Analysis of the Job of Nurses Working on Oriental Medicine Wards (일부 한방병동간호사의 직무분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify nurse's role through job analysis of nursing duties for nurses working on East Asia traditional medicine wards. Methods: Major steps in the study included a literature review, description of job activities of nurses on oriental medicine wards, comparative description of the literature, expert tests of validity of derived duties and tasks, and investigation of importance, difficulty and frequency of duties on job list. Results: The job of nurses on oriental medicine wards was classified into 12 duties, 59 tasks, and 295 task elements. The 12 duties were nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, nursing implementation, nursing evaluation, supplies management, management of human resources, management of environment, management of documents, formation of cooperative relationships, self-development, and nursing activity in oriental medicine. 'Formation of cooperative relationships' was the duty ranked highest for importance (4.34), 'self-development' was ranked highest for difficulty (3.47), and 'Formation of cooperative relationships' was ranked highest for frequency (4.21). Conclusion: Basic education for nurses on an oriental medicine unit is necessary for the performance of oriental nursing to be considered as a specialized field. This study contributes to human resource management in the oriental medical hospital.

A Study on the Job Specifications of Teachers Working at Secondary Level Technical Vocational Education Institutes (중등단계 공업계열 직업교육기관 교사의 직무 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the duties of teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes, and analyze job importance, difficulty and frequency of performance perceived by teachers. For deducing the duties of teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes, they were theoretically devised by reviewing related legislations & regulations and domestic & overseas literatures. The devised duties were reviewed by 16 current teachers and 3 education experts to be revised and supplemented to complete the job model. Based on this, development of research tool was finalized, and questionnaires were used as the research tool. The results of this study are as follow. First, the job categories of teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes consisted of 7 categories that are subject instruction, student instruction, class management, curriculum organization & administration, school affairs & administrative duties, PR & field practical training and expertise enhancement. Based on the CFA, they consisted of 46 sub-factors in 10 categories with 3 categories of lesson preparation & planning, lesson administration and academic evaluation for subject instruction, and 2 categories of extracurricular student guidance and school life guidance for student instruction, and class management, curriculum organization & administration, school affairs & administrative duties, PR & field practical training and expertise enhancement. Second, job importance perceived by teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes was found to be high overall with 4.10, while above average in difficulty with 3.45 and average in frequency of performance with 3.12 (1-3 times a month). As for categories with high job importance, they were found to be in the order of academic evaluation (4.32), lesson preparation & planning (4.28), expertise enhancement (4.27), lesson administration (4.26), school life guidance (4.25), class management (4.17) and PR & field practical training (4.12). In regards to categories with high job difficulty, they were found to be in the order of PR & field practical training (4.07), curriculum organization & administration (3.73), expertise enhancement (3.55), school life guidance (3.48), academic evaluation (3.35) and extracurricular student guidance (3.22). As for categories with high frequency of job performance, they were found to be in the order of class management (3.88), lesson administration (3.77), school life guidance (3.52), school affairs & administrative duties (3.40) and lesson preparation & planning (3.17).

An Analysis of Nursing Work of Operating Room Nurses (수술실 간호사의 간호업무 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify nurses' duties and tasks for job analysis of the nurses in the operating room. Methods: This study was descriptive investigation research using the 3-point likert scale questionnaires and the level of importance, difficulty and the frequency of each duty and task were analyzed. Data were collected by 422 OR nurses from 57 hospitals. Results: Job of OR nurses included 13 duties and 105 tasks. The 13 duties were 'management of operative patient' 'assistive work for operation' 'supportive work for operation' 'infection control in OR' 'management of equipments and instruments for operation' 'administrating medicine for operation' 'supplies management for operation' 'safety management for operation' 'environmental management for operating room' 'administrative work for operation' 'education for operating room personnel' 'development of operation procedure books' and 'elf development of OR personnel' Conclusion: This study identified duties and tasks performed by OR nurses. Based on these results, the importance, frequency, and difficulty in this study will provide research evidence for developing training programs for OR nurses.

  • An advance in digital technologies and an introduction of HDTV contents production systems have made innovative changes in a TV broadcasting program and video production environment. The role of HD contents production experts is particularly getting more important to have a competitiveness in digital video production. It is necessary to develop a professional training and reeducation program that is based upon the perception of production experts. In this paper, we ed the perception of video production professionals and analyzed their requirements. With a DACUM job analysis method, 9 job duties and 71 tasks were retrieved to establish a research model. Then the performing frequency, importance, and difficulty in video editor's duties were analyzed and discussed.

  • In this paper Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export was defined, and it's job analysis. The authors have been defined the job and classified duties and tasks of Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export. To fine what is the most efficient task for Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export, we have been investigated the levels of importance, difficulty, frequency and entry in each task. A DACUM committee is composed of total 12 members, which are one facilitator, 10 panel members, one coordinator & recorder to analyze the job of Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export. Following is the result of this study. First, The process began with the identification of a job title and definition of Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export. Second, a job model of Ubiquitous Medical Electronic Device Export is constructed based on the results of DACUM job analysis. 5 duties and 33 tasks are analyzed. Third, occupational specification was drawn up in consultation with SME council. Fourth, duty specification was drawn up in consultation. 33 tasks that are essential in entry level of occupation are identified. Fifth, task specification was drawn up in consultation. Detail task component which include skill, materials, knowledge, equipment, achievement level and tool was specified in task specification.

Job Analysis of Hospital Coordinator Based on the DACUM Method (DACUM기법에 의한 병원코디네이터의 직무분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze of Hospital Coordinator based on the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum) method. The contents of this study were to extract the duties, tasks consisting of job of Hospital Coordinator and to investigate levels of importance, difficulty, frequency and entry level on each task, and to make out a job model of Hospital coordinator. A DACUM committee was composed to analyze job of Hospital Coordinator and the committee members were total 17, a facilitator, 15 hospital administrator and a recorder. The major findings of this study were as the followings ; first, duties in job of Hospital Coordinator were total 10, which were organization of Hospital Coordinator affairs, customerfacing services, consultation support, customer counsel, customer management, financial management, medical service planning, medical service marketing, organizational management, image making management, and self-development. And total tasks in job of Hospital coordinator were 76. Second, the tasks which were important, difficult, frequent and essential in entry step of occupation were counseling before consultation, explaining treatment plan after consultation, checking progress of consultation, answering teleconsultation, and finding out customer's consultation information. Third, a job model of Hospital Coordinator was constructed based on the results of DACUM job analysis.

Relationships between Maternal support network and perceptions of parenting task difficulty (어머니의 자녀양육에 대한 사회적 관계망과 양육곤란도 지각과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe maternal social networks and to examine their relationships to maternal perceptions of parenting task difficulty. One hundred and thirty-three mothers of preschool children responded to a questionnaire indicating individuals in their networks, support functions, and perceptions of task difficulty. Mothers reported an average of 6.5 persons in their networks, including primarily with her own mother, the husband, mother-in-law, and sisters. While support was provided mainly by her husband and her own family members, the kinds of support varied depending on the person in networks. It was also found that support functions were different in terms of maternal job status, sex of the child, and the child's previous experience in day care or early childhood education settings. Emotional support from networks was significantly related to parenting task difficulty, especially in daily routine care. Mothers who perceived more emotional support from networks reported parenting to be less difficult.

  • Purpose: This study was to analyze the job of coordinators working in the regional cardiocerebrovascular center. Methods: Using Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) method, the role of coordinators was defined and their duties and tasks were identified. The developed duties and tasks were classified and validated according to importance, difficulty, and frequency of the job. Results: A coordinator is defined as a clinical nurse specialist affiliated in a cardiocerebrovascular center. The coordinator is responsible for managing the major critical pathway to provide adequate medical service and providing education to the patient with myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular attack admitted via emergency room for prevention and management of disease. Ten duties and sixty-nine tasks were identified on the DACUM chart which represented the importance, difficulty, and frequency of tasks showed as A, B, C respectively. Based on determinant coefficient of the task, the highest ranked task was 'analysis for variation of CP' and the lowest was'investing the articles in stock'. Conclusion: The results of study showed that coordinators were doing various duties and tasks and they felt burden from their work and were in confusion. The results of this study can be used to develop training programs for coordinators and evaluation-scale of the coordinators' job performance as the basic data.

Job Analysis of Nurse Care Coordinators for Chronic Illness Management in Primary Care Settings: Using Developing a Curriculum Process (데이컴 기법을 적용한 일차의료 만성질환관리 간호사 케어코디네이터 직무분석)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to conduct a job analysis of nurse carecoordinators and to identify the frequency, importance and difficulty of each task of their job. Methods: A committee for developing a curriculum (DACUM) was formed and members of the committee defined nurse care coordinators' jobs and enumerated the duties, tasks and task elements by applying the DACUM technique. Then nurse care coordinators enrolled in the pilot project evaluated the frequency, importance and difficulty of each task. Results: From the job descriptions of nurse care coordinators, we identified 12 duties and 42 tasks. Each task comprised 1~5 task elements. Among tasks, 'assess the patient's general health status' was carried out most frequently. Nurse care coordinators perceived that 'check vital signs' and 'strengthen patient competence to promote health behaviors' were more important than all other tasks. The most difficult task was 'develop professionalism as a nurse care coordinator'. Conclusion: The nurse care coordinators' roles developed in this study will serve as the key guidelines for human resource management of care coordinators. Further, job specifications for nurse care coordinators need to be developed, which is necessary for designing education and training programs. We also need to integrate primary health care as an essential component in nursing education.

Potential Job Seekers' Preferences on the Local Jobs: A Case of the POSCO Outsourcing Partner Cooperation in Gwangyang City (지역 일자리에 대한 잠재적 구직자의 선호도 분석: 광양제철소 협력사를 사례로)

  • The Gwangyang City of Jeonnam Province, is one of the steel cities representing the Korea. Gwangyang Steelworks are the core of the local economy, and 59 firms of POSCO Outsourcing Partner Cooperation(POSPA) have been employed 9,300 to 9,500 peoples, and have been acted as an central incubator for job creation. POSPA, however, are suffering from the retirement of company in young age group, in their 20s and 30s. The purpose of this study is to analyze potential job seekers' perceptions and job preferences for POSPA are suffering from job openings. In order to this research purpose, it used questionary survey, and sample groups were divided into three areas, the Eastern Jeonnam Province, Gwangju, and the Seoul metropolitan area. Potential job seekers' perceptions for POSPA was low, and perceptions on firm and job opportunity information was lower. This characteristics were the same as those of respondents living in eastern South Jeolla Province. Potential job seekers, however, showed high preference for finding job at POSPA. A place-based policy considering the local labor market is needed to resolve the mismatch between the difficulty of finding a labor and the difficulty of finding a job.
