  • In the case of conventional soft robots, the basic stiffness is small due to the use of flexible materials. Therefore, there is a limitation that the load that can bear is limited. In order to overcome these limitations, a study on a variable stiffness method has been conducted. And it can be seen that the jamming mechanism is most effective in increasing the stiffness of the soft robot. However, the jamming mechanism as a method in which a large number of variable act together is not even theoretically analyzed, and there is no study on intrinsic principle. In this paper, a study was carried out to increase the stability of the force chain to increase the stiffness due to the jamming transition phenomenon. Particle size variables, backbone mechanisms were used to analyze the stability of the force chains. We choose a jamming mechanism as a variable stiffness method of a soft robot, and improve the effect of stiffness based on theoretical analysis, modeling FEM simulation, prototyping and experiment.

  • In this paper, an effective repeat-back jamming (RBJ) mitigation scheme known assuccessive repeat-back jamming cancellation (SRC) is proposed for the utilization of the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm which is used to mitigate the near-far effect and the multiple-access interference for code division multiple-access communication systems. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo-random noise (C-PRN) signal from the estimated major parameters of RBJ signals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the root mean squared (RMS) code tracking errors are shown according to the standard deviation of the parameter estimation errors of an RBJ signal, and using the well-known major parameters estimation schemes with a C-PRN signal through Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • In this paper, we are performance analysis of IEEE 802.15.4b LR-WAPN(Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network; Zigbee) system noncoherent receivers at 915MHz under Jamming. IEEE 802.15.4b concerns itself with devices at 915MHz, which employ a higher data rate of up to 250 kbps, and which use O-QPSK(Offset Quradrature Phase Shift Keying modulation with DSSS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum). Communication between devices can still be hampered by the presence of interferers outside the network, whether the interference be intentional or not. Hence the receivers can not have stable receiving condition due to worse BER. To solve this problem, we present a mere stabilized receiver system of using noncoherent detection. In this paper, we look instead at the effect of jamming, i.e. intentional interference, on the BER performance of IEEE 802.15.4 devices.

  • The antenna arrays are known to be effective for GPS anti-jamming and the performance can be improved further if a dual-polarized antenna array is used. However, when the Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) beamformer is used as a signal processing algorithm for the dual-polarized antenna array, the anti-jamming performance can degrade in the presence of errors in the steering vector that is a key factor of the MVDR beamformer. Therefore, in this paper, the effect of the steering vector error on the anti-jamming performance of the dual-polarized antenna array is analyzed by simulations and the result is compared to that of the single-polarized antenna array.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of an FM radio based passive radar in the presence of deception jamming such as false-target generation. To do this, we examine the effects of applying the deception jamming signal to the passive radar through the derivation of the construction of the amplitude-range-Doppler(ARD) plot. The analysis results show that applying the deception jamming signal with the low power similar to the target echo signal generates false targets at positions set by the jamming variables compared to the real target position in the ARD plot. Also, it is possible to induce the jamming effect so that only false targets are detected by selecting appropriate jamming power. Simulations are included to verify the theoretical results and to discuss on the effectiveness of the deception jamming on the FM radio based passive radar.

  • In modern warfare, the importance of electronic warfare, which carries out a mission that using radio wave to find out enemy information or to protect ally information, has increased. Radar jamming technique is one of the most representative techniques of EA(Electronic Attack), it disturbs and deceives enemy radar system in order to secure ally location information. Velocity deception jamming technique, which is one of the radar jamming techniques, generally operate against pulse-doppler radar which use doppler effect in order to track target's velocity and location. Velocity Deception Jamming Technique can be implemented using DRFM(Digital Radio Frequency Memory) that performs Frequency Modulation. In this paper, I describe implementation method of VGPO/VGPI(Velocity Gate Pull-Off/Pull-In) velocity deception jamming technique using phase-sampled DRFM, and verify the operation of VGPO/VGPI velocity deception jamming technique with board test under signal injection condition.

  • Self-encoded spread spectrum (SESS) is a novel modulation technique that acquires its spreading code from a random information source, rather than using the traditional pseudo-random noise (PN) codes. In this paper, we present our study of the SESS system performance under pulsed-noise jamming and show that iterative detection can significantly improve the bit error rate (BER) performance. The jamming performance of the SESS with correlation detection is verified to be similar to that of the conventional direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) system. On the other hand, the time diversity detection of the SESS can completely mitigate the effect of jamming by exploiting the inherent temporal diversity of the SESS system. Furthermore, iterative detection with multiple iterations can not only eliminate the jamming completely but also achieve a gain of approximately 1 dB at $10^{-3}$ BER as compared with the binary phase shift keying (BPSK) system under additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) by effectively combining the correlation and time diversity detections.

  • Anti-drone means a device that detects and blocks the intrusion and activity of illegal drones, and includes technology that crashes illegal drones or destroys them in the air. This paper analyzes the impact of jamming due to remote drone detection with anti-drone technology. The impact of jamming signals may vary depending on the distance of the drone. The present invention has an advantage of simultaneously jamming a drone at a short distance and a drone at a long distance due to the generation of a triangular wave, and efficiently operates a battery by not transmitting the drone at a maximum power. Also, even if the jamming is not affected at a distance, the jamming effect is greater at a close range, so it can be influenced differently.

  • In this paper, when two sets of cross-eye jammer antennas are installed vertically to jam a monopulse radar, the jamming effects according to the jammer's phase difference, amplitude ratio, and radar angle of engagement are analyzed. The phase difference and amplitude ratio of the cross-eye jammer can be adjusted in the jammer, but since the angle of engagement is relatively determined by the radar, it is very important to respond to changes in the angle of engagement. The orthogonally deployed jammer antennas can be considered as a good way to increase the jamming effect while minimizing the hardware configuration, and the jamming effect is analyzed while changing the angle of inclination from 0° to 360°. This jammer greatly improves the jamming effects at the angles of incidence 45°~135° and 225°~315°, compared to a single jammer. And it is expected to be useful in the design of cross-eye jammers for military aircraft and ships.
