The purpose of this research is to compare, according to tone variation of a red jacket, the preference of female college students from Korea and the U.S. for coloration in the traditional Korean dress. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: As to a vivid skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, students of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of vivid red skirt and vivid. dark red jacket, and vivid orange skirt and dull red jacket, and vivid yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and vivid violet skirt and dull red jacket. As to the light skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of light red skirt and light red jacket, and light orange skirt and light red jacket. As to the dull skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dull red skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull green skirt and dull red jacket, and dull violet skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket. As to the dark skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dark red skirt and dull dark red jacket, and dark orange skirt and vivid light dull red jacket, and dark yellow skirt and dull red jacket. As to the neutral skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of white skirt and vivid red jacket, and dark gray skirt and light red jacket.

This study seeks to offer practical suggestions for manufacturing jacket lining patterns through research on menswear brands. A researcher conducted interviews with a survey instrument targeting 12 menswear brands. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics were obtained using SPSS 18.0. The main findings were as follows. First, regarding lining production, most menswear brands were found to provide jacket lining patterns to their subcontractors, and pattern makers were found to design lining patterns based on their own know-how. The most important factor in the production of jacket lining patterns is whether linings are cut more than once during the sewing process. For suit jackets, linings are cut more than once, and for casual jackets, linings are cut once. Second, with regard to jacket production for different jacket styles, most menswear brands were found to use patterns that include seam allowance. Partial linings showed differences in terms of the methods used to sew edges and attach linings to the outer shell. Third, extra space in jacket lining patterns varied according to style. Jacket lining patterns for suit jackets and casual jackets showed differences in extra space in the following areas: the parts that cover the chest(suit jacket linings: 5.6cm, casual jacket linings: 2.4cm), the parts that cover the waist(suit jacket linings: 3.8cm, casual jacket linings: 1.3cm), hem(suit jacket linings: 2.7cm, casual jacket linings: 1.3cm), and bicep(suit jacket linings: 2.7cm, casual jacket linings: 1.1cm). However, extra space in the sleeve hems was identical for the two styles(suit jacket linings: 0.1cm, casual jacket linings: 0.1cm). Therefore, this research suggests that clothing manufacturers design linings in accordance with the jacket lining production style.

About the orthogonal Hadamard matrix announced by Hadamard in France in 1893, Professor Moon Ho Lee newly defined it as Center Weight Hadamard in 1989 and announced it, and discovered the Jacket matrix in 1998. The Jacket matrix is a generalization of the Hadamard matrix. In this paper, we propose a method of obtaining the Symmetric Jacket matrix, analyzing important properties and patterns, and obtaining the Jacket matrix's determinant and Eigenvalue, and proved it using Eigen decomposition. These calculations are useful for signal processing and orthogonal code design. To analyze the matrix system, compare it with DFT, DCT, Hadamard, and Jacket matrix. In the symmetric matrix of Galois Field, the element-wise inverse relationship of the Jacket matrix was mathematically proved and the orthogonal property AB=I relationship was derived.

The hip-length jacket(유) worn by the Korean from the ancient times is tole prototype of the contemporary jacket. Hip-length jacket was transferred to Japan and worn by all the people beyond the class. From 12C, the King and the high class people wore the clothing influenced by Tang(唐) country but the common people continuously wore the hip-length jacket. Currently the hip-length jacket is worn by the merchant and is used as the clothing of the celebration. The hip-length jacket has not been much changed in terms of the form.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the result of a market research on men's jacket in their age of 25 to 35, who wear fitted jackets most, and to examine the comparative analysis of pattern and the wearing evaluation between classic jacket and fitted jacket. The results are as follows; Firstly, according to the results of a market research, 32.0% of the target owned fitted jackets, and 28.7% expressed their desire to buy only fitted jackets. This means their concern and preference for fitted jacket with which they could show up young, fresh and slim look are as high as those for classic jacket. Secondly, classic jacket showed the higher value than fitted jacket in such items as chest girth, waist girth, hip girth, sleeve's hem girth, jacket length, shoulder length, side seam length, and across shoulder point length. On the other hand, fitted jacket showed the higher value than classic jacket in back armhole length, front length, collar point length and sleeve's vent length. Thirdly, classic jacket was larger than fitted jacket in 1/2 chest girth(1.0cm), 1/2 waist girth(2.0cm), 1/2 hip girth(1.0cm), back width(0.5cm), front width(0.5cm) and side width(1.0cm). However, fitted jacket was higher than classic jacket in the armhole depth(0.5). Fourthly, the results of appearance evaluation revealed that there was a significant difference in 6 items. In other words, classic jacket was evaluated more appropriate than fitted jacket in such items as back width, back length, back neck depth, chest girth, waist girth and hip girth. And the fitted jacket had a higher value than the classic jacket in shoulder angle item. Fifthly, In the functional evaluation, fitted jacket was evaluated more uncomfortable than classic jacket. And this means that fitted jacket doesn't have a proper ease amount in each part and it has a high armhole depth compared to classic jacket. Therefore, for more comfortable patternmaking of fitted jackets, it would be required a pattern design which reflect men's own shoulder lines and women designers' flexibility that will satisfy both appearance and function.

This study aims to suggest the proper neck-width of slim-fit jackets according to numbers of jacket buttons from an one-button jacket to a four button jacket for men in their 30's. The researchers carried out both an appearance evaluation and a movement functionality evaluation. When analyzing the appearance evaluation, there were meaningful differences. The one-button jacket showed a high score on the back-neck width of +2.4cm. The two-button jacket and the three button jacket showed a high score on the back-neck width of +1.4cm. The four-button jacket showed a high score on the back-neck width of +0.4cm. The result of movement functionality evaluation was not related to the appearance evaluation, and showed no meaningful difference. The one-button jacket and two button jacket showed high scores on the back-neck width of +2.4cm. The three button jacket showed a high score on the back-neck width of +1.4cm. The four-button jacket showed a high score on the back-neck width of +0.4cm. In analyzing both results, the study suggests that the proper front neck-width and that of the back-neck width of +2.4cm be for the one-button jacket, the back-neck width of +1.4cm be for the two-button jacket and the three-button jacket, while the back-neck width of +0.4cm be for the four-button jacket.

This study is aimed for men's jacket draft not only to other style but also helping for men's jacket fits for trend by presenting the course to get a style we want by adding to the partial drafty changes in existing pattern of men's formal jacket selected two kinds of men's jacket style fit for 1997 S/S trend. In this 1997 S/S trend, the trend I of the characteristic formal jacket is a style slim expressed over the basic formal wear, and trend II of the characteristic casual jacket appears to women's wear that roundly expressed by collar line of V-zone returened back by the shoulder line of jacket made of a big diagonal wrinkled line of X-style in front centered around a button of center front line. In this study, it called that the existing traditional formal jacket of men is a A style of jacket and jacket style I, II is a jacket B, C style. Jacket A, B, C style, a distingtion in draft that added to make form an oblique wrinkled line of the X-shaped-making artificially to the front button line sharply distinguished by eyes will be come out by control of front neck width over the back neck width. According to this, we shall be found that place of front neck point is a cardinal point in draft that will be added any changes in a style of jacket.

The purpose of this research was to compare the evaluation of tone on tone coloration of traditional Korean dress by Korean and American women college students. The respondents were asked to evaluate 48 stimuli of the traditional Korean skirt and jacket with different tone of color. The evaluation of Korean and American students admit of various interpretation, and it can'be said that they were caused by their different cultural bacgrounds. The results of reseach can be summerized as follows. As to the red colors, Korean students evaluated vivid skirt and light or dark jacket, light skirt and vivid or dull, dark jacket, dull skirt and light jacket as harmonized. But American students judged light skirt and dull and light jacket as not harmonized. As to the yellow colors, both Korean and American students had common opinions that light skirt and dull jacket are well harmonized. Korean students thought vivid skirt and dull jacket, light skirt and dull, dark jacket, dull skirt and dark jacket are well harmonized. American students thought light skirt and vivid, light, dull jacket dull skirt and light jacket are well harmonnized. As to the green colors, Korean students evaluated vivid skirt and dull, dark jacket, light skirt and vivid, dull, dark jacket are well harmonized. But American students evaluated vivid skirt and light jacket, light skirt and dark jacket, dark skirt and vivid or light jacket are not harmonized. Among 48 stimuli of tone on tone coloration, Korean students evaluated 18 set and American students judged 30 set as harmonized.

Subjective sensorial experiment was executed with 43 subjects to find the relationships between the sensibility of jacket styles and the handle of wool fabrics. The handle and sensibility of wool fabrics were significantly different according to the wool types, and the handle was defined as two axis of Wild/Exquisite vs. Thin/Thick. The sensibility of jacket styles was different by the types of jacket styles, and the jackets were displayed in the 2D of Masculine/Feminine vs. Country/urban according to the factor analysis using 8 sensibility words. The best-appropriate jacket styles for each wool fabrics were converged into several jacket styles, and it was found that the wool fabrics were divided as for all-purpose or for specific-end usage. For the results of correspondence analysis of the matrix for the best-appropriate jacket style for each wool fabric, the jacket styles and wool fabrics together were grouped as 4: Striking and Yang, Striking and Yin, Plain and Yang, Plain and Yin.

The purpose of the research was to compare the preference of coloration of traditional Korean dress according to tone variation of green jacket by Korean and American women college students. The results of research can be summarized as follows. Korean students preferred skirt of vivid red color and light green jacket, but American students did not like it. Korean students did not like the skirt and jacket of same color, but American students preferred it. Both Korean and American students preferred skirt and jacket of different tone. Korean students liked skirt of dull blue and jacket of light dull green, skirt of dark blue and jacket of vivid, dull green. American students liked skirt of vivid violet and jacket of vivid dull, dark green. They also liked skirt of light yellow and jacket of light green, light skirt of blue, violet and jacket of light, dull, dark green, skirt of dark blue and vivid, light, dull gueen, skirt of dark violet and jacket of dull, dark green.
