An Examination on Fashion Jewelry Brand Industry's Situation and Its Implications (패션 주얼리 브랜드산업(産業)의 현황(現況)과 시사점(時事點)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose d this study was to examine situations of fashion jewelry brand industry and to find out the problems in Korean jewelry market. Based on literature review, this paper tried to define jewelry first, and to investigate recent the recent situations or status of fashion jewelry markets. The fashion jewelry brand markets were able to be classified into 2 categories such as off-line retailing and on-line retailing including internet shopping and home shopping. As the result, the most problem was the definition of the fashion jewelry. Also our fashion jewelry markets had some serious problems such as complex distribution structure or lack d technical experts. Based on these results, fashion jewelry marketing strategies would be suggested.

  • With the increasing availability of medical sensors and Internet of Things(IoT) devices for personal use, considering the interaction with users, it is planned to add intelligent function design to the fashionable jewelry, and develop composite multi-function intelligent jewelry through sensors identification. By means of IoT technology, while possessing communication function of intelligent jewelry, the function of intelligent jewelry can be expanded to the linkage network. In order to rapidly manage the mass data produced by intelligent jewelry sensors based on IoT, an intelligent jewelry system for health management is designed and an ontology model of intelligent jewelry system based on IoT is worked out. After the state of the services through the smart phone application is shown. The application provides a personalized service to the user and to determine the risk to show the guide lines according to the disease.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine variables which influenced on fashion jewelry consumers' purchasing behavior. 565 respondents living in Seoul and its suburb were surveyed for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, ANOVA, and regression were used for this study. As the result, the frequencies of purchasing toward the fashion jewelry products were associated with materialism, brand royalty, reference group influence. Also, results revealed that materialism and brand royalty accounted for 41% of the explained variance in the frequency of purchasing products on fashion jewelry. Based on these results, fashion jewelry marketing strategies would be suggested.

  • To satisfy consumers' desire to enjoy their own individuality and cultural trends, the discovery of various materials and the expression of materials embodying their characteristics are increasingly important in the fashion jewelry industry. This study examines, paper mulberry fiber, a raw material of hanji that has been excavated as a new material for fashion jewelry, is durable as wall as, soft and easy to form, has a unique texture along with, excellent aesthetic quality, and expresses various colors, thereby differentiating itself from traditional fashion jewelry materials. The material itself also has symbolic significance as an approach to discovering new sustainable materials for fashion jewelry to ensure increased specificity of the product based on the premise of freedom of expression. The weight and optimal drying time of chicken fiber were derived for the study of fashion jewelry expression using the characteristics of paper mulberry fiber. The techniques of casting, deflection, packing and winding (winding beads with fibers and straps) were derived and four brooches were produced in total. This study is meaningful for the future of, the fashion jewelry industry as it presents the uses of new materials such as paper mulberry fiber to induce multidisciplinary consumption and to suggest a direction for the creation of new value-added products. Further, in order to expand the realm of fashion jewelry industry with our own competitive products that have secured our cultural identity and uniqueness in the global market, there must be continued follow-up research on mass production methods for industrialization.

A Study on Factors Affecting Turnover Intention of Jewelry Distribution Distributor

  • Purpose - This study aims to present ways to secure capable employees by examining key factors of internal marketing applicable to the jewelry distribution business and analyzing the relations among organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and turnover intentions among employees who play important roles in jewelry distributors. Research Design, data, and methodology - To examine these research models, samples were collected from 210 individuals working in jewelry distribution companies. The analysis was conducted by the use of a questionnaire method among employees in jewelry distribution companies. SPSS 18.0 were utilized for data analysis. Results - Among internal marketing components of jewelry distribution companies, the two factors - management support and reward system - have positive (+) effect on organizational commitment and while internal communication and education/training have negative (-) effect on employees' turnover intention. Jewelry distribution company employees' job satisfaction and organizational commitment have negative (-) effect on their turnover intention. Conclusions - This is an exploratory study that aims to find out ways to prevent employee turnover in the perspective of jewelry distribution companies' organizational measure - internal marketing. The future study needs to present more sophisticated strategies of internal marketing based on in-depth analysis of specific causes that make employees at jewelry distribution companies leave the occupations.

A Study on the Factors Affecting the Intention to Revisit Jewelry Stores

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence the revisit of jewelry stores. The purpose od this study is to find specific factors that affect product and store satisfaction. The theoretical studies on product quality, perceived quality guarantee, product design, product price, sales promotion, product diversity, store area, store re-visit intent were reviewed. Based on this background, research hypotheses were established. A total of 80 questionnaires were distributed to verify the hypothesis of the study, and 64 were finally used for the analysis. SPSS 24.0 was used for hypothesis verification. The results of this study showed that product quality, perceived product guarantee, product design, and product price had positive influence on product satisfaction. On the other hand, sales promotion, product diversity and store interior were found to have positive influence on store satisfaction. Furthermore, product and store satisfaction were found to have a positive and significant effect on revisit Jewelry Stores.

  • With the emergence of generative AI, a new era of coexistence with humanity has begun. The vast data-driven learning capabilities of AI are being utilized in various industries to achieve a level of productivity distinct from human learning. However, AI also manifests societal phenomena such as technophobia. This study aims to analyze collaborative AI models based on an understanding of AI and identify areas within the jewelry industry where these models can be applied. The utilization of collaborative AI models can lead to the acceleration of idea development, enhancement of design capabilities, increased productivity, and the internalization of multimodal functions. Ultimately, AI should be used as a collaborative tool from a utilitarian perspective, which requires a proactive, human-centric mindset. This research proposes collaborative AI strategies for the jewelry business, hoping to enhance the industry's competitiveness.

  • Same as other product brands, it is very important for jewelry brands to correctly identify customer characteristics, and seek high level service quality, and develop products that can set apart from competitions in order to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen repurchase intention. This study, in consideration of these pruduct characteristics, aims to verify whether service quality and/or product traits impact customer satisfaction. In addition, the study investigates whether customer trait plays a role of moderator in its effect on customer satisfaction. Finally, the study provides useful theoretical and practical implications on customer segmentation strategies that are contingent upon customer characteristics.

A Study on the Characteristics of 3D Printing Jewelry Design Utilizing with Fractal Geometry (프랙탈 기하학을 적용한 프린팅 주얼리 디자인 3D 특성)

  • 3D printing has grown tremendously as the most noteworthy new technology in the manufacturing industries. In addition, the rapid development of computer science technology with 3D printing has created a new paradigm called Fractal Geometry, or a new form of digital art. This study explores the formative characteristics of 3D printing jewelry based on presentation of fractal geometry by classification of 3D printing jewelry's morphological types that except for producible shape with traditional mold manufacturing methods. The results of the study are as follows. The morphological characteristics of 3D printed jewelry are divided into their constitutive shapes by the repetition of the unit. The organic shape determined by superposition or overlapping, the systematic shape by distortion caused by distortion, and the variation in scaling by scaling. The formative characteristics, which are drawn from a study on the shape expression of 3D printed jewelry design using fractal geometry, consist of continuity, geometrical characteristics, and exaggeration. Continuity creates a new and self-assigned new space through a recursive structure through a cyclic structure that is formed along a single directional basis. The geometry of the geometry forms a three-dimensional and constructive structure comprised of the same size and structure of the same sized unit under the mathematical order of the geometry of Fractal's geometry. Exaggeration demonstrates the informal beauty and the maximization of the shape by expanding the scaling or superposition of a unit, by scaling the scale or he distortion of the units.

  • Smart Jewelry is applied to the components of the Internet of Things. The process of obtaining the status information to the input of the sensor. And it controls the light color of the LED. Because to express the beauty of twinkling lights that can be felt in the jewelery and aesthetic functions were applied in order to feel the mystery. Smart Jewelry is capable of communication, interaction, wearable. Smart jewelery was equipped with a color, temperature, ambient light sensor. It was designed to allow interaction with a Bluetooth module. Applying an algorithm so that the light jewelry colors can vary depending on the circumstances of the smart jewelry wearer had been implemented by the mobile application. It can be realized in digital technology and the convergence of life. It presents the orientation development of the smart jewelery device on IoT environment.
