Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate whether job satisfaction in clinical nurses was dependent on work intensity and whether physical discomfort mediated the relationships between these variables. Methods: Structural equation modeling was used with a sample of 253 clinical nurses from four general hospitals. In the model, absolute work intensity, relative work intensity, and flexibility were considered as exogenous variables and physical discomfort as a mediating variable. Data were collected using self-report measures such as the Labor Intensity Questionnaire, the Rating of Perceived Exertion, and the Index of Job Satisfaction. Results: The results of the structural equation modeling found that the higher scores on absolute and relative work intensity were positively associated with physical discomfort but only relative work intensity was significantly related to job satisfaction. Physical discomfort mediated the relationships between absolute work intensity and job satisfaction and between relative work intensity and job satisfaction. Among three kinds of work intensity, only relative work intensity had direct and indirect effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion: The findings suggest that increase in relative work intensity might play an important role in decreasing job satisfaction in clinical nurses and a reasonable reward system considering relative work intensity could be necessary.
Job search research has been criticized for failing to study the dynamics and change of the job search process. A lot of previous researches have used cross-sectional designs and treated job search as a static process. As a result, job search research has failed to examine how job seekers' behaviors change during the course of their search. This paper examined changes In job search behaviors(preparatory and active job search behavior, and job search intensity) and the effects of individual difference variables(self-esteem, self-efficacy, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness) on job search behaviors. Data were gathered from 404 university students who had not found employment at the time of beginning of second semester The results of t-test pairs indicated that job seeking students increased their preparatory job search behavior and active job search behavior, but didn't job search intensity. The results of multiple regression showed that self-efficacy had strong relationship with preparatory and active job search behavior, and job search intensity, but self-esteem had not any relationship with them. Among big-5 personality, extroversion had relationship with active job search behavior and job search intensity, and agreeableness only with job search intensity.

The purpose of this study is to confirm the effects of positive psychological capital on job intensity, customer orientation, and the mediating effects of trust of O2O employee. Research design, data and methodology: This study aims to identify the effect of positive psychological capital on customer orientation and job intensity through empirical analysis. 475 questionnaires were used for the final analysis using random sampling methods from O2O employees working at leading distribution companies for hypothesis verification. The analysis methods used for hypothesis testing in this study were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 statistical package. Results: Empirical analysis shows that it is an important factor in increasing job intensity and customer orientation, and that company trust has a significant influence through mediating effects among variables. Conclusions: In order to enhance job intensity and customer orientation for O2O distribution workers, it is necessary to change efforts with management efforts for positive psychological factors and trust. It is also believed that company trust should be considered as an important factor in the future leadership competency development system in that it can promote positive psychological capital, further strengthening job intensity and customer orientation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between social capital, labor intensity and incivility and effects the job burnout in pediatric nurses. Methods: A survey is conducted with 186 nurses working in pediatric units at 10 hospital in B, Y, K city. The data was analyzed with SPSS 21.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, $Scheff\acute{e}s$ test and multiple linear regression analysis. Results: A score of 3.31 out of 5 for the level of social capital, a score of 3.16 out of 5 on the labor intensity, and 2.20 points on a 5point on incivility, 4.15 points on a 7 point on job burnout. Job burnout explained 21.7% of the variance in incivility, social capital-shared values, job satisfaction, and labor intensity. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the major factors effecting pediatric nurses job burnout are incivility. Thus, in order to reduce pediatric nurses job burnout are to investigate degree of incivility, it is nesessary to develop intervention programs to incivility and labor intensity that reduced organizational level of measures need to establish.
The aim of this study was to develop an understanding of the mediating effect of job search efficacy on perceived career development support and job support intensity of university students of physical education major. Data were collected by a total of 223 junior and senior students who are undergraduate majoring in physical education in Seoul, Chungnam, and Gyeongsang Provinvces. For the study, the reliability and validity test of the questionnaire and correlation analysis were conducted by using SPSS 20.0 program, and Structural Equation Model(SEM) using AMOS 20.0 program was conducted to analyze the data. The results were as follows. First, career development support perceived by university students of physical education majors had a statistically significant effect on job search efficacy, whereas it had no significant effect on job search intensity. Second, job search efficacy of the students had a statistically significant effect on job search intensity. Lastly, it was found that job search efficacy totally mediated the relationship between perceived career development support and job search intensity.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate job stress and job satisfaction among nurses in gastrointestinal endoscopy units, and factors related to their job stress and job satisfaction. Methods: The study participants were 153 nurses working in gastrointestinal endoscopy units at eleven general hospitals. Job stress and job satisfaction were measured using nurses's job stress scale and the index of work satisfaction respectively. Results: The average job stress was 3.67 (range 1~5) and job satisfaction was 2.90 (range 1~5). Gastrointestinal endoscopy unit nurses, who were full time worker, having more than 7 years of clinical experiences, having higher incomes, having high subjective work-intensity, and having an intention to change their working units, showed greater job stresses than those of the others. There were significant differences in job satisfaction according to subjective health status, the types of employment, subjective work-intensity, subjective aptitude, intention to change working units, major nursing tasks, and the numbers of major nursing tasks. Also, the subjects's job stress showed a negative correlation with job satisfaction. Conclusion: Findings suggest that management strategies should be developed to increase job satisfaction focusing on general and job characteristics associated with job stress.
This paper shows that labor mobility is positively related to R&D intensity at the industry level in Korea. Different from the perception based on individual firm-level studies arguing that firms can be reluctant to R&D in fear of the job transfer of employees, firms in industries which have high job transfer of employees turn out not to reduce investment in R&D. This result is also confirmed by 2SLS regression. This result supports that, if there exist spillover effects through the job transfer of employees, job transfer can positively contribute to R&D activities.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship among professional self-concept, self-esteem and job satisfaction in the clinical dental hygienists and provide the basic data for the effective management of clinical dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 250 clinical dental hygienists in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang Provinces from February 1 to March 30, 2017. Data were analyzed using IMB SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Professional self-concept, self-esteem and job satisfaction according to the general characteristics and job characteristics were analzyed by independent t-test, one way ANOVA and Tukey. The relationship among professional self-concept, self-esteem and job satisfaction was found by Pearson's correlation. Multiple regression analysis was used to find out the relationship among professional self-concept, self-esteem and job satisfaction in the clinical dental hygienist. The significance level was a=0.05. Results: Clinical dental hygienist's professional self-concept was 3.76 points, self-esteem was 3.08 points and job satisfaction was 3.35 points. In general characteristics, professional self-concept showed the significant differences by age (p=0.043), marital status (p=0.005), level of education (p=0.001), duration of clinical career (p=0.003) and economic level (p=0.001). Job satisfaction showed the significant differences by age (p=0.019) and level of education (p=0.024). In job related characteristic, professional self-concept showed the significant differences by working area (p=0.001), working intensity (p=0.011) and position (p=0.001), while job satisfaction showed the significant differences by working area (p=0.014) and working intensity (p=0.001). Influencing factors in the job satisfaction in the clinical dental hygienists were age, working intensity, self-esteem, and professional self-concept. The explanatory of the model was 29.0%. Objective: This study aims to investigate the impact of changes in working conditions on job-related stress and musculoskeletal disorders using the results of seven surveys conducted at a single workplace from 2004 to 2022 regarding factors hazardous to the musculoskeletal system. Additionally, the study aims to propose alternative methods of investigating factors hazardous to the musculoskeletal system. Methods: A car parts manufacturing plant where the same survey was taken seven times from 2004 to 2022 was selected and the survey data was analyzed. The main contents of the survey were weekly working hours, Borg's scale, work intensity, job-related stress, and the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms. The statistical analysis was performed using SAS (version 9.4). Results: The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, changes in working conditions have an impact on job-related stress. Secondly, changes in working conditions have an impact on work intensity indicators. Thirdly, changes in working conditions have an impact on the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms. Fourthly, even with an increase in age and length of service, job-related stress and musculoskeletal symptoms were alleviated when working conditions were improved. Conclusions: In order for measures to reduce musculoskeletal disorders to be successful, working conditions must not deteriorate, and it is necessary to demand revisions to regulations, etc. to reflect these points in the investigation of hazardous factors to the musculoskeletal system.
