  • Edge detection is an important problem in computer vision and image understanding. Because the threshold is difficult to properly determine, edge images gained by the usually gradient-based segmentation methods are often tend to have many disjoint or overlapping boundaries, which makes the edge images spinous. In this paper, a practical multilevel morphological filter is presented for smoothing spinous edge images. The experimental results show that the method is effective in dealing with the images of a target in the sky.

  • VIRGO 104 is a low carbon martensitic stainless steel that is applied to the famous Three Gorges Project. By using VOD melting process VIRGO 104 has low carbon and [H] [O] contents, and shows excellent mechanical properties and weldability. The best solution to guarantee welding quality is PWHT by 600 Cx8h.

  • Financial institutions survive on the ability to collect and react to data. Today´s financial community is bombarded by massive amounts of information from real time data-feeds, risk management systems, and other intelligent sources. The large quantities of numerical data are virtually impossible to understand quickly. Humans have the ability to understand pictures instantaneously. Thus, by converting data into pictures, and using colour, size, shape, and pattern to define relationships, individuals can rapidly process complex Information.

  • In this paper, we study a class of integral boundary value problems for fractional differential equations. By using some fixed point theorems, the results of existence of at least three positive solutions for the boundary value problems are obtained.

  • This paper presents an effective hysteretic model for the prediction and evaluation of steel reinforced concrete member seismic performance. This model adopts the load-deformation relationship acquired from monotonic load tests and incorporates the double-pivot behavior of composite members subjected to cyclic loads. Deterioration in member stiffness was accounted in the analytical model. The composite member performance assessment control parameters were calibrated from the test results. Comparisons between the cyclic load test results and analytical model validated the proposed method's effectiveness.

  • Several common stationary point theorems for two classes of contractive type multivalued mappings in a complete bounded metric space are given. The results presented in this paper generalize and extend some known results in literature.
