  • We discuss two possible optical noise sources in an electro-optic camera loaded on a low earth orbit satellite. The first noise source was a reflection at the window for signal rays incident upon the window which is placed before the FPA plane. The second noise source came from a reflection at the surface of the FPA cell when the signal flux is not entirely absorbed. We investigate the noise generation processes for two optical noise sources, and a parametric solution is used to estimate the optical noise effects.

  • Objectives: This case report was conducted to introduce the effectiveness of herbal decoction on patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Methods: We closely observed two patients who were admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine 1 of Kyung-Hee Korean Medical Hospital due to ITP. We gave a herbal decoction to these patients and then analyzed the changes in their general conditions as well as blood test results. Results and Conclusions: The treatment with herbal decoctions was helpful for ITP patients.

  • In this paper, we Present two-dimensional (2-D) analytical model for predicting the magnetic field characteristic of slotless permanent magnet bushless motors. Results from the model are compared to those deduced from 2-D finite element analyses(FEA). It is shown that the radial magnetization and the parallel magnetization of permanent magnet can have flux density on coil, airgap and permanent magnet's surface.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of permanent magnet synchronous motor with full-ring magnet. The modeling of magnetic circuit is performed analytically. And then, analytical solution for open-circuit field distribution due to permanent magnet, back-EMF and torque are derived in terms of magnetic vector potential and two-dimensional polar coordinate system. The analytical results are validated extensively by finite element analyses. Finally, we performed experiments of permanent magnet synchronous motor with full-ring magnet.

  • The analytical expressions for magnetic field distributions considering slotting effects, cogging torque and back-emf considering skew effects are established. On the basis of magnetic field solutions, electrical parameters such as back-emf constant and winding inductance are obtained. The predicted results are validated extensively by non-linear finite element (FE) analyses. In particular, test results such as back-emf, cogging torque, inductance and resistance measurements are given to confirm the analyses. Finally, generating performances are investigated by applying estimated parameters to equivalent circuit (EC) of the permanent magnet generator (PMG) and validated extensively by FE calculations and measurements.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that is robust against the effects of objects that are relatively unaffected by camera motion and can accurately detect camera motion even in high resolution images. First, for more accurate camera motion detection, a global motion filter based on entropy of a motion vector is used to distinguish the background and the object. A block matching algorithm is used to find exact motion vectors. In addition, a matched filter with the angle of the ideal motion vector of each block is used. Motion vectors including 4 kinds of diagonal direction, zoom in, and zoom out are added additionally. The experiment shows that the precision, recall, and accuracy of camera motion detection compared to the recent results is improved by 12.5%, 8.6% and 9.5%, respectively.

  • Nowadays more attention is paid to the developing high efficiency electrical machines for energy saving and protection of natural resources. In general, the electromagnetic losses appearing in electrical machines are widely classified into copper loss, core loss and rotor loss. Particularly, in permanent magnet (PM) machines, core loss forms a larger portion of the total losses than in another machine. So, satisfactory prediction of core loss at the design or analysis stage of PM machines is essential to active high efficiency and high performance. This paper deals with analysis of magnetic field distribution due to geometry of stator core for magnetic core loss calculation of multi-pole PM synchronous machine.

  • From isothermal and cyclic oxidation tests on thermomechanically treated Ti-5%Al, Ti47%Al-4%Cr, and Ti-48%Al-2%Cr-2%Nb alloys at 800, 900, 1000℃ in air, it was found that Ti-48%Al-2%Cr-2%Nb and Ti-47%Al-4%Cr had the best and the worst oxidation resistance, respectively. The oxide scales consisted primarily of TiO₂and Al₂O₃, with and without a small amount of dissolved Cr and 7b ions, depending on the alloy composition. These ions were slightly enriched inside the inner oxide layer, and strongly enriched around the scale-matrix interface. The outer TiO₂-rich layer was formed by the outward diffusion of Ti ions, while the inner (TiO₂+A1₂O₃,) mixed layer was formed by the inward transport of oxygen. The outward movement of Al ions farmed the intermediate Al₂O₃-rich Iayer, above talc prepared alloys.
