionnaire. Results : The mean score of knowledge, confidence and learning needs were $5.00{\pm}1.73$, $29.81{\pm}7.52$, and $64.54{\pm}8.48$ respectively. Hospital nurses' knowledge, confidence and learning needs were significantly different according to age, job position, educational level and perceived advance directives. Knowledge regarding advance directives was significantly associated with confidence (r = .27, p < .001) and learning needs (r = .16, p = .005). Conclusion : Knowledge regarding advance directives was relatively low compared to the findings of previous studies. Therefore, nurses should be knowledgeable and encouraged to initiate advance directives. It is necessary to develop a standardized educational program regarding advance directives based on Korean cultures.

  • The Implementation Semi-Public Management System of Intra-City Bus brings improvements of the position stability, work environment and welfare of the bus drivers. As these benefits prevent drivers' job changes, average age of the drivers increases. Some side effects such as fatality increase after the implementation of the new system are becoming social problems. To minimize such problems, it is necessary to prepare the measurements reflected drivers' age increase and driving characteristics of old drivers to decrease traffic accidents of intra-city buses. The existing measurements are mostly simple policy. To get over such limitations, this study grasped driving characteristics by surveys and driving aptitude test targeting old drivers and non-old drivers who brings about traffic accidents actually. As a result, the characteristics of the old drivers were understood precisely. The measures of decrease of the traffic accidents are suggested by the analysis of the behavior characteristics of the old drivers through the structural equation model.

For the original purpose of evaluation, this tool made by job analysis and comparative studies with the existing appraisal standards. It can be the standards for evaluation of teacher's wholly duties on ICT applied education and proper self-evaluation tool for improvement of teacher's ability on ICT utilizing instruction. I processed measurement value of participant of Gwangju and Jeollanamdo area in this system and analyzed the level of teacher's abilities using ICT, a sex gap, regional difference, duty position difference and education career difference etc.

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to identify differences of duties, tasks, and task elements of care helpers between long term care (LTC) facilities and client's home (CH), and to provide data for the development of educational programs and policies. Methods: This study was a descriptive investigation; the subjects of the study were 418 care helpers. Duties, tasks, and task elements were measured using the framework proposed by Shin et al. (2012). Data were analyzed by t-test using PASW 18.0. Results: All of the jobs were statistically significant differences between LTC and CH. Dietary assistance and Daily work assistance were more frequently in CH, and the frequency of other tasks was higher in LTC than CH. Tasks with higher-reported difficulty by those who worked in LTC were as follows: personal hygiene, position change and movement, exercise and activity assistance, safety care, communication assistance, dietary assistance, environment management, daily work assistance, emergency prevention, early detection and speedy reporting, and dementia patient care. Conclusion: These findings suggest that training for care helpers of each facility type will be differentiated. Tasks and task elements reported by care helpers were modified and added to the standard textbook.

For this study, RISS, KISS, NDSL, and National assembly library databases were searched using the key words 'nurse' and 'compassion satisfaction' or 'professional quality of life' and 'nurse'. Eighteen papers on compassion satisfaction of nurses were reviewed. This was a non-experimental study (100%), and included hospital nurses (100%). The general characteristics of interest pertaining to compassion satisfaction were age, position, career, educational status, and etc. The variables with respect to compassion satisfaction were burn out, compassion fatigue, job satisfaction, resilience, and etc. The findings of this study provide preliminary data on research trends in the compassion satisfaction of nurses. Nursing managers need to maximize strategies to enhance compassion satisfaction of nurses. A qualitative study and a development of a program focused on compassion satisfaction are recommended for future research.

  • In this paper, We purpose the basic data for the success of effective CPR using mirror in order to increase the quality of chest compression during CPR. The subject of this study was an experimental study based on a randomized crossover design of 28 people who completed the BLS Health Care Provider, and collected data were analyzed by SPSS Ver. 23.0 for Win statistics program. As the research methods, depth, speed, compression to relaxation ratio, arm angle and easiness during the chest compression were measured. Taken together, the results of this study showed that using a mirror-based chest compression method for chest compressions in adult CPR could make chest compressions easier, in addition, the quality of breast compression was improved by improving the posture of the rescuers, such as the average depth of compression, compression to relaxation ratio, and arm angle. However, it is necessary to confirm the feasibility of clinical application through additional studies on various environmental factors and job groups for mirror-based chest compression method.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between ethical dilemma, end-of-life care stress and burnout of the nurses in long term care hospitals and descriptive correlations to identify factors affecting burnout. The subjects of study were 143 nurses who are working in the seven long-term-care hospitals in G-do and had more than one experience of end-of-life nursing care, understood the research items and agreed to participate in the research. In this study, it was founded that end-of-life care stress, age, job position, and end-of-life care education were found to be influential factors affecting burnout of the nurses in long-term care hospitals. As a result, age and occupation, end - of - life nursing education, and end - of - life stress were found to be factors affecting nurses' burnout. Therefore, in order to prevent and alleviate burnout of long-term care hospital nurses, a systematic intervention program that manages stress related to end-of-life nursing care is needed.

  • The young generation in life cycle that social position is rapidly changing is play an important role in a regional development because they can increase social and natural population in the region. This study analyzed the relationship between the movement of young generation and the regional characteristics including housing market characteristics in Seoul. As the results, the movement of young generation was influenced by commuting distance and location of jobs as the gravity model has suggested. In addition, housing supply and housing price (or Jeonse price) is an important factor for the movement of young generation. It can be inferred that the more price gap such as Jeonse price and housing supply gap are increased, the more out-migration of young generation in Seoul is increased. However, the housing demand of young generation in employment centers will be increased because jobs contribute to increasing the inflow of young people. Therefore, the policies of central and Seoul government that supply housing in job rich and high accessibility areas are needed for young generation. In addition, if public housing and affordable housing are supplied in the other areas, it can contribute to reduce the out-migration of young people in Seoul.

  • This study aims to look at the current status of college graduate youth' participating in Individual Training Account System of Korea and analyze the effects of their participation experience on the labor market outcomes. To achieve this, this study used the data from 2012 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) and for analysis, used both multiple regression analysis and binomial logistic regression analysis. As a result, it was found that the number of young people who had ever heard about the Individual Training Account System was 2,707 individuals (27.6%), and among them, the number of young people who had actually participated in the System was 695(25.7%). As a result of analyzing the effect of participation experience with the Individual Training Account System on the outcomes of labor market, it was found that participation experience had a positive and significant impact on whether they were employed and the form of employment (permanent position), whereas it did not have a positive impact on average monthly wage. Based on these results, this study drew implications for further studies and suggested policy tasks for improving the policy effectiveness of the Individual Training Account System.
